Cute little motel with eccentric decor theme. They have steam room, sauna, hot tub facilities which can be reserved for fixed time slots.I really liked their breakfast system as well, which allowed us to choose breakfast items the night before, and pick them up by a certain time the next day.The receptionist was a lovely lady. She offered us cookies and told us about all the free perks our booking came with as we entered the reception 😁🍪Rooms: Eccentric decorWalkability: Nice eateries at walking distance

The ratings speak for themselves. This is legitimately the most amazing motel ever created by mankind. I live in the central Florida area and grew up going to theme parks like Disney and Universal. The quality of these rooms is even higher than these iconic parks! We stayed in "The Final Frontier", which is set up like a space station. It was unbelievable! They created this crazy led star system that mimics the night sky complete with shooting stars. There are futuristic lighting fixtures everywhere and a picture window on the second story bedroom looking down to the living area that makes it look like the bridge of a space ship.My description can't even begin to bring it justice so please look at the posted photos. And honestly, the photos won't either...you have to come visit to experience it yourself! My kids absolutely loved it and we are going to be coming back to visit every time we come to NY.Pro tip: "The Final Frontier" is one of the rooms that can accommodate 5 people because of the pull out couch. Don't forget to add the craft beer package when you book! That was a nice touch.

An absolute gem. We stayed the last week of January. And split our time between this and the strattonfalls location. The facility didn't seem very busy at all. We were able to book the shimmer spa times easily. Highly recommend spa. The room was very clean, staff very friendly, and complimentary breakfast items were a plus. Was perfect for our romantic getaway. We look forward to coming backRooms: Very clean. Theme were very well done. Decor was very well thought out

Love love love. My husband and I have stayed here in 3 times. It is a wonderful overnight trip for us from Dutchess County. The rooms are always extremely clean. The staff are very kind and welcoming. You’re made to feel like your stay is the most important task which I really admire. The themed rooms are an added bonus. Hoping to stay at Stratton Falls one day.Rooms: Rooms are spacious and CLEAN!Walkability: The small village/town is walkable if you are able to withstand a small hill.

I absolutely loved our stay! So interesting very friendly staff! We stayed in room 14 the go go or I called it the breakfast at Tiffany’s room was beautiful! Con the shower head needed to be replaced no tub available only shower bed was hard barely slept but that’s not their fault some people like firm beds! But I definitely recommend going there and experiencing everything it’s super cool!

We spent the night to celebrate Halloween and our 4th Weddinf anniversary. What a quiet little town and beautiful location. The room was perfect! Very clean, the staff were great. Loved being able to reserve the hot tub and sauna for ourselves and the breakfast was probably one of the better options for a hotel stay. Really fun and we enjoyed our time. Thank you to the staff who also gave us complementary champagne to celebrate!

This place is SO unique- I highly recommend checking it out. I stayed at the motel, and the only reason I can’t give five stars is because of the room smell (very moldy/moist smells from the window unit AC). I had a friend staying at the location at Stratton Falls and it didn’t smell. The pool and pool service there was excellent. The breakfast is pretty limited, so would recommend going to the nearby cafe instead. They had nice drinks for a reasonable cost in the rooms. They were clean, and of course very interesting decor. I would go again but wouldn’t stay at the motel location, I’d try the other one that seems newer.

This place is fabulous! The Digs was perfect for two couples. Great weekend, getaway. Very relaxing. The rooms are so crazy decorated, you keep seeing new things with each look around! There is really not to offer for food or a nightlife. You have to drive a town or two over. If you are looking to unplug and enjoy your vacation space, this is it.Staff is amazing! Very helpful.Breakfast in a bag for pick up at the front desk or delivery to your room was great. Nice selection of continental style items. Easy order online the day before.Highly recommend everyone experience The Roxbury!

The Roxbury was all that AND MORE! I wanted to stay in the Wizard of Oz room and I was WOW’d! To say that there are details would be the understatement of the YEAR! On top of that, it was the cleanest and most sanitary place I have ever stayed. And did I mention the friendly staff? The grounds are pristine and FUN! The local restaurants are superb. My hubs and I can’t wait to return. The question is, what room next?

