Next to a renowned fishing spot, this unfussy motel offers an included breakfast & free WiFi. In a serene residential locale, this humble motel is beside Junction Pool; where the Wilowemoc river pours into Beaverkill river, creating famed fishing, particularly for trout. Roscoe’s hamlet is a 5-minute walk, offering subdued diners and a railway museum, as well as an abandoned medieval castle with Gothic details, Dundas. Twin Village golf course is an 8-minute walk, while Catskill fly-fishing museum is an 8-minute drive. Unpretentious wood-panelled rooms have free WiFi, TVs with premium cable channels, fridges and microwaves, as well as private bathrooms. A continental breakfast is included.

Honestly the most perfect spot on the river! Great for families and for fishing and for fun. Best kept secret in the Catskills in my opinion. The rooms are perfect for coming and going, hanging out in Roscoe, exploring the Catskills or lounging on the river! Rachael is the best host of all time and really knowledgeable about the area & local hidden gems! Our family favorite spot in the Catskills!

This place is wonderful! I now live in the area full time, but always send friends and family here when they come to visit. Whether you are coming to experience the breweries and restaurants in Roscoe or the excellent fishing at Junction Pool, the location cannot be beat. The rooms are super clean and adorable. There's often a fire going at night in the fire pits, and it is a great place to take in the beauty of the area. The owners are wonderful, and an asset to the community. Highly recommend!

We love the Roscoe Motel so much and have been coming here for years. The motel staff make you immediately feel at home, the rooms are really cute with everything you need and have the most gorgeous river running directly beneath them (amazing sounds to wake up to). Can't fault this place and will forever be our family's favorite quick, easy upstate getaway.

My room had a microwave, tv, great AC, and a view to a stream right behind the property. We arrived and got in the stream and shopped in a flea market they were hosting. Great place to escape the city for friendly and quaint living if only for a day or 2.We fished in junction pool. Walking distance and beautiful.

Roscoe Motel is the hidden gem of Roscoe, aka Trout Town USA in the western Catskills. There's nothing like falling asleep to the sounds of the famous Beaverkill River running, or waking up to the fresh Catskill air and a greeting from the official Motel dog, Chuck.Perfect for a quick getaway from the city, and easy access to the surrounding area – I recommend checking out the great shops and storefronts nearby in Livingston Manor: the Walk In (great lunch and breakfast), Corners (impeccably curated design shop), Catskill Art Center, Long weekend (vintage furniture), and Sunshine Colony (natural wine bar).Dog and kid friendly too!

If you’re looking for fancy don’t come here. However the owner was really nice and accommodating. The rooms were outdated, but clean and the location is great. There is a creek right in the back that is a very popular fishing spot. The town is 3 blocks long, but it’s cute. There’s a few food options and a couple of shops. Nothing spectacular, but it’s something. Overall if you’re looking for an affordable stopover going up north or into the mountains I would recommend.

I’ve stayed at the Roscoe motel twice, and loved it both times! The staff is so accommodating and set me up with a fly fishing lesson, recommendations for hikes and other activities in the area, and there was even a bonfire one night where I got a chance to meet the other guests. It was the perfect getaway from the city, and I’m excited to be back hopefully soon.

Hesitant to post this on the internet because I want to keep this place all to myself! Just magical! Nothing fancy but so much character… we (my dog and I, of course) felt so welcome and at peace in this place and loved falling asleep to the sound of the water in the back. Oh. And SPOTLESSLY clean. Had to leave early due to an emergency but they were oh so accommodating, kind, and understanding. It’s hard to find places like this anymore, this is truly a hidden gem and I can’t wait to come back!

