The self check out machine ate dollars of my change without taking it off of my owed amount, spit 2 dollars out, and when imformed the older male employer gave me $5 and basically told me there was nothing he could do. I don’t care about the change, it was the utter indifference and lack of care from the male worker that was most disappointing.

Their products displays aren't organized. I end up looking for it every isles. The craziest part is "a lady employee hovering around me like I'm gonna steal"🙃.. Why not offer assistance to a customer instead of hovering around? Soo uncomfortable 😳.. Despite of feeling uncomfortable, I decided to just look the specific products that I want instead of asking her because it's feels like her body language and actions was too obvious that she is watching me if I'm going to steal something. So uncomfortable . It's not worth it to spend hard earned money that place. By the way, it's my first time shopping in that location and I make sure to be my last time to buy something there as well.My suggestions to employees are to offer assistance to a customers instead of hovering around.

Awesome customer service!! Great prices!! Only reason I didn't give 5 ☆'s is bcz found about 4, or 5 things I was gonna buy on a budget, but there was no price tags around. I went to the front to price check something, and of course the super friendly yet busy cashier scanned it for me. However I'm not gonna keep going to the front every time i find something I need to see the price. That, and shouldn't have to. If someone makes sure everything has prices where they're supposed to be then I'll rate 5 ☆'s. Other then that 1 annoying thing it's def a gr8 store!! =)

Scottsville has very few options when it comes to general stores for all purpose necessities. Dollar General has thrived in these areas. While I wouldn't use it as a primary go to there are certain items I will always buy there such as greeting cards, seasonal candy, simple snacks, household cleaners, over the counter medicine, toiletries, clearence clothing etc... Many of these items are off brand at low cost and decent quality. The store rarely has more than two people working at it which might mean the cashier stocks items in a nearby aisle or that there are lots of people in line with no help in sight. Not a big deal as long as you know what you're heading into.

For a store called dollar general I believe things there are for a dollar, for example the staff! unhelpful. also the building! it was so hot i felt like i needed to dunk in an ice chamber. but one thing that is not for a dollar. the supplies that you came to get cheap, nothing is for one dollar.

Great place to get most anything for a good price. Big store that has a small fridge and freezer section in the back. I go here to buy the little things I need at home. Much better than driving to wegmans for a short trip

Our Dollar General in Scottsville often has Pepsi products on sale for an amazing price. The one thing wrong with that is there is never more than 2-12 packs of Diet Pepsi? I don't quite understand why.

What can be said about Dollar general? it's a great place to go to when you need to save money and get stuff that's not vitally important in your life like cleaners or odds and ends that you don't want to spend a fortune for I recommended it.

New to the area and love the staff. Everyone was helpful and kind. I needed a hat for my 6 month old son and the staff went out of their way to help. Thanks guys keep it up!

Apparently costomers are allowed to walk around without masks on. I talked to the manager, who said that corporate has told them that they are not allowed to tell customers that they have to wear them. Okay, her hands are tied. But then, as we were talking (in a small office), I realized that she didn't even have her mask over her nose. I left at that point because I'd rather file a complaint at home.
