STAY AWAY!! This place is a dump and the worst place we have slept, except for a tent we abandoned in a rainstorm. The bed linens seemed clean but all else was not. Dead insects abounded in the drawers, sink cabinet and shower. The toilet seat had to be disinfected because of remains from a prior guest. The mattress was thin but firm because of the sheet of plywood underneath. We got maybe two hours of sleep because of noise from the heater, major highway feet away and two guys having sex next door. Read prior reviews, none kinder than this except for those suspected to be from motel management. We avoided showers before departing.Rooms: The abandoned car noted in a prior review was still there. My comments above warrant five negative stars.

Horrible. The best thing I can say is that the bug I found in my bed wasn't a bed bug... oh and I arrived in the rain and it didn't rain inside!The Owner/manager/desk clerk made unreasonable (actually illegal) requests and inquiries regarding my service animal - we always select "pet friendly hotels for this reason - we're not trying to make anyone's life difficult here.it's a cheap option in the area, but seriously it's not worth it, drive a few more minutes to a more standard spot or go to the nice place in town.

I booked for two days before seeing room. However, was in staying in the area and very tired. Man at desk was very kind. But I was greeted by a musty old smell the moment I walked in. Their was spider webs/spiders in nearly every corner of the walls. The appliances look like they dated back to the 70s. I was afraid I'd set the place on fire turning anything on honestly. Very unsanitary and dirty. Everything was seriously outdated and the bed definitely had bedbugs and I was itching for a bit after staying. Their was mold in the corner/shelves. Don't even get me started on the shower...looked like something out of a horror movie. I was so scared of getting in and when it was turned on the smell of lead and mold consumed the bathroom. I had no idea what I was putting my feet on and it was poorly painted on the floor. Shower was dirty. Towels left out look like they were last used in the 1930s. All in all, I personally wouldn't stay again. For that price I could've definitely stayed at a much cleaner hotel with more than 5 TV channels and less scarring shower. If you consider staying here, make sure it's a last resort and you're falling asleep because it's not worth your money. Oh.. no free breakfast and don't request extra toilet paper because you won't get it.

Well, we survived the night at Major Sketcho Inn- what more can you ask for? O.oTook a star off for no complimentary shampoo. Had to walk over to the nearby gas station/convenience store to buy some.And for any other travelers forced to resort to this place, even though it's called Travelers Inn online, the sign at the actual place says Budget Inn, and it's just past Chestnut St on rt 20, not on Chestnut Street.

I've been to cleaner and less expensive motels, inns whatever you want to call it. Will not return. Our room was pretty dirty and while we only stayed one night we didn't enjoy. Pictures don't lie or book a room and experience for yourself. Hopefully you have a better room than we did. Check in counter was filthy and smelled of curry. Window in our room was sealed up and had a crack in it. Spider webs in the bathroom...

If I could give less than one star I would. DO NOT stay here. Stay literally ANYWHERE ELSE. Sleeping in you car is better than this place. It is disturbingly dirty and there in never any staff available. It is like staying in an abandoned crack house. I regret paying anything to stay here and will be attempting to get a refund from hotels.com. I feared for my safety the entire time and I got pink eye from the pillows. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Our room smelled horrible. The bedspread and bed linens were filthy. There was mold growing in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. The owner would only refund us half our money, though we were eventually able to get a full refund through the booking site.

I arrived and was greeted by the owner/manager in a very polite manner. He remembered me from my last stay and was as friendly and helpful as I could ever want.Safety: Felt very comfortable and safe during entire stay.

nastiest , dirtiest place I have ever stayed.. bathroom was left dirty from last person. Window locks were ripped off. Multiple smoke detectors were beeping because of low battery. Microwave didnt work. the paintings were duct taped to the wall. blankets were dirty. was told pet friendly on phone but upon my arrival was told had to "lock" in bathroom.

The rooms aren't the worst, it's a little dated but it was a place to stay that had AC and a shower with hot water. Definitely not the best but it worked. My only real problem is I booked a family room with 3 adults but when i got there the guy said it was only a single double bed and charged me for an upgrade to a double and a twin. So overall if you don't have anywhere else to stay it works but there are probably better choices out there. P.s. watch out for rule #2 on the list posted on his wall where he claims to audio record you for the safety of the staff. Don't think its true but it added a creepy factor to the stay.

