Photo’s of mostly eaten food…. because this was a truly fantastic mean. I work and eat in Manhattan 6 days a week. This was a very…. very impressive meal. Some of the freshest ingredients I’ve tasted in recent time. Everything was cooked & prepared brilliantly. Take my word. This is worth a far drive. I really hope to make it back one day soon. Thank you to the chef & staff!!

I've been coming here for a couple of years. Twice during the Winter. Never had a bad meal. Never got a meal that even just OK. Every meal I've had was delicious.1st night I had a burger and homemade vegetable soup. Delicious!!Second days dinner was onion soup and artichoke dip wit pit chips. Also DELICIOUS!!!Only draw back is that if you like to sit at the bar there are only two seats.Sorry about some of the pictures but they have light bulbs that are camera shy.I can't forget the staff. Nobody would come if they had a bad staff. Waitresses all VERY nice and know their job. All very social and know how to treat customers. I had a question about something I was about to order. The chef came out and explained it. I ever spoke at a bus boy for about 10 minutesVegetarian options: They have a Veggi burger. I'm not a vegetarian so I really don't know too much about vegetarian meals but if the veggie burger qualifies then there is a vegetarian optionParking: Street parking but plenty of itKid-friendliness: I'm here now and there's a few parents with their kids here.Wheelchair accessibility: Street level entrance. Plenty of space to manover. Spacious toilet.

I’ve read some reviews where people have said they waited a long time for service. One thing to keep in mind is this is a small town restaurant. They don’t have ten people waiting tables. So, you do have to be patient. Also, (as we learned) it is handy to have reservations. We didn’t the first night and did have to wait a little longer, but were given water right away and it was obvious our server (who was waiting tables by herself) was doing all she could to tend to tables. Food was excellent and the gluten free pizza was by far the BEST I’ve ever had. We loved everything so much we went back the second night (and made reservations.) Fabulous restaurant and it’s clear they take pride in the food they serve.

Time to get seated took 5 minutes, time to get water + menus were about 30 minutes, and food took about an hour to get to us after we got seated. The pizza was inconsistent. One pie tasted like papa John’s, the other tasted and looked terrible. The soda was flat and tasted like roses. The fries looked like they had collected everyone’s leftover fries from previous orders, and reheated them and served it. The cuts of the fries were inconsistent. The wings were not only dry and crusty as though they were made earlier in the day and microwaved, but they forgot to put the sauce on it before serving it.1/5.

I used to eat at Chappies every few weeks and always a great place. Went there for Halloween and staff was all dressed in costumes. Food is always good, burgers, steak, food specials and desserts.Staff was always on top of the things and service was good, outdoor seating as well with heat lamps. Decent local craft beer selection and small bar but it's a small place in general.Highly recommend if you are in the area.

a lovely place with accomodating staff, delicious pizza. we had five guests share 2 pizzas and a couple appetizers. also, when we went, there was a pride flag out front which was very welcoming.Vegetarian options: Soups, pizzas, veggie burger, etc.Kid-friendliness: has a reasonably priced kids menu, although the restraunt is quite small and dimly lit so might not be the best for energetic young toddlers

I have no clue how this place has 4+ stars. We ordered 2 cheese pizzas, 12 Buffalo wings, truffle fries and beers, after waiting 30 mins to order. A frozen chuck-e-cheese pizza is probably better than whatever it is that we just got (especially for this price). Also, we are pretty sure they did not have the same type of cheese on the pizzas. The wings had no sauce, honestly, the best part of my meal was the beer. I don’t post much, but this was such a disappointment, that I had to.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chappies with a group of 15 friends, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Located conveniently near a mountain where we enjoyed snow tubing, this restaurant was the perfect post-adventure retreat. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what turned out to be a culinary delight. Our diverse group sampled a variety of dishes, and each one surpassed our expectations. The French toast was a delightful start to our meal, with its perfect balance of sweetness and fluffiness. The Texas patty melt and grilled cheese sandwiches were absolute crowd-pleasers, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. One of the unexpected gems was the chai chili wrap, which added a delightful twist to our taste buds with its unique combination of flavors. Even the soup, a seemingly simple dish, impressed us with its depth of flavor and comforting warmth. And let's not forget the chicken fingers, a classic favorite that did not disappoint. To complement our meal, we indulged in an array of drinks, all of which were expertly crafted and served with care. Whether it was a refreshing cocktail or a steaming cup of coffee, each sip enhanced our dining experience. The service was impeccable, with the staff accommodating our large group effortlessly and ensuring that every need was met. Despite the size of our party, the food arrived promptly and was served with a smile.Overall, dining at Chappies was a highlight of our snow tubing adventure. The combination of delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and top-notch service made for a truly memorable experience. Whether you're visiting the area for outdoor activities or simply seeking a fantastic dining experience, I highly recommend making a reservation at Chappies. You won't be disappointed!

Arrived at 7:05pm, got a table for 2. Waited about 10 minutes for a server to approach us, ordered 1 order of fries and 2 alcoholic beveragesAt 7:45, we still hadn’t received our drink - so I flagged someone down and asked if there were any updates on the drinks. They asked what we ordered, and said to hold on.8:00, 2 drinks were brought to the table - not our drinks, not even close. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a whiskey ice tea. We received a large ice tea and a shot of whiskey.Told them these were so wrong, they brought out our correct drinks at 8:05.We cancelled the fries, drank our drinks and left.I get it was alittle busy today, but please don’t seat people you are going to ignore. Tables seated after us were served way ahead of us.