After a 3-year hiatus due to the pandemic, I finally returned to Roscoe Motel and fishing in the Catskills. The place now has new owners. The place was getting run down the last time I was there but it's gotten a lot worse. The last day I was there it rained and I heard dripping somewhere. When I opened the outside door, I noticed that the roof outside my room was leaking pretty bad. I also noticed a lot of rotted wood on the outside of the motel. When I put my key in the drop box, I looked into the office and noticed that the rain had leaked through and ruined some of the ceiling tiles. The room I had did not have any curtains but instead a sheet with hooks. The bathroom didn't even have a curtain! I probably should have put up newspaper. A piece of molding around the window was sticking out so I pushed it back in just to be nice. There used to be room service at the motel. Toward the end of the first day, our room had not yet been cleaned. When I asked about room service I was told they just exchange linens. No big deal, just tell guests upon check-in. The ice machine is not there anymore. Someone at the desk said it was removed due to the health department. That's kind of weird because I've stayed many other places and they all had ice machines. The ice machine was on its way out the last time I was there. On their website, the motel is listed as AAA. However, when we checked in we were told that they are not AAA; need to update the website to avoid confusion. I really wanted to like this place a lot more because I went on many annual fishing trips there with my dad. I hope to return some day but the motel needs a lot of updating.

Though the room was outdated it was charming and very clean! The motel is quiet and is a great spot for trout fishing as the river is in their backyard. Highly recommend this motel, but be sure not to let the big headed yellow lab in the office out the door because he likes to play the game catch me if you can! We will definitely be back!

The mattress was aweful. It had to be the cheapest mattress they could buy. Bring a memory foam topper and your own pillows too. I wouldn't call the pieces of material covering the windows curtains either. The rooms haven't been updated in many years. The carpet was wet? Not sure why? Bring your own coffee too. Yes it was cheap and it was clean, but a little comfort goes a long way.

Basic lodging. I'm surprised to see people rave that the place is "clean". Do you expect less for $100 a night? Yes, some much needed improvements have been made. Very good. I suggest buying some new towels to replace the ones bordering on threadbare. And please buy some bulbs for the ceiling lights. Rooms are dimly lit. Otherwise, OK.

The owner Rachel is a sheer delight! She is so accommodating and kind and fun. If you have a dog, by all means bring your pup along with you. The rooms are a throwback to the '50s for sure. Very Americana and retro. They are clean and the view of the river right out back is spectacular.

This place is very charming. Wether you’re looking for a retreat to simpler times surrounded by stunningly beautiful nature or a fly fishing experience in one of the country’s best fishing locations, the Roscoe Motel disappoint. The owners are friendly, accommodating, and inclusive. It’s a place which I look forward to returning.

The motel quoted us a great rate for an extended stay. When we checked in I paid cash and they tried to upcharge me immediately. The rooms are more than rustic, with a dorm refrigerator that melted our ice cream after just a few hours. The microwave button to open the door was broken and you had to slam the door to close it. There was glue on the table from some previous fly fisherman who was clearly trying to fix or tie flies. Their direct TV was less than basic and only had three working channels that weren't infomercial or in Spanish. Uncovered outlet holes in the walls and a dangling mass of wires under the TV with a power strip dangling to power the fridge and microwave looked less than safe. They had their sceptic system tore open for most of our stay, which was a holiday season and trout release week, and one day the smell was so rank that everyone was complaining.A day before we left I was asked to put a credit card on my account because they claimed we hadn't paid and quoted us another upcharged rate higher than the first upcharge. They didn't approach us again to try to charge us double after I told them I had paid cash which was not marked in their computer. One of their employees, some blonde guy, came out back where I was meditating on the creek and stripped to his underwear in front of me to take a swim. The motel is run by pretentious bohos who seemed to think it was appropriate to call and try to shame me after we left a sizeable tip for housekeeping, considering that they told my husband that they would only clean once during our stay. Luckily my husband got pictures of the room before we left because he was concerned about the employees being irresponsible with the cash we paid for the room, since they tried to bill us a second time and the fact that the kids managing the place had a better time partying than any of the guests. If you stay there, keep your receipts and watch out for extra charges on your credit card after you leave.Their office was regularly closed and regular guests told us it wasn't the same as it used to be. I can understand why they were the only ones who had available rooms when everyone else was booked full.