Everything about The Roxbury was amazing! The themed rooms are so beautiful, detailed and well thought out. The room was extremely clean and perfect when I arrived. They didn't miss a beat! They have a spa to just relax in. Plus the outside space to sit by the flowers and appreciate nature is wonderful. You also can visit their Stratton Falls location and utilize their pool, spa rooms and see the waterfall! The waterfall was breathtaking! The owners are so kind and helpful along with all of the Roxbury staff! I recommend staying here! I will most definitely be back!!!

What a gem! Everything about the stay was just perfect- smooth check in process, beautiful building, spacious parking, fantastic room (noir boudoir) with huge and comfortable beds and great amenities. A few nice restaurants and cafes within a walking distance. I would definitely love to come back! Oh and P.S. On the way here I read a review mentioning spiders and I was a bit hesitant- for those who have arachnophobia like me-please do not worry, no spiders in sight!

Fantastic hotel, one of the best I've stayed in. Disney level decor, stayed in Maryann's Coconut Cream Pie and everything from the bed to the giant tub was splendid. Breakfast was very nice, first time I've really enjoyed a hotel breakfast. Location is good, very close to restaurants with deceptively good food for their price. Spa was very pleasant as well with a nice hot tub and shower with soaps for when you get out (also a sauna though we didn't end of trying it). Do keep in mind they are reservation and don't go super late so plan around it. Also! Important note for those who don't go to the Catskills often: apparently there is an alarm that signals the fire brigade to different parts of the region, but it sounds like an air raid siren. Don't be alarmed if you hear it lol, only happened once during stay. Definitely will be coming back here again to try other rooms, may even take friends to the falls location.

I could never say enough wonderful things about the Roxbury Experience. If you are seeking a unique and unconventional experience to soothe your wildest of fantasies, this is most definitely your place. This is a one of kind experience as each room is themed and there is no detail sparred. The time and effort taken to construct and maintain these rooms and grounds is absolutely remarkable! You would be very hard pressed to find a similar experience anywhere else. We’ve stayed three times and we plan to return several more times. Our last stay was in the mansion in the Brothers Stratton room. I’m posting photos so you can see the features of this room in particular. It was absolutely stunning. The beds are comfy the room was cozy and the ambience a delight. Both the Inn and the Motel have dining options very close by. The room and grounds were immaculate. Truly a wonderful and highly recommended experience. We will be back!

The most unique and fun room I've ever stayed at! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The housekeeper, Kim, was outstanding and made our stay even more enjoyable! My only disappointment was that I had only booked one night! I wish I had booked several and stayed in the different rooms. I stayed in the Crown of the Pendragons and it was amazing. The attention to detail was incredible and loved the amazing bathroom on the second floor! I was also impressed with how clean everything was and it felt extremely cozy for being in a castle-type room. I also loved the walk down to the falls. I can't say enough great things about this place, I will 100% be returning and I look forward to experiencing another themed cottage! Thanks Roxbury Motel for letting me feel like a kid again!Update:Staying again tonight (3/8/23) and am in the Galileo Room and it was incredible. They remembered me from January too. Another stunning and fun room. I can't wait for the next stay and enjoy being a kid again in another exciting room!

