The renovation at the lodge was definitely a success. Drove up 3+ hours to ice fish Schroon Lake and wanted somewhere nice to lay our heads. Service was friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable, and there were plenty of amenities if desired. Pool, gym, etc. Plus there is several food options whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. We at dinner at The Brown Swan which was walking distance from the room. It was very good. Also leaving a review for them.Great spot and will for sure stay again.

We stopped here after the total solar eclipse to eat, so I can't review the actual rooms but the campus is beautiful and I can see spending a week here easily if you're looking for some R&R with family, single or as a couple. The lodge looks at the lake and offers people many things to do while there. There is a main dining room and a separate bar with pub food for visitors as well as guests. I will review the Brown Swan, where we had dinner here, separately.

We stayed at the lodge in November, during their quiet season, and had a wonderful time! The property is stunning and there are a lot of activities for families, including mini golf. We stayed in a chalet and enjoyed beautiful views of the lake from our private balcony. I highly recommend that you eat dinner at their restaurant, The Brown Swan - the food and service was great! The town is super cute and has some great shops. There is also a great brewery nearby called Paradox. We can't wait to go back to The Lodge at Schoon Lake!Nearby activities: Check out the shops in town and the Paradox BreweryFood & drinks: The Brown Swan has good food - highly recommend.

Went to the lodge for a dual women’s retreat and my daughter’s 16th birthday with high expectations. From the outside, it seemed beautiful and the front desk staff was very nice. However, I was recovering from a broken ankle and needed handicap accessibility. The room we were given, was supposedly 1st floor, however the 1st floor was actually down 2 sets of stairs, 1 which was at least 25 stairs down and down a long hallway. We were not even able to get our luggage there with the luggage cart. The elevators only go to down 1 level which is a small group of rooms in the 200 numbers. The pool and other amenities were also not handicap accessible. The outside walkways were also very slippery with ice. Once in the room, it had a very bad odor, the floors were dirty and the toilet kept running and eventually overflowed. Housekeeping came down and cleaned it up and turned the water valve off on the toilet. We ended up using the public restroom across from our room. Maintenance did not come until the afternoon of our 2nd day when we were then informed that the toilet was not fixable. We then had to wait until after dinner of our 2nd day for another room. The dining options onsite were at an excessive cost… a subpar breakfast spread at $17 a person.. and really no other information on dining was given so all of our meals were offsite. Although the staff was very nice, the stay was not. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway for my daughter’s birthday and retreat for our women’s ministry, turned into a stressful and physically painful ordeal. Totally unacceptable, especially for the price point of the accommodations.Rooms: Rooms were not as clean as they should have been and needed toilet repair.Safety: Accommodations and amenities are not handicap accessible.Walkability: Walkways on property were icy, location requires a vehicle.Food & drinks: Excessively expensive and not very accessible.

Went to celebration of life and was really impressed with the whole place! The only thing was it's on a side hill,to view the lake, and the stairs weren't lit up at all. Our travel companion had recently had knee surgery so who doesn't have a cellphone! We lit up the stairs with the phones and off we went. Great place with great employees

We spent a long weekend at the Lodge and had a wonderful time. We stayed in a standard king room in the main lodge and the room was larger than most hotel rooms. Plenty of space. Everyone we encountered were friendly and helpful. We had brunch and dinner at the restaurant and both were delicious. While at dinner we spoke with a woman ,do not remember her name, but she told us all about the place and the new things they will be adding. Took a day trip to Lake Placid ( about an hour drive) toured the Olympic sites and museum .With everything the Lodge has to offer as far as amenities and kids activities we went ahead and booked a week in July. Grandson will love it!

Came here for my friend's birthday celebration weekend. It was so nice. Really low-key relaxing, small-town vibes. Nice tiny town, easy walk from the lodge. Ate at a tasty brunch place. The food at the lodge was amazing for the birthday celebration. The views were AMAZING, especially with the fall foliage. The staff was great. The picnic area was great for cooking out and having the kids running around and playing mini golf. The indoor lounge area at the main lodge was a great place to hang with friends. The rooms in the main lodge were cute - nothing over the top but modern rustic Adirondack themed. We got to watch fireworks and roast smores - they have big fire pit camp fires they light each night. I highly recommend.

