We have been touring some of the area's icee cream stands. This time it was Sawyer Ice Cream Company. This is a newer Ice Cream stand that replaced a long time car wash. People may miss the car wash, but gained an ice cream stand.It was quiet when we were there. So there was no waiting to be served. I ordered a Sawyer Swirl, which is like a Dairy Queen Blizzard. This has been my common frame of reference. It's been this treat with vanilla ice cream and peanut butter cups mixed in at each ice cream stand.I am happy to say it was quite good. As I told the wife, I would not make a special trip to bypass one place for the other. The three places we have been in the last week made this treat, with some different names. All of them had good ice cream. All of them were made slightly different. The Sawyer swirl was mixed well, with some extra on top.The down side is that Sawyer was $1 more for the same size treat. This was not a deal breaker, but it was noticeable. There was a decent amount of parking on a nice newly paved parking area. They had four or five tables under the awning in front to sit and enjoy your treat.All in all, Sawyer Ice Cream Company was a nice addition to Saugerties. My ice cream was good. Maybe not the cheapest, but still good. As such, I recommend them.

Sawyer’s is our favorite place for soft serve on this side of the river! It is as good at Holy Cow which is … like, basically impossible. We have gone several times, and the milkshakes, hard ice-cream, and soft serve have always been delicious and really consistent both in quality and in taste.Also, we found out they just started offering little soft serve cups for your little doggy, ours was in heaven! I’m glad they added it because each time we have gone she tags along in the car and always tries (and does not succeed) to swipe a lick or two, and gets a little sassy when she realized our ice cream was not for her.You really saved us from ending up back in the doghouse, she really can hold a grudge sometimes.I think being able to have her first ever soft serve was a core memory forming moment for her, haha. Anyway, definitely try here. It’s great!P.S. They need a website so badly! I’ve been waiting since day one, and Facebook is not the best or most accessible way for patrons to access more detailed info about the menu items, hard flavors available, etc.P.P.S Miso wouldn’t be terribly mad if you ever wanted to give her a little limelight and use these pics for any posts you may make in the future. 🐕

Beautiful old fashion looking ice cream place, love the decor. The ice cream was delicious (banana Oreo cookie flavor) ice cream sundae 🍨 fast, friendly service. Nice outdoor seating!

Lots of great ice cream parlors in the area, 4 or 5 just in Saugerties and we like them all for different things, eg, Alleyways unique handmade small batch flavors, Mickeys for the friendly vibe and people chatting at sometimes getting to know each other at the benches outside, etc. Sawyer's stands out for the variety of philanthropic and generous things the owner does, which are remarkable--I'd love to meet him sometime and talk about some of his initiatives: a tricked out restored antique ice cream truck that he brings to children's hospitals with free ice cream, a pet adoption thing, car shows... sounds like a just incredible guy. And the back to Sawyer's ice cream: the smoothest/richest best soft chocolate I may have ever had--it practically tastes like chocolate custard, it's so good. Thanks for all you're doing and we'll miss you until you re-open in spring!

Who would've known, Sawyer Motors would make an amazing Ice Cream Company. There's a wide variety of flavors. I've stumbled across this place while I was on my stay at Catskills, and I'm glad I decided to visit. I visited a day before I had to leave Catskills, and it was so good I made my way back for another visit the day I left Catskills. I pick up super thick milkshake before driving back down to the nyc. A+ Service/Ice Cream, Very clean facility/bathroom. Highly recommend.

The ice cream is good and flavorful. The Sudaes are a little lackluster. They serve them in these drink cups which feels kind of sad. I like a big bowl sundae and in the cup you just feel like it's a glorified McFlurry and for almost $10. It's not that great.