My kids and I are doing 4clsroadtrip this summer. There are several libraries in the Delaware County. I looked at all the hotels/motels around and decided to spend a night in the Roxbury Motel. From the website, I could feel the details and immense hard work people put in to provide the unique experience. We got the Marias Curtains (inspired by the Sound of the Music) The parking felt a little tight, but we were lucky that our side didn't get as crowded (yet) on Tue night. We were on the second floor and there was no elevator. Luckily, we managed! Lots of restaurants are only open from Thur to Sun. Getting food in that area may be challenging during early weekdays. There was a serious lack if labor. Delivery in the area was slow. (I hope 4cls can generate more tourists. There is still over a month to complete the roadtrip. I believe lots of my library friends and enthusiasts would love to take the challenge and possibly some recommendations from my experience) Anyways, we entered the office and the lady worked there was extremely welcoming and nice and helpful. My 3 yo loved all the funky skeleton furniture and lost her mind right from the start of this adventure. The card didn't work very well to open the door. It took several tries to get to the magical angle or luck or whatever before the door became unlocked. When I opened the door, my kids (6, 3, and 1) were wowing non-stop. They believed they entered some fairy tale land. (Wait until you see their Genie room when yomama saves up more!) I loved the pool pictures but didn't schedule because of many uncertainties(weather, our travel schedule with 3 kids, etc) I loved how sanitizers could be easily found everywhere. The tub was amazing. It was big enough to fit everyone in there. It was clean. The water temperature was easy to control and maintain. It made up for missing the pool. The pull out beds were fun for the kids. The fridge didn't have the frozen compartment but the ice machine was right outside our door. The room had great sound proof (or we didn't have neighbors) It was very quiet. The toilet was in a further room which was nicely and subtly heated which was very nice. The tile by the bathroom mirror had someone's signature and the font reminded me of the beginning credit of AHS (:p) I enjoyed all these details. I would say that for people with small children, the glass surfaces on lots of furniture might need more attention. Luckily mine didn't decide to do anything crazy that day. One of them kept trying to dial the phone and pull all the tissues out from the side tissue box whenever I looked elsewhere. The breakfast needs registration online. It was easy to order. They delivered them to our room. We wished we could stay longer or check out other rooms there, so all of them decided to make some sad grumpy faces when we were leaving. I hope 4cls can continue the roadtrip game and hopefully coordinate with businesses in the area more(restaurants, hotels,...) because there are lots of people who like to travel. I had to do lots of planning on my own and many people didn't have the time to even plan. There's so much to love in this area. (Try driving from Roxbury Library to Cannon Free Library. I almost cried when I drove on a tiny road across the bridge. That was the moment when I truly felt "the hills are alive..." I also hope the Roxbury Motel continues to do very well and expands the experience in everywhere it can.Rooms: Rooms are great. There's no elevator.Walkability: There are lots of restaurants in walking distance. Lots of them only open from Thur to Sun

After a failed Airbnb experience nearby, we stayed at the Lost Horizon Tower Cottage and were blown away. The cottage was interesting, upscale, immaculate, and a generous size for our family of four. The kids loved it so much, that we could barely get them out the door to go skiing at nearby Plattekill Mountain in the morning. This location is also amazing if you are skiing the Catskills! This is a unique experience that we will remember forever, and we hope to come back soon. The staff was beyond friendly and offered outstanding service. The 24/7 coffee, cookies, and breakfast in the morning were wonderful perks. We loved the Roxbury!

Fantastic, funky motel with an artistic flare that will put it on top of the best places you have ever stayed at; certainly it will be the most unique place you stay at. Organized and impeccably operated. If you own your own business and stay here, pay attention to the details the owners of the Roxbury practice; it will undoubtedly benefit your business. The rooms were very clean and modern. We stayed before Halloween and the motel was perfectly decorated. Rarely do I give 5 stars, but I would’ve liked to give The Roxbury Motel more than 5 stars.

Very awesome and clean rooms, A/C was great, good amenities, drinks in fridge are reasonably priced. Something to be mentioned is some rooms have a shared lawn with chairs and a gazebo which is coolWalls/ceiling were mostly soundproof.Walkability: Town is a 1 minute walk awayFood & drinks: Free "breakfast" was lacking, instead of an actual breakfast it's a poor bagel, yogurt, hard boiled egg and maybe a cereal cup - no hot meal option.

We stayed in the Partridge Family room this past weekend for a wedding. While I was a little worried about the themed rooms when we first booked, I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and had plenty of space. Megan at the front desk was very friendly and gave us some great recommendations for a hike. I also enjoyed the breakfast options that we were able to pre-order. Overall, the Motel was very nice and we had a great stay.

This place is really funky! We entered into a stairway that looked like a natural cave dripping with lava. The copper colored walls were embedded with pots and pans, also copper colored. At the top of the stairs, the hallway was decorated with copper glitter. One of the rooms had a black and white swirl covering the entire ceiling. Each bedroom had its own very funky theme.Generally, all the expected amenities were provided for and the service was thorough.Rooms: This place is really funky! Hands down, one of the best places that I have stayed! The room was super clean, very nice staff and the spa (hot tub, dry sauna and wet sauna) were amazing. Really appreciate the Covid protocols, and the breakfast was decent for the price. The only thing was the location, unfortunately thete was not many options for food, but that really is not on the motel and they're thoughtful enough to provide fridge and a microwave so you can take your own food. Overall, I had a great experience and cannot wait to go back!

