Beautiful grounds and deck for tasting. They don't give much info on the wine and not my favorite of ones over visited in the area. But a really beautiful place.

Such a great view of the water from their deck! Preselected tasting options are a good idea but I wish I could’ve made my own. Bartender was very busy for a Thursday but still managed to be personable and friendly!

I visited in late October 2017 for the Chestnut Festival. I expected the Chestnut Festival to be much larger and festive, but it wasn't. They had 2 long tables - one to sell wine and chestnuts, and the other was chestnut made dishes - a pumpkin chestnut cake/bread, and chestnut artichoke dip and a chestnut soup. All were pretty good, but because chestnuts have a very light mild flavor, I couldn't taste the chestnuts in any of the 3 dishes. They also had roasted chestnuts, which they microwaved and then roasted over a flying pan on a grill. The chestnuts weren't fully roasted, and they tasted raw. The lady roasting the chestnuts had never had chestnuts and didn't know what it was supposed to taste like. I purchased a bag of chestnut, and boiled it at home - out of laziness, and and they were very good.Back to the winery, the property is huge with tables and large grassy area around a pond to picnic or relax over a bottle/glass of wine. Because of the festival or maybe it was always busy, I'm not sure, inside the winery was packed. The wine tasting counter was packed, and a long line at the register to purchase wine and merchandise. While waiting in line, I noticed they have hard cider which was not advertised on their website, or I might have missed it. I picked up a few bottle of wines for gifts, and bottles of port wine, Two to Mango, and a case of graph juice. The Two to Mango is very sweet and it is delicious. The graph juice was good, but I like the grape juice at the Wagner Winery and Brewery much better. Wagner is about 17 miles South of Goose Watch.I didn't have all the bottles and case of graph juice with me when I was in line. It was impossible for me to collect them all by myself with 2 little dogs. The lady at the register couldn't help me until I collected all the bottles. Fortunately, another lady working there helped me collected what I wanted, and I had to remind the cashier that I am ready to check out after she helped several more people while I stood waiting. It could just be because they were so busy and she was focused on clearing up the line at the register.Overall, my experience was pretty good. I don't like crowds, and because it was so crowded, I left after I got my chestnuts and wine and graph juice. I am not sure if I will return to this winery. For those who enjoy a nice glass of wine and don't mind the crowds, it's a nice winery. The back fo the store has a long deck with seatings. It has a nice distance view of the Cayuga Lake. The winery is not on the lake, but it's close to the lake.

Nice winery with limited beer offerings for a steep price. Nice area with plenty of yellow jackets to share the outside tables with.

Words of wisdom to anyone in the industry - if you do decide to go here, make sure you have your industry card. I did not at the time and was ultimately denied the appropriate discount despite my efforts of providing concrete proof of my employment. This awkward and belittling interaction definitely impacted my experience. However, the wine was pretty good, and the tasting experience was satisfactory if you're okay with the flight setup. Staff left a lot to be desired in terms of accommodation and understanding.

The tastings were exceptional and had a wide variety. The views were amazing and staff was friendly! Bought a mixed case! Would definitely recommend!

Great place. A variety of seating sections. Traminette was delicious and we sat at a table on the patio on the shade overlooking the lake

Wine with a great view! I love how the brewery opened up so it makes it much more fun for brew lovers too.The wine selection is good. Not a big fan of their reds but the whites are good. Great place for a tasting.

The people are friendly and answer all questions about their wines. The wine flights are grouped very nicely, a wide variety. This winery should be visited. Enjoy!

Recently visited and disappointed to find out they are no longer making their grape juice. It was as delicious as their wines! Won't stop me from going though. Great wines, excellent service and an amazing view from the deck.

Lovely location.Don’t arrive near closing time. Wow. Lack of welcome and rush to close (with warnings of minutes remaining). And the wines are really not very good. (To be honest though, no wine will taste good when you are unhappy with how you are being treated.)Too late I looked at other reviews and find these are longstanding problems. This place could be so much better with happier people and better wines.Definitely no desire to return to the winery. I can only imagine they survive by catering to visitors. I doubt they can have any regulars. The service at the beer bar next door was OK but the beers were nothing special.

