Staff/employees are courteous. That's the three-star rating. Shoes/brands are pricey. Too pricey. Especially since most are made in China or Vietnam. Bought a pair of cheap hiking boots($50.00). Not happy since the soles began falling apart after they got...wet. Yip. Took about four days. Was told to send'em back to manufacturer for any type of refund. Nope. Not paying to mail'em to China. And the very same shoes, I discovered, are sold under multiple names on the internet, as low as $27.00. And Walmart, has the same shoe under their brand of Ozaark Trail, for $34.00.Simply put: Buyer beware & Shop Around. Shoe Dept., in Rome, New York, is located in a very poor neighborhood.Yet, as with any business in a poor neighborhood, they charge the highest prices. Just absurd.

I don't think I have ever felt unhappy leaving this place ever until today. I found a shoe similar to what I was looking for. I waited in line to ask the associate if they had this same shoe in another size and color or at another store. Before I was even able to finish asking my question in full I was interrupted by the woman with straight dark almost shoulder length hair stating that what ever they had there was on the shelf and something about it being discontinued. I really dislike when associates interrupt you before you finish asking your question. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or not but today the customer service was not there at all. To be honest I don't think she cared either. I was disappointed in my treatment today and don't think I will be coming back here for a while. I can go to another store for mine and my families shoes.

They have some pretty good prices on shoes but the staff wasn't all that no one acknowledged me. Ask if I needed help with anything there was no one at the register for about 10 minutes when I tried to make a purchase I almost left but I really wanted some socks LOL they had a great deal 10 pair for $10 you don't usually find that anywhere multiple colors and sizes

I went in for a particular brand of sneaker for work(I'm on my feet up to 16 hours per shift ,per day).. The store did not have my size. The Sales Associate did offer to make a call to locate a pair. I declined. She then suggested a brand that I had never considered trying. Much to my surprise, the new brand was actually more comfortable right out of the box on a 16 hour shift! The prices were excellent (for both brands). The Sales Associate actually called me when the brand I went in for came in stock. That's going above and beyond!

Overall good. Love their selection. Store in good location. Guy at register could if been a little nicer but maybe it was the direct afternoon sun and glare making him unhappy. They really need a sun block on the window so the checkout scanner can be read!

Love it in fact I joke with the girls don't look you cant see me. If I keep buying shoes and boots there I'm going to be tossed out of my home. We laugh, they are friendly and the store is extremely clean. I be back ladies just wait and see. If ever the snow stops.

Customer service was awful . We came in and the kids behind the counter barely acknowledged us and kept giggling and whispering behind the counter. I asked for assistance as we were the only 3 people in store and the "forgot" about us . I'm all set with this location. I gave two stars because I found the shoes I wanted

Cant park on the streets in rome when it is going to snow, so me and my mom parked at the PD. We decided to walk to get the car in the morning instead of wait for a taxi (my feet got soaked because i forgot to bring my boots) So we go to shoe dept. and decide to get a new pair so that i can have dry feet. While there the 2 ladies (one had glasses) kept following us and watching us. If it wasn't for my feet being soaked by the snow and cold i would've spent my money elsewhere. I won't go here again.. have better customer service next time.