****DO NOT STAY HERE****I don’t ever write reviews but I feel this needs to be shared. We arrived. It was dingy and smelled bad but we really didn’t think anything of it for the price. Dropped off our stuff. Went to a concert. came back... and as we were about to get into bed we pulled back the sheets and the beds were ***INFESTED WITH BED BUGS. I MEAN CRAWLING EVERYWHERE AND HUGE ONES HIDING ON THE SEAMS OF THE PILLOWS*** The mattress pads looked soiled and NOT WASHED 🤢🤮🤢🤮 All the hotels were booked for the night so we ended up bagging our stuff and sleeping in the car in the parking lot. 😡 We spent the next day of our trip at a laundromat cleaning everything. Also my boyfriend now has to figure out how to de bug his car just in case. HUGE EXPENSE AND RUINED OUR TRIP we should’ve gotten a full refund but haven’t received one yet. The owner seemed surprised 🤨 but such a bad infestation like that didn’t just happen over night 🙄🙄🙄 I have pictures and video but this won’t let me post them. Always check everything when you arrive at a hotel/motel no matter what! Hope this helps the next person looking for a cheap place to stay around the Cooperstown area.Also the room was #6

BEWARE! I stayed here 8/18/17 after driving 9 hours and needing a place to sleep. At first I couldn't find the place, then realized it had a "Budget Inn" sign out front.. not a problem.. go to check in and the office manager seemed very friendly and allowed my girlfriend and myself our pick of two rooms. Both were absolutely disgusting, but we decided we'd suck it up, go grab dinner, purchase sheets and pillows, and just make the best of it. As we are on our way to dinner I start to recieve calls and texts from the office manager, and it continues for half an hour (no service in upstate New York). I reply that I am at dinner and can put a positive review online afterwards, as that was his concern. After dinner and shopping, we get back and I'm instantly text and called multiple times. By this point I am ready to leave and ask for a refund, and decide I will give it until 10pm. The manager seemed to have gotten the point... now, one week later, the manager is messaging my personal phone nonstop again.. I had to call the booking site and report this. Thankfully I was smart enough to take pictures at check-in and check-out. Please, look at the photos of the messages this places' manager has sent me in the photos section. NO ONE should have to deal with this sort of harassment. EDIT: I've now received a fraudulent charge of 300$ on my account from this place. Once I awared the office manager I would take legal action and I have pictures at check in and check out of the entire room he proceeded to send 10 more messages threatening me and claiming the photos are false, lies, and I had "back stabbed him." Thankfully, BBB and other parties are now involved.Edit: 9/11/2017- do yourself a favor and read some of the reviews that are rated above 2/5. They all have very similar grammar, punctuation, and wording.. that of which matches the Office Managers texts sent to me from the # listed as their office number. Hmm. Be careful of fake reviews from a crazy manager.

Cute little place.. husband and son was here last month for baseball and we are back for baseball but arrived a day early and the manager helped us out and had a room ready for us . .we were driving from FL and didn't arrive until 6 am . Very quiet no one bothers you. .. staff are friendly

If you need a place to stay that's warm and dry, it's ok. It's old. They have internet, done cable channels. The staff were nice, and accommodating. No smoking rooms. It's probably one of the few hotels in the area, so your choices are limited.

First off, Expedia and Travelocity both boast that this hotel is a 15-min walk to the Hall of Fame, which is the main reason we booked it. This is a complete lie and when I called Expedia to complain they said the information is provided by the hotel. SHADY. Secondly, we weren't arriving until after 10pm and I called repeatedly to let them know and they kept telling me that it's too bad and I should do my best to arrive before 10 because that's when they close. Rather than risk being out of luck with no place to stay we quickly booked somewhere else and called to cancel the Traveler's Inn. They refuse to give me a refund! The manager is extremely unhelpful and rude, as is the staff. Anyway, we ended up driving by there and realize we may have gotten murdered and left in the woods if we stayed there so I'm glad we switched! Still would like my refund though!

Front desk was very helpful. The hotel is very quiet and clean. Also pet friendly. Arrived at 9:30 p.m. We were greeted courtiously. They were very helpful in getting us settled in which made for a great weekend.

Two lamp outlet and one bathroom outlet, kitchenette sink didnt work, no coffee pot. We were just traveling through, it was tiny and clownish, but I wouldn't stop again.

Don't bring the wife.. needs total redo.no free breakfast as listed.we sprayed our beds with lysol and wore flip flops in shower.Guy who runs place nice enough but everything else is the worst.It did have AC a window unit...we only got one towel for 2 of us plus no wash cloths.do yourself a favor and stay away

It has New management, they have redone their room.. Our room was nice and clean.. Rate was lowest we could find.location is close to Hall of fame and Cobleskill.. Near by Convenient shop and Breakfast place..Historic town..Will come back