Really enjoyed the location and views. The staff checking in were very helpful. Kim the waitresses in the lodge restaurant was very nice and we really liked her personality. The property had a lot of cool options for you to entertain yourself with mini golf, basketball, soccer, huge outdoor chess. Are a few of the games I recall. One down side would be the blower was being used in the morning at 6:35am. After a text to the office it stopped. The use of the blower when the sunset was happening was also a bit of an annoyance. These are little hiccups that can be worked on. Overall its a lovely place to visit.

Great experience! What a wonderful spot if you like the idea of camp ground camping but are a hotel person you will love this resort! The staff was exceptional and we had a terrific time! Perfect for families. We enjoyed to pool, soccer field, and especially loved the miniature golf and pumpkin carving. We stayed in the west lodge, the only thing we were missing in the room was a microwave.

So good to us! My boyfriend and I came from 3.5 hours away to return my brother to Plattsburgh college. Got stuck in a really nasty snowstorm about 30 minutes into the trip home. After calling almost every hotel within a 15 minute drive, nobody could take us or it was too late and they were closed. I called The Lodge and they immediately told me they would be able to accommodate us, they had a really nice king bedroom available for a significantly lower price than any of the other hotels in the area even had a twin bed room for. Though it was only 25 minutes from our location at the time, they waited almost an hour and a half for us to get there through the storm. At almost 1 in the morning we finally arrive and they were so welcoming. They offered to help us get bags, (though we didn’t have any, since it was unplanned.) showed us all the fancy & neat little activities and things they offer, including a huge pool, hot tub, and saunas! They gave us maps and a phone number in case we needed to get anything. The power went out somewhere around 2-4am and all morning they were trying to fix it. However, the stress and frustration of trying to get everything back up and running had absolutely no effect on their hospitality or concern for their guests.Long story short, a really unexpected, scary and stressful situation was completely turned around due to the lodge & its staff. I absolutely, 1000% recommend coming here to stay. The snow just adds the most amazing touch to the buildings, which are incredibly clean and beautiful, but we definitely plan to make this a monthly trip. A little hidden spot in a quiet town, kid and adult friendly, beautiful views, amazing staff, and wonderful activities, not to mention the BEST prices!? What more could you ask for!? Look no further than the Lodge at Schroon lake, you really won’t be disappointed. It really is the definition of getting the most out of your money, (the little bit you even have to spend to stay here!) even if it’s only for 8 hours like us. ☺️Rooms: Rooms were OUTSTANDINGLY clean, spacious and definite comfortable!Safety: The outside & inside areas are both monitored and lit well, so no worries!Noteworthy details: Everything about this place is just outstanding. Can literally say 0 issues and 0 complaints.

if you’ve ever been to a restored luxury resort on Long Island or in the Hudson Valley, you get what they are going for here. the issue is it seems like they got 3/4 of the way there and stopped. Almost like they ran out of money or they decided to not go for that luxury finish because they couldn’t justify the room rates. The room is nice, but sparse. The public spaces are nice, but short of your expectations. There is a store next to the front desk, but somehow they missed those stupid things you want on vacation like a candy bar, bag of chips, soda or a T shirt. There is a shuttle to Gore, but it doesnt run during a Holiday week. The bar has nice food, but it isnt family friendly food or the type of pub food you want post skiing. there is also a weird undercurrent with the service. everybody was very nice but you could see there was an edge to the place. I can’t put my finger on it.anyway, for your purposes, I would stay here again. It is a nice ski hotel. Albeit a solid 30 mins from anything but a lake and a cute little town. It is a Beautiful spot for the summer. I just get the feeling they wanted to be more; but theyre not. And that makes it a bit off

We found The Lodge to be a wonderful spot to spend a couple of days relaxing along Schroon Lake. The facilities were well appointed. We enjoyed our meals at the restaurant where service was very attentive. Check in and check out services were smooth. The property is well maintained. There was abundant parking. The Lodge has a great indoor pool and exercise area, children's playground and lake activities. We stayed in the main building, but there are chalets, tents for glancing and other accommodations. I would recommend The Lodge enthusiastically to couples and families with children.

