This place is not worth the drive. The signage was not that great until you were on top of this place. It is so far off the beaten path. But when you get here there is really nothing here. The grounds are nice, but it is not like a crazy memorable over the top winery that would draw you back. Or separate it from the rest of the wineries. The staff was just okay. Not a lot of describing the wine in the flight by the server. No history, no back story, no frill. Basically, just look at the list, pay for it, and here is what you ordered. It sort of felt arrogant. Like our wine is so good we don't need to say much about it.My guess is that they are just starting out and trying to get their feet wet.

Winter and Summer winery for all seasons. Friendly owners and staff. Great wine especially the Glogg. Great warm or chilled. Nice pond and view of the grapes.

Friendly staff, decent wine tasting experience, and some fun merch. After a week in the finger lakes I’ve realized its wine isn’t good although this place has a unique bourbon wine.

Nice facility. We sampled outside at a table and it was quite pleasant. However, the wines disappointed. The new tasting options are to choose from several predefined flights. None of the wines impressed any of the 4 in our party. The Optimus in particular was so funky I had to aske for a taste from a new bottle. But that didn't make an improvement. It had a taste I never experienced before.

It's nice for a change to be able to taste wines that aren't full of complexity. I chose the varieties that would give me more of the Concord grape flavor and am happy to say they had many. Their back deck overlooking their pond is so enjoyable. Also our visit by a very talkative pony was quite t he treat. Jamie took exceptional care and had the patience of a Saint. We've put this wine out at Halloween for the parents that accompany the children and it's been a hit. So we returned to restock for this year. Not a over the top fussy or fancy winery, but definitely friendly staff and great 🍷.

One of the better tastings we had this day!! Every time we made a pick of a wine we wanted the sample the man running it said than you should also try this and this and didn't count them towards our picks!! They have some tasty vintages and will definitely be back for more!!

Love the place. A great selection of different wines with little snacks to clean your pallet in between the different wines. The service is very good with lots of knowledge of the wines. You can sit inside or outside with awesome views of the lake. I always want to buy all the wines they have. It's always a stop we must do whatever we are in the area.

VERY pleased. We sent a gift basket to our friends who love wine from the Finger Lakes. Because of Covid-19 we did not see them this year. Swedish Hill Winery was the only winery in the Finger lakes region who offered gift baskets. They were courteous and quick. The best part was how happy it made our friends. They absolutely loved it!! Thank you so much.

There are so many great wines at Swedish Hill that it is difficult to choose just one! The customer service here is always great.

Great wine! They just started making hard cider and we really enjoyed all 4 of the flavors (traditional apple, Moscow mule, rose, and blackberry). Make sure to visit Sven (mini horse) and Doobie (donkey) out back!

I used to love this place and their wines because I could choose which wines I wanted to taste. Went there again today and my dry white selection wasn't so good. For $12 -$14 a tasting I should be able to pick my own selection.

We were the last tasting so seemed a bit rushed but understandable. They have a wide variety of wine, especially enjoy the fruit wines. Nice place to go and enjoy some wine but be sure to arrive well before closing time.

We’ve been to this winery several times over the years and were exited to visit again after 3 years of not traveling to the Finger Lakes region. The reason for the 2 star review is because we still enjoyed the wine but not the service. We did our tasting, and were browsing and gathering our purchase. I had a question about one of the wines that we hadn’t tasted when Jean started to ring out the one bottle that I picked. She then asked my husband about the tshirt he was holding. I explained that we weren’t quite ready to check out and that we were still browsing. She seemed in such a rush to get the sale and have us move on that I didn’t get to ask my questions. I returned the one bottle to the shelf and put the tshirt back and we left. Sorry Jean, You lost the sale. There are plenty of other wineries in the area.

Enjoyed a delightful tasting of their full-bodied red wines. Also sampled several of their special offerings: glogg, late harvest vignoles, and port. All were commendable. Between the two of us, my sister and I purchased a case of wine getting a 15% discount to boot. Their windowed, multi-angled tasting room is an architectural delight. Will visit again soon. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Very neat place! Wines are very good. Damn large bullfrog in the rear holding pond! Croaking everywhere, just the frogs not old people. Lol! Definitely a worthwhile stop on the trail. I bought a lot of wines that day. Cayuga and Gewürztraminer are my favorites!