No personality. More like McDonald's at a busy drive thru. Pay here and we will bring it out. No descriptions. "Left to right". I was able to drink 1 of the 5 wines. Butter, nasty. Actually gave me heartburn.

First Google was incorrect on the enterence coming from the top of the hill. Be warned you may have to go past where it tells you. Once you arrive though, it's a beautiful joint. Recommend the sweet whites, very clean but I enjoyed everything we tried. Lots of room, deck is awesome.

Highly recommend the #3 pairing selection of five. Though pricier than other wine tastings, the quality of these wines stood out among its peers on our tour. The 2019 Riesling Gewurztraminer was outstanding as was the 2015 Chambourcin. Worth the trip!

Very nice place. Great Cayuga Lake views!!! I kinda like the fact they have a separate bathroom facility at the parking lot rather in the tasting facility. Saves on tasting interruption. Nice men's facility. Not sure about the women's nor the available Unisex/Handicap accessible facility. Driveway and parking area are black topped and there seems to be adequate room for large conveyance vehicles as well. Chances are very good for a return to this winery in the future for a tasting!!!

Gorgeous views and was really looking forward to a tasting on the deck. Unfortunately we arrived at about 4:40 and the staff was snotty and rude because they close at 5. We would not have had an issue doing a tasting in 20 minutes. We have never felt so unwelcome at a winery. Thankfully, there are plenty of others to try!!

Wines are good quality but I don't like the expensive $12 tasting for 5 wines. You don't even get to pick separate wines you have to pick a group of wines called a flight which doesn't allow for variety. Lake view from winery is beautiful.

The owner was very rude. We called weeks before hand to ask him if we can split a 9 party group to be coronavirus cautious and they said yes.Got there today and he was very rude having us wait 20 min after serving multiple people before us who were buying bottles. He said to us “in a rude way” that we have a large group that it’ll take a long time “to serve small glasses” before serving anyone so we will have to wait. Also said we can go to the brewery instead if we don’t want to wait. The other workers were very nice to us and think they should get a raise dealing with the rude owner. We would not recommend it this winery to anyone doing the Seneca/Cayuga wine trail.

We were very excited for this winery, because the setting looked great, beautiful buildings, beautiful view. Holiday shopping spree 2017: I understand that you are busy and by the time we got there at 3:30, you would see many people, but it really was very poor service. We tried to engage the girl pouring for us, and she was as if she was a robot, just giving us the one-liners for each wine and saying nothing else. She seemed bored with her job and annoyed that we were there, and that might have been okay if the wines have been good, but the wines were awful. It was our 7th Winery of the day, and you could taste the quality on the goose watch wines were not as high as some of the other wineries we have been too. We did not enjoy our stop here, and will not be returning. I recommend you go once to check it out, but if you are pressed for time there are better wineries out there.

No one was there when we come in but within minutes the whole tasting area filled up. The staff was friendly and provided good information about the wine. Ended up buying a half case this winery has some good ciders and sparkling wines.

I feel bad leaving a one star review, but they didn't earn a second star. The service here was poor. It took around 20 minutes to get the flight that we picked. We found out that the 4 hershey kisses they gave us when we paid were "tasting chocolates" that they charged us for without saying anything. With so many choices in the area, I would recommend skipping this one.

Unfortunately cannot enjoy bottles of wine at this winery, tastings only. We were buying multiple bottles to enjoy on their patio, which we were told was ok. We were asked to leave after some time, because we were not buying tastings. 1 star.

I have been a fan of Goosewatch wines for over 10 years. I absolutely love their Rose of Isabella and Renaissance Red. I can't get the equivalent anywhere else. Thank you.

Really fantastic views of the lake. Lots of outdoor seating, and a great place to split a bottle of wine. I've seen weddings and bridal parties here. It's a great winery to stop by if you're winetrailing.

Immediately upon entering the establishment the associate was rude and inhospitable. If the customer service is any indication of the quality of the wine, this place is to be avoided at all costs. I'll never know for sure, though, as I left before tasting a single drink.

On a wine tour where you're a designated driver, expect to be treated as second class citizen at this venue. Considering I paid for a ticket for the honor of being excluded (at this venue, anyway) from sampling the food samples that were to be part of the tour, I'd say is give it a pass on the future. Tip to the server (Beth)... At least act like you didn't see me.