Ok so we stayed in the Polka Dot room and it was fantastic, the room was clean and it looked like it was just built yesterday. It’s a great place to stay at, and we love the spa and pool area. Also clean and was really relaxing. But the walls are kind of see through so I could hear the people next to us. But through and through it was a wonderful and relaxing stay.

It's an experience the amount of detail that went into the cottages creates an ambiance of imagination. We stayed in the superhero 🏽‍♀️ cottage for my daughter’s birthday. We were all taken away by the excellent staff, that was so helpful and exhibited patience with the small ones. They made her chocolate-covered strawberries for her birthday. The time in the pool and hot tub was so refreshing, and we had a wonderful welcoming experience with other guests! The owner introduced himself as we checked in! The Staff had breakfast dropped off at our door, and we ended our stay with the Stratton falls and nature walk, and it was lovely!

OMG we so loved the Roxbury, it was such a fun place to stay. We stayed in the Mary Ann room. The owner was amazing. We stayed off season on a pit stop to another location in the Catskills so we just enjoyed the whole experience of the motel. We hope to go soon and check out another room. When we went there was zero cell service/GPS for our drive from Cooperstown, so write down directions just in case.

From start to finish every moment was wonderful. My husband and I stayed here for our minimoon/10 year anniversary. This place did not disappoint. The staff were friendly, the room was so fun (and clean). The grounds at both locations were beautiful and relaxing. Definitely gives more Bed and Breakfast vibes than a motel. We can not wait to return!

Growing up in Roxbury I had always heard about it but never from the perspective of someone that had stayed there. I know that the owners are respected by the locals; they’ve brought a ton of business to the contractors and builders here and have been a beacon to the community in terms of desperately needed employment.I finally had the opportunity to stay here twice over the past year or two with my bf who’s unfamiliar with the area. We stayed a night here and there when coming up to visit my family.Reservations were made by him but they seemed to be very straightforward and uncomplicated. Check-in was pleasant too. I greatly appreciated the overall cleanliness of our room both times we stayed (first was the enchanted forest close to the office, second was the Audrey Hepburn room) and I for the first time in my life didn’t get the ick worrying about how grimy and gross our room was- it was immaculate both times. Not even a smudge on the mirrors or windows. The beds were extremely comfy and weren’t creaky and cheap like hotel beds often are and omg the sheets were heavenly and nice and clean without any kind of weird residue. I really enjoyed the all-natural personal hygiene products that were provided! They were refreshing and didn’t dry our skin or hair out and it was a bonus to have a full size hand soap in our room (no worrying about running low- even though we did only spend 1 night lol). The grounds and buildings are beautifully maintained, they have so many pretty flower gardens and the parking lot/driveway is well-maintained too not full of potholes etc.The hotel is pretty centrally located in town just off the Main St and there’s a little bridge on the street immediately leading up to the hotel. Sidewalks throughout town and it’s pretty walkable, Roxbury is mostly dead so you don’t have to worry about making a dash for it across a busy street. Less than a 5 minute stroll brings you first to the old mill restaurant (formerly known as the public) but if you continue towards town you’ll pass the post office to your left, veterans’ memorial at the intersection to your right. Straight ahead is the cafe/gallery space (yellow) and to the left of that is the liquor store and now a restaurant and ““provisions”” shop then a weed store and some insurance agency (not Cuttitas). On the street side near the post office there’s the empty gallery and then Chappies, the other ““provisions”” store then the volunteer fire department and the gas station and good ole RCS. Across from the school is a food pantry and then further up the street the library, Methodist Church and then the Gould Church.Oh and at check-out they offered some tasty fresh chocolate chip cookies! Plus the office is really cool, it’s like the inside of a much cooler Keebler elf tree lol :)Rooms: Immaculately clean, high quality bedding & personal care productsNearby activities: Some history placards and overpriced restaurants and tourist trap shopsSafety: Roxbury is the safest town you’ll ever be inWalkability: Extremely walkableNoteworthy details: Attention to detail and the fact that they’re actually part of the community and didn’t just come here and gentrify things like all the other “local” shops

We stayed in The Digs cottage end of August. My kids loved it…such a cool place to explore. The pool area was so relaxing. Everything was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly. We booked hot tub time slots at both locations…both excellent. We can’t wait to go back and visit other cottages. Truly a fabulous, relaxing night away.
