Dr. Gomberg is a very, very good vet and truly cares about the animals. She helped me through a very rough treatment for my sick kitty. If it weren't for her and the other members of the team my kitty probably wouldn't have made it.

The previous place that spayed my cat didn't even bother to put a cone on her, despite using glue for the incisions. They were so careless, risking my cat's health! Thank goodness the same day I went to Banfield—they quickly fixed her up with a proper cone. And to top it off, the person who helped me at Banfield was the only good thing about the whole ordeal. Very cute too, respectfully. I wish I knew their name to give them credit they had cute longer hair in a cherry clip! ♡

“Get our premium plan that way your spaying is paid for over the course of a year” and then, before asking permission, when my dog is only there for a spay, do a bunch of tests when we already said no and then charge us? Yeah no, tickle my taint until I faint!!!!

Went to drop my dog off today and the woman at the front desk was unable to tell me the difference between wellness plans and snatched documents out of my hand. When I alerted her that she had just snatched documents out of my hands she told me how she must've had too much coffee instead of apologizing. My dog will never go here again we will stick to Latham Banfield where it is professional and welcoming

After my vet merged I had to find a new vet. I brought my 6month old puppy to get spayed. It was the first time I adopted without already being fixed. I had no idea what to expect. The staff filled me in and helped me every step of the way. The level of care and communication is unmatched.

I wanted to take the time to write a great review for this place because the receptionists were so amazing and helpful, and the staff was able to get us in same day! My puppy needed a vaccination that day in order to attend an upcoming puppy class and I called Banfield Pet Hospital because my regular vet cancelled last minute. I explained the situation, and the receptionist was so helpful and was able to get us an appointment within a few hours. The price was great! The staff was exceptionally sweet and helpful. The environment was clean and stress free. The experience was so quick and easy. I would 100% recommend this veterinarian, and I will be using them as my primary vet in the future.

Don't even deserve one star honestly. Be warned, prepare yourself for attitude. I would get nasty attitude everytime i called. Last time i called a whole hour before close time, then kept me in hold til they closed. No customer service skills at all.

They always take such great care of my pups. The vet always explains the situation going on with my dog and I'm able to understand perfectly. They seem to really care as if it's their own pet.

We’ve been coming to Banfield Hospitals for a few years. We started in Maryland and then went to one in Arizona. Finally, we moved to NY in 2021 and have been coming to this location ever since. I subscribe for my dog and like the services they have available. The staff is usually very friendly and informative and they are extremely kind to my pup!I’m very happy with the service and will continue to use them.

The two veterinarians I’ve seen, are very nice, but the people that work at the front desk, could use some training in customer service. They are rude at times, and lack any kind of empathy. I had one hangup on me before I was even done talking on the phone call.It’s stressful enough to bring in an animal that you love that is not well on top of knowing the vet bills probably going to be very high, to have to deal with unkind people before you even get in the back.

If you value and care about your pet, stay away from here. I think my dog came back traumatized. We checked him in promptly at 9:00 am and until after 4:00 pm when I called and waited 20 minutes on the phone, they told me he was ready. I also waited almost 30 minutes since the Front Desk was so Slow. The front desk staff appears like it's not their job and they are doing the person a favor there. Also, the racial preferential vibes from the front desk staff who didn't even care to bother there was a line build up. I had another issue when my dog was younger and they give him 3 vaccines at once which I told them to inform me about then next time before they do something like that. Because I would not even let the Doctor give my kids 3 vaccines at once. Stay away from here if you care and love your dog.

My dog would shake uncontrollably when I would take her to Banfield. They gave her pink eye and couldn’t even detect her heart murmur. I don’t recommend them. They only want your money. They can’t even handle emergencies, why pay for a monthly vet membership when they only do surface work? Find a more qualified place.

We have been a client with Banfield of Niskayuna for years. Always a pleasant reception there. Our veterinarian is Dr Gomberg. She's amazing! Truly loves animals and shows it when she talks to your furkid! We've had many conversations over the years about many issues with both our cats and dogs. Her suggestions have been spot on. My present Cocker Spaniel is a bit of a nervous guy but doesn't show it when we go there at all. That's a big tell rite there as to how he's treated there. Makes me feel good when I drop him off for checkups or sick visits.Only downside unfortunately is the check-in and pick-up. It is usually a good 20 minute or so wait/process. Hopefully they realize this and can try to expedite better.

I have had nothing but good experiences with Banfield. Dr. Gomberg in Niskayuna is wonderful, takes her time explaining and listening to concerns, and my animals love her. No one likes having to go to the vet, but all of the doctors I've seen have been great.

I made a new urgent visit appt this morning for my elderly pug with coughing symptoms as our regular vet couldn't fit him in for a week. The receptionist got a big snarky on the phone when I inquired of they can do xrays there, saying I don't see why they would need to do xrays for a cough. I explained that an enlarged heart can cause coughing. The receptionist did not inform me that I would need to bring records, and upon arrival they wanted to give him a rabies shot before they could treat him. Trying to get his records was made to seem like an unworthy effort. I have been to all the best places in the Captial District (Upstate,Shaker, Village, etc) for various urgent pug related issues (eye injury, urinary blockages, and eating stuff he shouldn't have) and have never had this issue. I found his records in my email sent from vet with his shot registration #, date, vet etc and showed it to the receptionist and she said she didn't think it was good enough but to email it to her. Here's the thing....the email got unknowingly bounced back to me but she pretended the vet viewed it and said it wasnt good enough. The receptionist did call an hour later to apologize and say I could bring him back (at that time I was already seeking care somewhere else 15 miles away. I guess maybe she realized there was no email to review and panicked o maybe they legitimately realized that or was a bad call (extra star in case the latter is true)). In any case, over vaccination is also not good for your pet and I didn't see any evidence that this business cares about their customers or the pets they see.