This property is absolutely gorgeous. The grounds are lovely and well kept with a stunning view of the lake. We stayed at the main lodge and room was clean and comfortableFood at the Brown Swan was tasty and the staff were impressively attentiveThe lodge is newly open and they are working out some kinks, but I am positive it will keep improvingI do wish the bonfires were earlier as 10pm is a little late for younger kids. Game room, pool and gym are nice perks

I cannot say one bad thing about this place. It is a slice of heaven. Clean, comfortable tastefully decorated rooms with loads of storage, soft towels, luxurious beds and other quality amenities. We received exceptional service..The lodge has beautiful new decor, a heavenly pool, easy lake access to a well tended beach area, views for days, playground and its own little mini golf course. The Brown Swan is an amazing restaurant..The staff were just the nicest and responsive folks one could hope for. The grounds are stunningly gorgeous and the available activities are thoughtful and highly appealing for kids and adults alike. Very family and pet friendly..Nothing but peace and old fashioned Adirondack relaxation and rejuvenation. We extended our stay and were sad to leave..We are already planning our stay for next summer and are excited to see what these new owners have planned for what we hope will be our new summer happy place..Anyone complaining about noise has obviously never spent time in historic lodging, a great camp or even a beach no-tel hotel. Footfalls are a thing. We did not find them to be bothersome. The hotel was quite full when we were there but the property was really very quiet. The grounds and buildings are so expansive we spent minimal time in our room, even when it rained..I wish I could give 10 stars.

We had a two bedroom cottage which was very pretty. We were 4 people and the living room only had a loveseat and one chair which was a bit inconvenient. Four chairs would have been better. Also a very small dining table for two only. One light switch turned all the lights in the room ( so hard to sneak in the kitchenette for a late night snack, lol) Overall it was really nice and I'd go again.

We recently visited the lodge and had a wonderful experience. When we arrived a band was playing, a pie eating contest, and other family games were underway. They also had multiple fire pits lit and were we are able to sit in Adirondacks in the Adirondacks. It was great sitting around the fire and talking with other quests. The lodge is beautiful and decorated for fall. Our room was great, with a sitting area and easy access to the lobby, game room (we enjoyed several games of pool), and a swimming pool. There is a short walk to a deck and small beach front where you can enjoy the lake. The fall colors made this a must stop. The weekend was busy with lots of guests, but considerably quieter after the weekend quests left on Sunday. We ate at the Tavern, and Patrick the bartender was awesome! He was great and we suggest they start calling it Patrick's Place. The food portions were generous and well prepared. The maple chipotle chicken wings were especially good. The bar is long with with plenty of seating, and TVs to watch sports. The lodge is within easy walking distance to several good local restaurants. We had a wonderful breakfast at Pitkins (the blueberry pancakes were fabulous), and Flanagan's Pub offered a wide variety of choices with large portions (the rueben was excellent). Lastly, the Lodge at Schroon Lake staff were cordial and eager to answer any questions or concerns. My wife and I are already talking about when we can go back and stay here gain.

Family just got back from a two night stay. Newly open and in great location. The main lodge is beautiful. Huge open room with games all over for adults and kids to play. Stunning decor. Nice game room with air hockey table no charge and pool tables. Few other games as well. Kids had a great time in there. The indoor pool is very big and warm temp. Bummed it closed at 8pm felt that was a little early. The hot tub which we were told was open was not. We were disappointed with that so if a hot tub is a priority for you definitely try to call and check first. We had a double queen suite which was beautiful veryclean and cozy. The shower is spacious. Great amount of space. The grounds need some work but in time I think will be amazing. Walking distance to the town which is convenient and enjoyable. I think if we waited and gave the hotel more time to finish things it would have been an over the top experience. Staff was attentive and very friendly.

When we went to check in on a Saturday afternoon we found a very long line. They had one customer service agent at the desk on a holiday weekend. Upon entering our room, which was a basic room with two double beds, we found lots of flying bugs in there. At least thirty. Upon inspection we found a broken window. Why it wasn't caught with housekeeping is beyond me. After another long wait at the FD we were told to wait yet again for the room director to come who was busy somewhere else on the property (I had shown them a video of the room and bugs but they still made me sit there in the lobby waiting). As we sat, we listened to numerous complaints from other guests with their own issues. Eventually the rooms director walked us back to our room to verify the bugs. After doing that, he finally had them move us to another room (the whole process took over an hour). In the new room I noticed a dead fly on the ground outside the bathroom. The rugs were clearly not vacuumed. I didn't bother calling the front desk at this point (which is hard to do because they don't have phones in their rooms). They did deliver a $10 bottle of wine to our room. We're not drinkers so it came home with us. We visited the lounge for dinner during one of the nights we stayed. It wasn't slow but it wasn't too busy. There were still multiple seats at the bar and it was past dinner rush (it was 8pm). We ordered two burgers ($40!) to go and they took forty minutes to make. We weren't impressed and did not go back to eat there. At check out, after asking about our stay, the agent said he would deduct the resort fee for the inconvenience. After checking my e-mail folio, as well as my credit card today, he didn't deduct the fee. This room cost us almost $600 for two nights!! Sadly, this was a milestone anniversary and a huge splurge on the room for us! Unfortunately, it was an awful experience.