Although the wine was decent the service was awful. the lady working was very rude. i have read through reviews and it seems as if many others have said the staff and costumer service was awful. A lot of those reviews were from over a year ago so the obviously has not tried to fix the problem. they claimed to have no seating outdoors when there was only one group of people. they also would not allow us to take the wine glasses outside because of the “wind”. overall do not recommend there is so many other nicer winery’s to visit. The only remotely enjoyable thing at this winery was Sven and Doobie. If i could rate 0 stars i 100% would.

Beautiful day in wine country. Great to see the donkeys as well as share time with cousins. Loved the Bourbon Barrel Aged however unless owner changes attitude will not return to Swedish Hill. Instead of enjoying and appreciating patrons she was short tempered and rude. If I did not already purchase 3 BOTTLES of wine would have walked away. Still figuring why you can purchase a glass of wine and receive a signature glass however purchase bottles of wine and have to purchase separately a signature glass 🤔

Been going here for 20 years but recently the quality of the wine has gone down quite a bit. Also, the tastings are $12 for 5 wines to taste which I feel is too expensive and you can only pick a group of wines called a flight which are wines of similar characteristics. This used to be my favorite winery - not any more.

Really cute winery with many diverse flights of wine to try. If wine is not your thing then they make their own delicious hard ciders that have lots of different flavors.

We used to go to their tasting room in Lake placid every year. This year we drove to Lake placid to find out that they closed their tasting room. We then drove to their main winery in Romulus, we spoke to a lady that we believe owned or ran the place and she was beyond rude. We tried to tell her that we used to visit the lake placid tasting room every year and she pretty much blew us off. We then tried to make small talk, we were the only people inside at the time and she wouldn't even look at us to talk. Needless to say even though we like alot of their wine we will NOT visit or buy anything from them again!

Just left and got out as quickly as possible. The staff couldn’t explain any of the wine, as we attempted to choose from a preselection list. This was the best part because the wine was memorable in the wrong ways. Avoid Optimus with all your being unless you like asparagus pee.

Wines are delicious but service was rude and unwelcoming. Holiday Shopping Spree 2017 : we understand that they are busy and that they have a lot of patrons coming in, but the attitude with which we were received was almost one of disdain. They were slow to help us, and that was understandable because she had to get a refill on soup, and once we were helped the woman at least back of the bar was very pleasant. But we did wait about 20 minutes just standing by the bar while she went off and got more soup and also conversed with other customers that she knew more regularly or other workers at the winery. Then when we checked out the woman at the register was fairly rude we tried to hand her exact change minus $0.02 and she couldn't do the math and says that I had screwed her up by handing her a nickel when the cost was $24.03. I understand that you are busy, but there's no need to be short with your customers, and blame them for screwing you up because you can't do math. Overall the wines were very tasty, we loved the jackass red and jackass white, but the service was slow and not welcoming.

Was surprised they turned down a party of 4 looking for a wine tasting 30 minutes before close. There were no other customers, we easily would have finished before close. Woman was rude, and bad at business.

Hello, This winery is one of the top wineries as far as I am concerned. I bought a Swenska Red from here. This is one of my favourite red wine of all time. The tasting was wonderful. They have a pet donkey called Doobie, and have named several wines after him. All the wonderful wines are in the 10 dollar range which is wonderful.

I like the winery and the Dear Wife loves their wines. They have several very nice varieties. There is one sparkling wine we both enjoy very much for special occasions.

I am sitting in the parking lot of this winery waiting to leave and I could not write this review fast enough. I went on a wine tour at this winery today and it was horrible. The wine was fine but the man who served during the tasting, Dave, was the worst!! He would not acknowledge any of my questions, purposely walked away when I attempted to seek help with getting a specific tasting and only acknowledged my friend whom I was standing next to. He turned his back on me when I said, "Excuse me, sir..."; he rolled his eyes and began to speak to anyone but me. He avoided eye contact and skipped over me whenever possible. Now the icing on the cake is when the woman cashing me out asked how my tasting was, I told her, "It was terrible. Dave is a disgusting human being, extremely rude and I hope he doesn't treat other customers the way he treated me today. Her response, "Oh, ok".Really? No customer service at all!! I made it clear that I was treated beyond unkind and it was ignored. The same way Dave treated me seemed to be the norm. I would not recommend this winery to anyone, ever.
