This place peaked my interest because it is always jam packed when I come downtown on Sundays. Yesterday I decided to give it a try and all I can say is wow, I found my new favorite spot in Schenectady!I had a hard time choosing my Latte because so many sounded so good, but I went with one of their favorites on the chalk sign, the Baklava, YUM!!!! I got a banana muffin to go with it and a breakfast sandwich that had avocado and spring mix, and both were delicious. They told me the muffins are made there and you could tell, fresh and amazing. ♡While I was waiting for my food (which was not long, surprising with the line).I heard one of the staff from the kitchen talking with people as she brought their food, and I loved she knew so many people by name.They obviously have a lot of regulars, and I can see why! The food was excellent and the service and atmosphere felt like being a guest in a friend's home. I'll definitely be back! Great job Bud's on Jay!- Lauren

Great little spot for coffee & breakfast or lunch!Really happy to come here, they have a nice cozy spot at the start of Jay St, right across from Johnny’s. Perfect for a quick coffee or bite, or stay and relax and have a seat outside. I didn’t get the coffee this time but the breakfast sandwich was EXCELLENT and the bagel was delicious. Service was top notch, I really can’t wait to come back and try a latte!

Corned beef hash was decent but could stand to be crispy, was a bit mushy. Got bagel for avocado toast so it could survive delivery, but they didn't toast it. Also it could of used salt. Breakfast burrito was ok, could use some sorta sauce and crispier potatoes.A couple items were missing, but that could of been the door dashers faultCoffee was good!

Continuing my mission on finding great cold brew I ran to Buds On Jay and I'll easily be going back for a good cold brew fix when needed! I also had the Vegan Breakfast Burrito with Seitan and it has me excited to check out the rest of their menu. The location is very convenient and the service was quick & friendly. The place itself has a fun chill vibe and the pet items shelf sold me on wanting to support this local business, I'm ready for my next visit!

1st time trying this spot. Needed to get breakfast in the heart of downtown Schenectady and they were the ONLY restaurant open to serve in the Jay St. area(Very Reliable). If youre looking for a good breakfast, the Quality is worth the visit. World's best cup of coffee!Vegetarian options: Vegan meat options. Very good breakfast spot with excellent coffee. This place also sells artists works which is a neat concept. The staff is very friendly and their service is great. I highly recommend this place if you are near.

This is a pretty good spot! We ordered 2 coffees and 2 breakfast sandwiches. The coffee is good and the staff is super friendly/helpful. Prices are also reasonable!As for the breakfast sandwiches, they lacked flavor and were a bit soggy/greasy. I’m sure this is not a regular thing but the sandwiches took 30 minutes to come out and it wasn’t very busy when we ordered.The inside portion of the cafe is smaller with limited seating, it has a cool atmosphere if it’s not packed with people(not much you can do about being busy!)Outside seating is spacious and also has an awesome and relaxing vibe to it if the weather cooperates.Overall good experience and would definitely go back, but I’d skip the breakfast sandwiches and try something off of the large menu.

Bagel seemed to be microwaved, not toasted: very chewy, with no crunch at all .Barista forgot my coffee order, and had to be reminded. Also forgot what kind of milk I asked for.

Small cozy place to enjoy breakfast be fore you start you're day. Fresh bean coffee and healthy breakfast.Parking: Make sure if you park on the main steet to have quarters to pay for the parking meter.

Great service & fantastic coffee. Very polite. My only disappointment was my breakfast was overseasoned & too salty. I felt bad for spending the money in light of that. I have however been pleased with their breakfast sandwiches to go.Vegetarian options: Pretty decent

So they are a cute little spot however their coffee in the morning is so bad like not sure just tastes burnt, in the summertime when college students are working it's great however don't get matcha from here because they don't make it right its more like milk with some teaDietary restrictions: Very good with milk choices

UPDATE: APRIL 2024,I arrived early around 5 mins after opening time, there was one person ahead of me, they ordered, then the person behind the counter DECIDED to take many more orders for people who came in several MINUTES AFTER in addition, to also taking an order on the phone; by the time the person behind the counter FINALLY started preparing my order,8 minute has gone by and my ride was already scheduled to my be delayed, but I still missed it because right when I was crossing the street, my transportation passed me by and arrived at work late.Due to the facts:1.Pointless waiting to take SEVERAL people orders BEFORE EVEN getting started on the orders of people who have been waiting.2. waiting excessively before my order was even completed.Bravo and shout to Buds on Jay for the recent “service” and making me late to work!

The service was very good, food also was quite satisfactory! Just a bit more added to my serving of home fries would have been good, however, I will go back there again. I have to give it a 5 star overall rating. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Thanks again for good service and tasty food
