Me & my buddy came down to the catskills to do some hardcore trout fishing & our air bnb house was awful & we needed out of it asap. We got a site here at Butternut Grove & the tiny cabin we stayed in had heat, a microwave, a tv, & pretty much all amenities we needed, the beds were very clean & super comfortable! The staff were absolutely amazing, & made sure we were accomodated well during our stay. I want to express my gratitude & blessings for this campsite giving us a beyond excellent experience, & it was very welcoming & comfortable all around. Absolutely loved it. Also, they have the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen in a public setting. They really care about their campsite & their guests. Thank you all again for your compassion & making sure our stay was excellent. If I could give 6 stars i would. Kudos to everyone!

Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Campground was clean and had great access to some awesome fishing on the Beaverkill. Being a tent camper we were very impressed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Only there for three days but met so many friendly people. Felt very welcome and safe the entire time we were there. Bridget went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and always with a smile. Great people! We will definitely be planning another trip back to Butternut! Thanks for a great time!

My reservation was for a cabin directly on the water but when I got there they had moved the cabin away from the water and closer to the road. It also put us much farther from the bathhouse. No notification whatsoever. The bathrooms were never cleaned the whole weekend, no toilet paper in any of the stalls by Sunday morning, it was disgusting. There were only 2 hooks in the showers leaving no place to put your stuff and the showers were gross. The owners little girl was constantly playing in the camp roads unsupervised. Their dog visited and begged the whole breakfast. When we left no one was in the store to check out so we left. Definitely won't be going back to this place. Also, of the camp chairs we were given one was cracked and not usable.Had you given me an update prior to our arrival I probably would have chosen another location as I wanted to be directly on the water, I believe this is why you never replied to any of my emails I sent before we came. Yes, the shirt was a nice gesture but after what you pulled I would never want to wear a shirt with your logo thus advertising a business I do not support. Yes, your bathrooms WERE decent, at first, but at the end of the weekend they were disgusting and were not supplied properly. The showers had a few design flaws but that was minimal. It's just too bad there wasn't some way to have notified me of the change in lodging before we drove the 6 hours...... oh wait, you could have called, texted and or emailed me. I appreciate the offer for a discount for a future stay but I really have no desire to come back, thank you anyways. I wish you and your family all the best.

My girlfriend and I were bringing back a used RV from upstate NY to CT. Camped overnight at Butternut. What a great decision it was! Great camp ground, friendliest people, such a good vibe. The owners are amazing!!! For us first timers with other first timer at the ground, Paul, Bridget treated us like family, along with everyone else. Will thanks for cooking everything! We met a bunch of great RVers/campers. After driving a crazy used Toyota Camroad RV and white knuckling it in the mountains, I was sooo appreciative of everyone at Butternut campground. We will be back with our other RV friends!

I was the first guest in the super cute cabin that the new owners have erected next to the river. Its small but very tastefully decorated. It would make a great place for those who want to camp but want to sleep in a bed (let your friends deal with the sleeping bags and lumpy bed rolls outside). The campground is located on the Beaverkill on a magnificent stretch of the river. Fly fishers be very excited. The site is picturesque, with clean facilities. The new owners, Bridget and Paul, are two of the friendliest, most attentive hosts you could imagine.I loved the place so much, I am bringing an RV to the site for the whole of next year!

A beautiful place, the river was great to tie off our tubes and relax for the day, The owners Bridget & Paul were so welcoming, our kids loved playing with their kids and feeding Gaston! After a long day it’s great to sleep listening to the River. Want to get away from it all this is a place to visit!! We’ll be back!!

Campsite would be tough for big 5th wheels but did see one successfully make it in and spend a few nights. The big winner here is the owner Paul. He was amazing throughout our entire stay, getting to know us and hang out with us. He even had a huge cookout on Saturday night and fed us around the campsite. Had a great stay there last week! Thanks again Paul!

I dont know how to express this place without doing injustice to the review. If old school values and the Mom and Pop pride and attention mean anything to you, then this is it!!!Felt like we were part of thier family the moment we pulled in till the minute we left.We truly feel like we have great friends that we have known for years, that own a very assume campground on the Beaverkill river after one week.Cant say enough!!!!!

Had an amazing time camping out here in Roscoe last month! When we arrived we were greeted by Paul who checked us in and provided us with some fishing tips for the River nearby. We camped out in tents and had a blast at this site. Unfortunately, our second day came to an abrupt end as we had forgotten to rain fly out tents and got our tents caught in the rain while out in town. Paul was super attentive and tried to help out as much as possible, he even offered us to use his own equipment to stay the night! He went above and beyond, checking in on us while we were packing up. Highly recommend staying at this campsite! Thank you Paul!

This place is amazing and the new owners are wonderful!! The campground is right on the Beaverkill River and is absolutely stunning. Bridget and Paul have made major improvements in the short time they have owned the campground. They are friendly and really care about their visitors. They go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your stay, listen to recommendations and genuinely want you to relax and enjoy! We can't wait to go back!! Good luck Bridget and Paul, see you soon!!!

I came here in June for the first time and never went to any other campsite again. I’ve been treated like family and evenings by the bonfire are just exceptional. Anything you need to unite with the nature and great people is at Butternut Grove!

My buddy and I arrived in snowy conditions, Paul(one of the owners) plowed a path for my car and brought us a bunch of firewood for a great price. Incredibly friendly and accommodating place, right on the bank of the beaver kill. We’ll be back!

Lauren and Jon are great hosts. There is excellent fishing right from the campground. Lots of seasonal campers, who all know each other, and are very nice and welcoming. With just a wave and "hello" and you'll make some new friends. Camp is quiet at night, and the facilities are well kept. They sell flys and firewood in the office, and will bring firewood right to your spot for you.

Incredibly friendly and helpful hosts. Top tip: if you have a tent call ahead for plot 65!Great little store on site for everything you've probably forgotten to bring.Restrooms: The best restroom and showers I've ever seen at a campground. The owners clearly care.

Should be 2 stars but it's really nice being right on the rivers edge. Had a specific check in time yet still had to wait almost 2 hours before getting " placed " in my small, dirt, uneven site by the owner who didn't seem to quite get how to maneuver a tractor. Got home the next day to find an email with my "final invoice" for my $40 one night stay. It included previously undisclosed extra charges for electric$5.50, self serve dump station, $15.00 ! and firewood(understandable except $8 for a bundle of 4 pieces). The grounds were scruffy with evidence of poor upkeep. Bath house was ok and my dog had fun. Also, there was zero observation of Covid protocol by the owner, staff & other campers.

The lady who works at the front desk is a very rude lady! We actually booked for two nights, but ended up just staying for a night. Because the place was very boring and very basic. None of the sites had a trash can !Doesn’t even have a playground for the kids! Before we left, we made sure we left with no trash on the floor and picked up after ourselves. When we got back home , I see I was charged an extra $10. I called back and the rude lady said the site was left with trash, that’s why they charged. And she hung up on me. And is not answering my calls anymore.I Would not recommend this place to anyone!!! Never coming back here again. There are much better campgrounds out there.
