We've never had anything put a pleasent experience at country max in Seneca Falls! I am absolutely astounded by the care of the reptiles available as well as the knowledge of the employees, especially Josiah. Whenever my son and I come in for feeders or just to kill time there is always someone back in the pet department caring for them. We've even asked questions months after purchasing our reptiles to ensure they are receiving the proper care and they've always been extremely helpful! Would be happy to purchase from there in the future !

Katie and Josiah were absolutely amazing in helping me pick out my new fish for my community tank and teaching me everything I needed to know! I cannot thank them enough. They were beyond knowledgeable & so kind. I HIGHLY recommend! I’d give 10 stars if I could!

Although we have the most outdated store there is, the employees deserve a hand for their service! I wish the store would get a face-lift and turn more into some of the nicer country max stores around. Some of the stock here is old and dusty and could really use that extra little bit to make it great once again. Even the plant selection wasn't this good this year compared to previous year. Please country max do something for this store!!!

My son had an emergency with his large cat, and while he was driving him from Rochester to Cornell University, the cat escaped his soft sided carrier. He had already stopped at one chain on the way, and all they had were small carriers. I called Country Max and spoke with Victoria, who was friendly and very knowledgeable. She knew exactly what I needed and offered two different options. She even went above and beyond to help out. Thank you very much, Victoria!

Over all a great store. We go there a lot for our reptile needs. Such as food etc. Sometimes trying to find help in the back where the crickets are is a little extreme but we try to be patient.

Stopped in on my way home from Ithaca. Read the poor reviews thinking it couldn’t possibly be that bad specifically about the freshwater fish. The reviews are spot on. Out of all the Countrymax stores I’ve visited this one is definitely the worst. Multiple fish tanks with ich, tanks not maintained. The fish room smelled bad which is never a good sign. Save yourself the time and effort and if you want to purchase fish from country max, go to Rochester Countrymax stores (Henrietta, greece, Webster, etc)

It's a cute store but the state of their fish is unforgivable. Obvious fin rot and other highly contagious conditions that are a result of poor fish keeping. The animals are kept in depressing, unfit habitats.

Came in the other day and talked to this girl named Raven. She really helped me out looking for what I needed and to me, she really knew her stuff and with that; something should be done about this because other pet places you have to use GPS just to find a darn employee just to ask a question. Friendly store with gardening and pet supplies. They readily help load heavy items in your car, have good seasonal plants, and sometimes great pets. All manner of yard care supplies and hand tools for yard work. Odd items like novelty candies show up. I love their bird food selection. Give them a try, you won't regret it.

I don't want to be the kind of person who does negative reviews, but it is what it is. I've been going to this store for years because I've always had some kind of pet. I have never had a problem with work staff, although sometimes there are few staff. But for a few months they have had a guy working there who is terrible attending to those of us who go there. He usually ignores people even while he sees us waiting. And when he feels like attending, he does it in a bad way. I have even gone so far as to go without buying and look for other food alternatives for my pet because this guy has not attended us. In short, if it is not there to better serve consumers, it is better to move it to another part of the store where it does not have to serve anyone. Terrible service.

Absolutely disgusting. Dead and malnourished animals in cages. Manager and employees are lazy, unhelpful, and generally do not care about anything including the animals. Just today there was a dead Chameleon in it’s cage and when brought to an employee attention their response was “that’s not my problem”. Manager was also of no help and also did not seem to care. This place is awful, do not recommend supporting them in any way shape or form. Also the employees are terrible.

Ordered chicks and some other items on line to be picked up when the chicks came in. That went well. But.... I drove an hour to pick the chicks up and to purchase another $50 dollars worth of supplies. It was 8:20 in the morning and I was the only customer. The lady who I can only assume was either a cashier or some sort of supervisor was standing close to the register moving a large bag. She did not greet me whatsoever, but moved her way to the register and stated in monotone, "Can I help you?" No smile, nothing. I explained why I was there and from then on she still never smiled, was unfriendly to the point where even when I said I needed to get a few more things it seemed to bother her that I was even in the store. Once I figured out where everything was (with NO help or assistance) I paid for everything and then I asked her for her name. I said nothing after that. Lorie, you should not be working in a place where you deal with customers as I will not be back. I am going to shop at the other supply store and spend my hard earned money there.Luann Steele

Disgusting. The rats had new born babies and few week old babies grouped together. Newborns not getting to mother to nurse. Single Beta cups had algae in them and water was green. We were looking for bearded dragon. Their policy is that you cant hold one unless you are buying it right then. We stood there looking at the reptiles for over 45 minutes, and not once did the 2 workers who were 15 feet from us ask us if we needed help. They just kept talking about personal stuff. Very rude assoc. I wasnt even greeted when we walked in the door. Definitely the most horrible country max that I have ever been in.

Treat animals poorly. I always go in here because I love playing with the ferrets. I use to own two and use to work with them. I went in here a little while ago to find a very very sick kit. She was having diarrhea and she had an eye infection so bad her eye was swollen shut. Now, the condition she was in does not happen over night. It takes a couple days to a week. I called the worker back and asked to look at the ferret. When I pointed out to her how sick this ferret was she just looked at me and said "I don't know. She wasn't like that this morning." If they didn't charge an arm and a leg for these guys I would have taken her home.

Clean and pleasant shopping. The aisle are large and roomy. There is a great selection of items for all pet species. The animals are well cared for and very presentable. I found the plants to be healthy.

This is based of prices alone. This place is absolutely nuts. Ball python 90.00 and he iOS about the same price.You can get balls for 50 and geckos from 20-30 anywhere else.Huge variety in store but this is not the place for me.

We called ahead to see if they had mice and asked a price told us they were .99 each and asked if they would hold 20 for us cause we live a ways away they said yes. We got there and they only had 12 and they were 1.99 each. Everyone there when we got there was helpful but disappointed about the phone conversation and as to what they really had.

I'm from Rochester and this country max does not compare at all to those there. I have come here twice as I now live in Trumansburg, and have always gotten my rabbit supplies from country max. This place is a joke. They don't stock oxbow rabbit food, have no toys and no bulk bags of hay. Bad excuse for such a great chain store.

The fresh water fish sold at Country Max (Seneca Fall, NY) all have ick, I even pointed it out to one of their workers. They did not care, they are still selling the sick fish to customers. So beware, they will contaminate your whole tank. Look at the fish really good, tiny white spots are actually ick spots.

It Is the largest pet supplies store containing all that you need for any animal you may have. From the barn to the house they are the one to to visit. They even sell small animals & fish.

There reptile are always mistreated. The fish room smells like dead fish all the time. Half the time they don't even have what you need. If I didn't get my snake food there I would never step foot in it.

Although service was quick and efficient, I was disappointed that both employees I dealt with failed to respect me enough to wear their masks properly - mouths covered but not noses. This is not the time to take shortcuts.
