I came in this store on a whim, I have a local pet shop where I usually get food from, but I was on the area and decided to stop in.First thing that struck me was the layout of the store. I was very impressed by how "homey" it felt, no florescent lights reflecting off of a slippery white floor. Lights were dimmed to a comfortable brightness, a handful of tables scattered around for fearured items, and shelves lined up, like a library, instead of aisles that leave you disoriented and blind to the rest of your surroundings.Second, I was very pleased to notice that they offer the best, highest quality, most natural and nourishing foods and treats. I love that they quite clearly value quality over quantity, and do not overstock their shelves with every single brand they encounter.Third, the staff was so very helpful and friendly, professional but personable at the same time. I wound up in the store much longer than expected just because I was enjoying the conversations.I wish this store were closer to my home, but without a doubt it is the new go-to pet store for my pup and I.

Great pet store. They have self service tubs to wash your dog. We wash our dog here every month. Very clean and well maintained. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Not the typical place run by teens who don’t care.

Staff is great and always helpful. Jackie the groomer gets an extra star, one of our pups does NOT like getting her nails done but Jackie does a great job with her and our other one, a much better job than our vet does. Love this store!

I have had nothing but good experiences in this store. I always take my dog, Ruby, here for her baths. My Dad and I always call before we head in to make sure there isn't a line. There are three bath tubs available and in my own experiences there is typically no one else there. For $10 you get shampoo of your choice and you get towels and a drier near the tubs. I also appreciate how to staff will wipe down and clean the bath after another dog uses it before you use it for your own dog. The last time I went around Christmas there was a small line but it went very quickly within 15 minutes. While you are waiting there are plenty of different products to check out around the store that your pet might like! Take a walk around with your pet!

We LOVE the do it yourself dog wash - only $10 & so comvenient! The baths are gated so if your dog gets out of the tub, they cant leave the area. Baths are always cleaned between dogs & they provide shampoo, conditioner, towels, blow dryers & aprons to keep your clothes dry. Every 7th bath is free!

Best place to bathe your dog instead of paying for a groomer! The tubs are waist high so you don't have to break your back bathing your dog! For $10.00 they supply you with shampoo and tub with a hose, dryer and towels. The best part is thay they deal with the mess as opposed to having to clean up your bathroom yourself when your done!

This is my favorite place for all my pet care needs.They carry regular, natural and raw food and treats. Their loyalty program awards you $10.00 toward your next purchase when you've spent $200.00. Cats and/or kittens are almost always in the Hauppauge and East Setauket stores awaiting adoption. Dog/puppy adoption events are held in-store on many weekends. These are dog-friendly establishments. Dogs are welcome to shop with their owners. Treat samples are on the counter, should you wish to let your dog sample them. These locations have $10.00 self-service dog wash stations. Towels and shampoo is provided. Remember to bring your own brush. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are competitive. Mike, the manager at East Setauket, will gladly assist you.

Very informed, terrific advise, and all the help care about animals. We finally found food that our cat eats & and finishes. Previously she would lick the gravy and leave the solid chunks behind. So in the long run it’s actually cheaper than grocery store cat food. Also, a beautiful adoption service for cats, but if you come back a few days later, your choice will likely be adopted and gone.

I love petvalu they are the best and very friendly. Deanna is so great she has helped with treats I needed for my female yellow lab with bad breath she told me to try grumps I have to say they are great and has helped with the breath. I want to say thank you she also helped me with a dog brush for my female and male yellow lab terminator brush is the best brush you have to be faithful with brushing I got both my dogs to love it and they do so very glad I purchased this brush I give this brush ten stars it's great and so is Deanna I love seeing her there great person. Clean, friendly, attentive. I went to give my dog a bath and the employee helped me get my frightened dog in the tub. He talked to her and pet her. Been here many times, pleasant experience everytime.

They were very friendly and knowledgeable of the product and we love the the dog bath in the back is the best. Am there twice a week just to wash my dog and there's never any problems very calm environment.