Really great food, service and atmosphere. The burger had a great toast on the bun for terrific crunch. I added an egg and that was amazing. The beef is delicious.Hubby is vegan so he had a veggie pizza without cheese. They added black beans for his protein.Super sweet server who was alone but got it all done with a smile. We will definitely go back.

If you ever find yourself traveling to or through Roxbury, NY either for a skiing trip or what not. This cool, hip spot with upstate vibes called Chappies is a must stop. It's a gem of a place. Fantastic service and the food.... I was fortunate enough to have breakfast lunch and dinner at Chappies. I posted some pictures and everything on the menu is outstanding. Must haves are the mussels and I would suggest ordering a side of the hand cut french fries. If your a bloody mary fan, like me, this is the place. And I had what I consider one the best mimosa's I've ever had. Also, the burger is off the charts as well as the BLT. With that said, I cant wait to go back! Yum!

Popped in for a quick breakfast after a stay at the Roxbury Stratton Falls. I had the Monte Cristo and it blew away my expectations, not to mention the home fries which were cooked to be perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the inside. I also had the Bloody Mary which was basically a meal in itself (and extra peppery/spicy just how I like it). Great meal and great service, I'll definitely be make a return visit on my next trip to Roxbury.

Fantastic breakfast. Loved the skillet I got. Highly recommend asking for one of their muffins grilled. Also did a take out dinner as well that was also very good. Had salmon that was excellent as well. Only open thurs-sun though.

Had brunch here on Saturday. I realize it sounds crazy to go on about eggs, bacon and hash browns, but it was delicious! Really the tastiest food I’ve eaten in quite awhile, and I dine out quite a bit. They do something amazing with the hash browns, light and delicious! You receive individual French press coffee pots with excellent coffee. The waitperson was charming, and the music was great, at nice volume for dining and convo. If you find yourself in the Roxbury area definitely give a try.

Six of us came to the door and waited to ask if we could sit outside. And we waited. There was a table with 2 ladies outside, no one sitting inside. And we continued to wait for SEVERAL minutes, while 3 wait staff stood talking amongst themselves. One had her back to us, but the other 2 could clearly see us. Nearing 5 minutes, with no sign of assistance, we walked in a little further and asked if we could sit outside and they said sure. Outside no one came with menus and after a while it started raining, so we went back inside, and the same staff were standing in the same place talking, so we just seated ourselves. Five minutes later, we had to ask for menus. We got them, along with a side of attitude! After we decided what we wanted, we had to ask them to take our orders (and the same 3 staff were still standing talking!!).The food came, and I have to say it was absolutely delicious, if a little steep on price! We did enjoy our meal. A lot!!When we finished we asked for boxes for leftovers. Then we waited and waited and waited for a check. Our waitress was deep in conversation with one customer near the bar, and despite the fact four of us got up and walked out, she still kept going on with her conversation. Eventually, we asked for the check. She acknowledged our request, but continued talking. When she came over with the check, she then asked--FOR THE FIRST TIME--if we needed anything else. That was the first time she had asked during the whole time we were there. From the time we got our food, till we asked for the check NO ONE checked to see if we needed anything!! NO ONE!!! The absolute worst part of all this extremely inefficient, attitude filled service, is that gratuity is included and not our decision! She definitely didn't deserve the gratuity she received. The food was so good that it makes me sad to say we won't ever be back!!!

One of the few nice restaurants in Roxbury with good food. Everything we ordered from the menu tasted scrumptious. The French onion soup, the tiger pizza (highly recommend it), veggie burger, salmon, everything was delicious. It’s a small but fun restaurant to hangout for drinks and food. They were short staffed the day we visited, had only one server for the entire restaurant, so food took longer to come. But, our server was excellent. Kid friendly, casual, fun place with good service.

Three strikes..... We gave this place three chances and each was progressively worse than the next. Inattentive aloof service, ultra-mediocre to downright terrible food, if there were more options in town there is no way they'd still be open. Worth driving to Margaretville, possibly even Woodstock or Kingston to avoid eating here. I hate giving negative reviews but in this case it's completely warranted. First time had a burger (hard to get wrong) but they did, second time soggy, fishy "fish n chips" and the third time after waiting an hour for weak drinks we cut out losses and left. Please try harder guys... Roxbury desperately needs a good restaurant. This ain't it.

This place must be paying people to leave good reviews to thin out the bad reviews. There is absolutely NO way anyone could leave more than one star. Every person that was around us was having a horrific experience. I was told by a Roxbury resident that this place survives off of one time visits. The food is trash quality, the servers are so rude I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life! I was without exaggeration yelled at when I entered the establishment. The wait staff legitimately hate you for being there. Everyone there hates their life, they hate you for being there, and the food is disgusting and overpriced. It’s an overall negative experience that can change the course of your whole day. It is simply unbelievable to me that anyone comes here and says “That was a good time! Let me leave a review!” Absolutely a lie. I’d rather eat at a gas station.
