This review is long overdue! We LOVE eating at the cafe! The quality of the food and the service is better than many "fine dining" places in the Capital District! Every waitress has now become a friend. They remember our orders and ALWAYS have a smile on their faces! The food is simply delicious and is always of the highest quality, regardless of what you order. The store is so relaxing to walk around and browse - we always find something to buy as a gift or for our home. One of our favorite businesses ever! The management must be excellent because it radiates throughout the store and cafe.

My family and I had such a pleasant lunch experience at The Apple Barrel Store + Cafe this past weekend. We met some friends at the cafe, which is the perfect halfway point for us to meet.The delicious food, delightful service, and overall atmosphere was quite pleasant and enjoyable. We enjoyed the mimosa and beer selection, plus the daily specials. The store was an extra treat to look through. We will definitely be back!Maddie/Maddy was our waitress, she was exceptional! She was very accommodating and helpful toward us, and our young children.

Came to the cafe for lunch. They allow dogs outside on the deck which is nice. So was able to bring mine. Got the bruschetta appetizer and the apple chicken open sandwich. Both were amazing and really good. The chips are homemade and good too. Also, got the homemade blueberry mint lemonade which was amazing. Service was quick and friendly and definitely recommend coming here. The pricing was decent was around $50 for 2 lunch entrees and an appetizer with drinks.

My friend and I are frequent visitors. We meet here for long lunches. One of us from the Glens Falls region, the other from the Binghamton area.The shop has all kinds of wonderful things to purchase and the cafe has all kinds of delicious things to eat.Late Spring to early Fall, there is a shaded deck to sit on.

The St Paddy's Day dinner was wonderful!The wait staff were awesome as always!You should make reservations for their events. It would be well worth it!I had the Bangers & Mash, yummmm!

After three days on the road I really needed a good, local meal and The Apple Barrel delivered! Delicious, fresh, interesting recipes and a great beer selection. The attached store has a great selection of food and gifts. Well worth the detour if you're in the area

The store had a lot of interesting items, and the staff was polite and friendly. The cafe was terrific. We had sandwiches two days in a row and they were delicious. The atmosphere was nice. The wait staff were outstanding. Will be going back whenever we're in the area.

Bought an “apple crumb” pie on 1/26 for a birthday party for just about $18. It was absolutely awful! The bottom crust was raw, the apple filling was pasty and tasteless, and the “crumb” topping was non-existent. I have purchased pies from the Apple Barrel before and they have been delicious, but this time was a huge disappointment! (I am aware that they do not bake them there.)

Such a cute little spot to have lunch, and do a little shopping in their boutique! They have a large variety of goods in their store, & their food has always been great! Customer service has always been friendly as well.

My husband and I both ordered fish and chips. Food is very fresh and made when ordered so it comes out hot. Portions are generous. Our waitress, Caroline, is excellent. She is professional, courteous and polished. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the notable wait time.

We had a delicious lunch here today. Everything is homemade and the service is excellent. Great value too. I had the open-face chicken salad sandwich with fresh apple slices and melted Swiss cheese on top. Delish! My guest had the roasted vegetable and cheese grilled panini sandwich, which he pronounced as "Perfect!" Both sandwiches came with the yummiest home-made potato chips! Do we recommend the food here? Absolutely!

Lovely cafe with a nice size menu. Tight space to enter but well worth it. The staff was fantastic my elderly dad had many food requests which were met with a smile and a willingness to assist him which is a rare trait which I am most grateful for. The food was delicious and it was a great experience out on the back roads in the beautiful countryside of midstate NY. When back in the area I look forward to my next meal there. The store was jam packed prices seemed high interesting selection.

Absolutely the best dining experience for lunch or dinner. I've never looked into breakfast but if they serve it, it's good! I don't know where they found they're chefs but they know what they're doing. And the wait staff are all outstanding!

The ham, apple and cheese sandwich was delicious. I loved all the local beer selections. It's a beautiful space to host a small gathering outside. They had the doors open which brought in a few flies that were bothersome. There's something for everyone in the gift shop.

very quaint country store with a little restaurant on the side. The food is farm fresh and delicious. My roasted turkey sandwich had garden tomatoes that tasted fresh picked. My companion had Clam chowder and a tuna melt with homemade potato chips. All was great.

The best hidden gem!! Our family stopped in for lunch on our way to the caves and had the best experience. We were instantly greeted with smiles as we were seated to our table. The sangria was delicious as were their fresh brewed iced teas with additional add on flavors ( my daughter got raspberry/peach… yum!) The lobster/shrimp soup was creamy and delicious as was the fish and chips special, cooked to perfection. The Sunshine club sandwich and Revolutionary Waldorf wrap were too good to put down to take a sip of any beverage. And the key lime pie…. Chefs kiss…. Yummy! Hands down 10 out of 10 recommend if anyone is remotely close to this area to please stop in and enjoy a meal you won’t regret and then shop at their store after for cute merch!

We had the pleasure of visiting this special little cafe and shoppe! We were meeting our granddaughter who goes to college close by. We had and amazing visit and delicious lunch. Our waitress was awesome but I forgot her name (oops)! Food was great as was every thing about the Apple Barrel! What a special little gem of a place. Highly recommend for anyone passing through! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This review is for the food only. While I walked through the store to get to the restaurant I didn't have time to stop and look. It has a very cool look and feel though and warrants a return to browse the merchandise. The wait staff was polite and we were seated right away. Lots of folks eating here at lunchtime. Fast service. The place was clean ( not to be under rated) and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals. I tried the house roast beef sandwich, half along with a bowl of the potato soup. Both were excellent. The bread was fresh baked and the roast beef was tasty but the soup was the stand out. They serve pie so naturally I had to try a slice of the apple. Turns out they don't make it there, it was a Smith's pie which is just okay. Overall it was a nice experience and if you find yourself out that way give them a try.

I stopped with a colleague to grab lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Not only is the menu fairly large but it has some very unique and eclectic dishes. I had a chicken salad sandwich on toasted brioche open-faced with apple slices and swiss cheese. The homemade potato chips were also the best I've ever had. I would highly recommend this quaint little diner to anyone. Very nice little gift shop country store attached as well.

Cute gift shop and the food is good, I ordered the chicken club, very tasty with the homemade chips, she ordered Johnny apple chicken and blue cheese, she loved every bite. It was a little busy when we got there but the service was good, remaining menu items looked delicious, my only concern is they run out too soon of the wonderful home made soups and the best of their home made deserts so if you come here come early, the locals scoop up the best fast.