Stayed in one of the rooms in the main lodge. Our room was nice and clean when we arrived...ONLY when we arrived. We had to ask the front desk multiple times to have housekeeping come to clean our room. We had to tell them specifically what we wanted done because the first time we had them come they did pretty much nothing, and even then they still would not do what we wanted. We asked for them to vacuum 3 times. First two times they did nothing and the 3rd it looks like they did something but not a good job. Whoever cleaned our room during our stay has zero attention to detail. If I am paying my hard earned money somewhere I expect good service. I pay attention to the small things. Whoever cleaned our room clearly did not. I understand this place is NEWLY opened though so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. Still working out some kinks and finding the right staff. The walls are also don't block out too much sound. I could hear everything going on outside in the hallways and the family above was INCREDIBLY OBNOXIOUS!!! We asked to switch our room but unfortunately they were fully booked. We were also looking forward to using the hot tub only to find out that it is under construction and no one informed us of this before we arrived. I feel like something could have been said through email. We were sent a reminder of our reservation before we arrived. Something could have been said about the hot tub along with that, but once again I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.Food at the The Brown Swan was delicious and the staff was very attentive. No complaints there.Everything else was fine. I'd like to come here again once the ship starts running smoothly. Great location. Nice small town.

Went with the wife for the weekend. This place is outstanding. So much to do without leaving the Lodge. Miniature golf , games, basketball , bar, food, volleyball , swimming Jacuzzi and much more. Food was outstanding and service was kind and courteous. Not to mention , Outdoor movie screen at night along with fire pits to get nice and cozy with your loved one. The air ,mountains , lake , stars, and fall colors put on a show for free....

We are locals and had family staying here to visit. We were able to explore a little with them during their stay! We enjoyed the Brown Swan for dinner and can say we will be back without a doubt! We also went to The Bevy for a drink after. My parents talked about their bartender Patrick non stop! He really was amazing! Very personable and down to earth, like talking to a friend and he can make a good drink too! We will definitely be doing a staycation here soon!Food & drinks: The food at the Brown Swan was hands down the best meal I’ve had in the Adirondacks!

First time staying here and had a great experience. The room was clean and comfortable, everything was all new. I had a couple questions that the front desk was super helpful in answering. It's right next town so was an easy to walk to get anything I needed. There was also a private deck and beach across the street to relax on in the sun. I didn't get a chance to use it but the night time fire place on the lawn looked awesome

Disappointed in the room. It was up 3 flights of steep stairs - no elevator. Walls and door so thin we could hear details of conversations in hall and man snoring next door. Pillows were terrible - my head sunk right to the mattress. Lobby and bar/ lounge area were wonderful - too bad it didn't extend to the room! Waayyy overpriced for what we got!

We didn't stay at the lodge but we had a great meal at the Brown Swan restaurant. The restaurant is in a historic building with views over the lake. My wife's short rib entree was excellent. My daughter had the squid ink linguine with crab which was very well done. They also have huge burgers which we saw pass by our table that looked great. We will be trying those next time. The restaurant is a great addition to the Schroon Lake dining options.

The lodge has been fully renovated and is very clean. Unfortunately the check in process was delayed and our room wasn’t ready for another 3 hours. Instead of sitting around we went to eat dinner and hanged around a bit (finally provided a room before 8pm). Upon settling in, we discovered the toilet was splitting water to the floor when flushing; we informed the front desk the night but maintenance didn’t show up until late next morning. Since it’s not a big problem, we decided to hang on for another night till check out. Overall those are small problems but they can do better given the high price. The lodge location is beautiful; right across the lake.

We stayed here for a quick weekend trip to visit friends in the area, and really liked the Lodge at Schroon Lake. Location is great to downtown, and the various lodging options make this a unique place. We stayed in the smallest stand-alone cabin (Queen Bird's Nest Cabin) - it was very nice & perfectly clean. Looking forward to trying out some of their other options in the future.