If I could give a zero I would. I have been taking my pet to the Niskayuna Banfield for 17 years and I have had some good and bad experiences that never bothered me because my pet came first. My pet had passed recently and I didn’t call Banfield to notify about my pet or to cancel my plan. I received a call to schedule an appointment for my pet as she needed a comp exam. I called the Niskayuna Banfield to let them know I won’t need an appointment as to I have to cancel the wellness plan and I need the number to do that . The female I spoke to gave me the number and told me I will have to pay the whole remaining year of the one year contract I told her I wasn’t aware of that I will call corporate and call her back. After speaking to corporate I called the Banfield Niskayuna back to have my pet removed from the calling list as she has passed and no longer needs services and she replied ok we are aware of that. I said how are you aware of it I’m telling you now that she has passed. All she had to say to me was ok I’ll remove her. She didn’t even say I’m sorry for your loss or give any kind of condolence. After 17 years of service I would think they would have some kind of decency but I was wrong. I have had several bad encounters at this hospital,not with the vets but with other staff and I have always brushed it off but this one hit the nerve for me. DO NOT take your pet to this place as they have no sympathy. The staff is rude and the attitude is ridiculous. This sucks because you put your pet first and don’t need this in your life. Take your pet elsewhere not Niskayuna Banfield.

Mr Frick is getting very old do I was worried about what I would hear when I took him in for extreme weight loss. They knew this so hurried to let me know as soon as they knew that his condition wasn't as bad as I'd feared and was treatable. The clinic is everything my pet needs. Moreover they accept new patients. It was so hard for me to find a clinic that would accept my dog as a new patient, which is a weird requirement considering that anyone might need treatment. We came for a bordatela vaccine and the assistant was very nice and friendly. They performed all the necessary checkups and observed the dog for a few hours afterwards. The doctor explained all the procedures that were performed and handed detailed instructions. My dog felt good after the visit. No issues whatsoever.

I had a horrible time here, not once but twice. First time was a few years back when I discussed my dogs anxiety to the vet he told me to put her down or deal with it... this time they were very cold and not understanding at all. My dog had a huge lump on her butt, I told them it looks like an anal gland or a hemorrhoid... before even looking at it the vet tech already said it was an anal gland. The vet tech told me she would take my dog into the back to have the vet take a physical look at the butt, vet didn’t even come to talk to me before looking at my dog, so she took my dog in the back and then I hear her screaming and crying more so than she would with just a physical. The vet comes in w my dog a few minutes later, my dog has blood dripping out of her butt and it’s all over her tail, the vet told me she expressed her anal glands and it ruptured and that it was going to drain and told me I could buy diapers... didn’t bother to put one on her or clean her up before they sent us out the door. My dog had lost a few pounds since last visit which she could lose more but the vet didn’t even bother to look at her chart and told me she gained weight and needs to lose weight but if she looked in the chart she’d see she lost 4 lbs and she didn’t even give me tips on how to do it, and she disregarded my talk about Luna’s anxiety and told me to get an in home trainer and pushed us out the door. It seemed like they only cared about the money, forcing me to get her a new rabies shot when I told them she already had one and told me they would turn her away if I didn’t even this being an emergency situation.the vet tech kept talking down to me. The ONLY person I was able to get information out of and who cared about my dog was the girl at the desk, she wrote down tips for her diet and her behavior. I couldn’t thank her enough. I will no longer be going to this vet.

My dog had an appointment at 11:30 this morning. We are members of the Optimum Wellness Plan and I have been paying this vet for 3 and a half years to care for her. I was a little late for my appointment, about 10 minutes and then I stood in the waiting area for another few minutes waiting to be helped...even though I could see a handful of associates chatting in the back room. When I was finally helped, I apologized for being late and I was rudely informed that I would have to reschedule my appointment. Ten minutes late. I drove 45 minutes to get to that appointment. I work 50-60 hours a week and don't have a regular schedule...I do not get a regular day off and planning for this appointment was a month in the making. I have never been treated so poorly in any customer service related industry, especially not one that I trust to care for the most important little creature in my life. I pay for her to have these appointments every month, whether we actually attend your facility or not. I am absolutely disgusted with this experience.

Excellent Veterinary Care. I've subscribed to the Banfield Preventive Care plan for 12 years and used Banfield hospitals in at least ten states while traveling for work with pets. I've had only one bad experience and it was not at this hospital. I've not had problems with wait times or other issues on which other users commented. Like you, my pets are family to me and I feel comfortable having the Banfield team care for my animals.

What happened? I didn't know we had a balance due and they were rude like we were criminals. In fairness we need to pay it but their attitude was horrendous. One person said we had to pay cash and on a second callback a bit later the other man said no matter what we aren't welcome there. Uh okay.I'm off to call their accounting/billing and afterwards calling their 800 corporate
