The Tiny Raccoon is a really good place to find your next read. Be it a steamy romance, a documentary, or a have you on the edge of your seat thriller, you'll find it there.

Carries diverse collection that represents a great cross section of genres. Love the unique pop up events and supports local authors. This store is terrific. Owner is very responsive, book ordering is quick, prices can't be beat for those "heart print" books you just have to own or pass on/ gift. Definitely stop here!

Wonderful bookstore with a wide range of selections across many different genres. Very welcoming vibe and really trying to be not just a bookstore but a part of the reading community. A small place with a very big heart!

Tiny Raccoon Books in Sayville is an awesome bookshop. It has a large selection of used books in great condition, very reasonably priced. Lots of new books too! In addition really friendly and helpful owner. Love how organized it is so you can quickly find titles & authors. Artist talks and signings. Love to support the indie bookstores. Highly recommend!

Not just a good book shop! Daniel had created a place for members of the community to come together. Books on political activism, mycology, punk music history and the new Dog Man all meet in one place at Tiny Racoon Books. A safe and fun space for everyone ❤️

This used bookstore just recently opened in April. The owner is super friendly and will help you find your next read. They also host in person events twice a month. It’s exciting to have a place where you can not only buy books but also meet like-minded people and engage with the local community. They also accept book donations, but you should check in with the owner before you drop your books here.

This bookstore is a quiet little dream, full of all different kinds of books. It is clean, bright, reasonably priced, and Daniel is always welcoming to me and my whole family, including Bad Dog Julius. It is clear that Daniel loves books, and takes great pride and pleasure in discussing and recommending books to other people who also love reading.

So happy to have this great little bookstore in our town. I love that not only can you browse for used books (and some new titles as well), but they can get you pretty much whatever new book you're looking for as well. Wishing them lots of success.

The employees there made me very uncomfortable. They kept watching and following me around the store. I felt like some kind of criminal even though I hadn't done anything wrong. I left soon after because of this weird and unwelcoming environment. Do better!Edit: And now the owner is accusing my review of being fake? Just wow. Perhaps THEY were not the one giving me side-eyes and pretending to straighten up merchandise near me, but to call my experience FRAUDULENT is so disgusting... I am seriously appalled. I'm surprised I'm the only one star review. Based off the response I received, I wouldn't doubt the owner gets other bad reviews REMOVED.

Great selection and phenomenal community events. Particularly good music and politics selections, along with all the guilty pleasure used paperback fiction make this everything I want in a bookstore.

This is a fabulous bookstore that really serves the south shore area of Long Island. Dan has been terrific in his support of local book authors such as myself, and I appreciate it very much!!!

So glad that there is a new(ish) bookstore in Sayville. I was happy to find a varied selection of new and used books, many of which are about New York, the Long Island area and Fire Island. The owner was friendly & welcoming to both me and all other people who walked in while I was there.

I was in Sayville to ride the ferry to Fire Island. Had some time in the afternoon to spend before the boat ride, so I walked into this store. I was just looking for James Patterson novels. The store had all kinds of liberal extremist material. Staff seemed standoffish, and I even caught them whispering to each other after they noticed my Vietnam Veteran baseball cap. It’s a sad state of affairs in America today, and spots like this are a reason why.

What a delightful edition to the Sayville scene. Located just south of the RR Sta. on RR Ave. travelers to and from Fire Island will fine this a refreshing stop to buy a good beach or train read. Tiny Racoons offers book talks as well. As an author, I am so thrilled to see an Indy Bookstore take off. Can't wait to do my own book talk there. Check it out.

Absolutely amazing experience! I went here for Silent Book Club, even though I came with 2 options of my own to start reading, i purchased a book I saw on the shelves! So many treasures in this little hideaway! My mom loves the Beatles and Daniel, the owner, found a few options for her as well. He has a bit of everything, and if it's not there he will most likely find it for you! I had been looking for a Hunter S. Thompson book I lost in a flood for YEARS and Daniel had it there within a week! I adore this place! So so happy my book club introduced me to it. So long Amazon, I'm using Tiny Raccoon Books from now on!🤓

Just went today to look for some Stephen King. Owner was super down to earth and even gave me another box of King to look through. Great collection and great vibes, this place is my new spot.

Visited this past weekend with my family, girlfriend, and dog. Awesome place! I was pumped when I heard we were getting a used bookstore in Sayville. All of the used books were in really good condition and priced very well (you could get about 10x as many books here as you could for the same price at a Barnes and Noble). The inside looked awesome, and the shelves were stacked with an incredible selection of books of all kinds. Personally I’m into classic literature and radical non-fiction and could have browsed the place for hours. The selection was far superior to any Barnes and Noble I’d been too, especially if you’re looking for books on radical politics. The owner is super nice as well. Overall a great experience and I plan to visit again very soon

Stopped by here today and what a nice bookstore this is! They have mainly used books but also some new ones and there’s something for everyone with a lot of different genres on the shelf. The owner as well is very nice and helpful. This store fits in so well for Sayville and it’s so nice to see a small business owned book store again since there are so few nowadays. Definitely stop by and take a look!

I visited the store on December 13th. Unbeknownst to me, there was a book reading that night by Ken Neubeck. It was essentially a glorification of American military violence and hypermasculinity. Not at all what I expected. The event and the atmosphere was extremely disturbing.

The owner Daniel is so welcoming and knowledgeable. I walked around the bookstore and spoke to Daniel for two hours and ended up coming back the next day for the side walk sale. I’m so happy to have a local bookstore in the area and cannot wait to keep going back. Daniel also said that if there are any books I wanted to order it wouldn’t be a problem. Goodbye Amazon and Barnes and Nobles, Hello Tiny Raccoon Books.

TRB will be your new favorite bookstore after your first visit. The staff were helpful and patient finding titles for my rambunctious toddler. Pretty cool that a bookstore hosts punk rock shows. 11 out 10.

This is the best Indie Bookstore on Long Island. Their shelves are bursting with books of all genres. You can find great used books as well as new ones. Daniel will help you find just the right book. I always leave with an armful! Be sure to check out the events too!

So happy to have a local bookstore near me! There are too few of them. This store is awesome, the owner is very friendly and helpful, and the stock is a great combination of unique used books and new popular reads. Most of the bookstores I know on LI are much further from me so this is a great addition and I'll definitely be back!
