Picked up a heat and serve lasagna because I didn't have the energy to cook after visiting family in the hospital.Talked with another customer about the merits of cooking with both Sweet and Hot Italian sausage, so that everyone's happy.The cashier was efficient and friendly, we chatted about their girlfriend in cosmetology school- I'm always glad to hear about youth getting into the trades.Overall a good stop at one of my favorite local stores for good, comfort food.

We order shaved steak, cube steak & meatball mix from Sals all year long. This year is the first time I’ve ordered boneless prime rib from Sals. It was the best prime rib I’ve ever had!! I will never get a prime rib or any holiday piece of meat anywhere else. I wish I lived closer so I could just stop in and buy all of my dinner meat from Sals.

Sal’s was such a delightful experience. We grabbed a few cuts of meat for our meals this week. Everything was amazing. The pre-cooked eggplant parm was some of the best eggplant parm I have ever eaten. The customer service was top notch.

I told Sal’s knowledgeable and friendly counter staff at that I needed steaks for an upcoming dinner; and that I’m a traditional charcoal BBQ cooker. Sal’s suggested teres major for my BBQ, prepared with salt and pepper. I never heard of this cut of beef and did some online research. It’s located right below the front leg and “mostly know only by skilled butchers”. It’s also known as shoulder tender or shoulder filet steak. I split my order with porterhouse and teres major. The delectable porterhouse quickly disappeared while I cooked the teres major on the BBQ. They were delicious, tender and flavorful. I will gladly get these steaks again. Kudos to Sal’s crew for recommending them.

Sal's is the old school butcher shop that you rarely see around this area these days. Their prices are reasonable and the quality is always on point. Whether cooking a meal for yourself or dozens of people, this is the butcher for you!

Sals used to be a great place to go. The customer service the last couple times has been very bad. Today my husband went to get some items and saw a new item. He was going to buy it to try and was told it was not for sale even thought it was in showcase. My husband then asked why it would be out in the case if not for sale and the man behind the counter got very rude and threw a bag at my husband down the counter and Said fine it will be $50.00. Totally uncalled for, rude and sooo unprofessional.

I can't say enough great thing's about Sal's! Been going there for years.. Their meat is always fresh top quality and, Boars Head cold cuts reasonably priced! They even sell Lupo's speedie sauce best ever for speedies! Awesome staff and it smells like my Grandma's kitchen... What more could you ask for! 😁.

I love coming here for lunch! They have great quality sandwiches for a great price. It also helps that everyone who works here is super friendly. It definitely has that "mom and pop" charm to it. 10/10 would recommend.

The best customer service and quality tasting meats. They also have great tasting homemade sauce and meatball mix that is made fresh daily. They have different options for different sized quality meat packages too. It was well worth driving 25 miles for me to purchase the best tasting meats

First time visit today. I wanted to try their roast beef and I also decided to grab a couple of subs for our dinner tonight. While the roast beef itself was fantastic, the actual sub sandwiches were....much less than that. Someone up above in one of the comments said 'best subs in the Capital Region.' I can only assume they were 'making a funny' because truly, as seen in the photo below, that is a joke. I also can only hope that the person behind the deli today was just rushed or it was an off day or something. Not at all impressed with the subs, but since it was my first time here and the whole of the reviews about the place are good, I will be back once more and hopefully I will have a better experience.

WOW! What a discovery! This place was mentioned by a cook doing a spot on summer burgers on TV. She said she got her meat here. I have been looking for a great butcher shop in this area for years and decided to try it. Staff was knowledgeable, attentive and polite. Fresh meat, prepared food, even the frozen seafood looks terrific. I'll never go back to Price Chopper for (blech) meat again.

The best hands down. We used to live down the street and went at least once a week, now I travel almost 40 minutes at least once a month just to go there. Their subs are the best in the capital region and their meatball mix is unparalleled.

Im a generous customer. I gave them three chances to correct themselves with the rotten chicken and expired butter in the cooler. Went there to get boneless chicken thighs Monday, and they were rotten by Tuesday evening. Shame on you! The chicken was rotten again!!! This was after I addressed spoiled food with the disrespectful bigshot son owner. You should close the doors and open a foot parifin there. My gf and her bff Kelly (Canadian super model) would go. My child would have been yammying bigtime if i made the Milanese Chicken dish that night. I'm never going here again! They are disrespectful to me and overcharge as well. Going to super market from now on for fresh quality meats. I will also pay more at the supermarket for all of my dry pantry goods as well.
