I enjoyed this restaurant with my family very much. We went for lunch and there was a great selection of lunch specials in addition to their regular menu. We did not wait more than two minutes for a table. Our waitress was friendly and checked up on our table frequently. As soon as we sat down our waitress asked us what would we like to drink and brought us some soft bread with this delicious butter garlic. Our drinks came out fast as well as our food. My sister had the Mac and Cheese. She said she especially liked theirs because it tasted sweet and not like other restaurants who sometimes use sharper cheeses in this dish. The fries must have been good because the little one ate all of them. The steak sandwich was nice. The bread was soft and the steak filling was a good portion. I would say maybe they could offer some kind of steak sauce on the side or add a vegetable side to this dish (thus why only 4 stars). Overall, this restaurant was great and my sister said she definitely wants to go back soon.

To be honest, there are no words to describe how amazing our meals were. We had the Shitake Mushroom Ravioli and the Chicken Parmesan with side Caesar Salads. WOW. The sauces, texture, flavour....just incredible!!! Our waitress was the sweetest, as were the rest of the staff!!! Portions are huge and we're excited for seconds, possibly thirds later!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!!

I went for lunch and it was beyond delicious. I got pasta of the day linguine with sausage and peppers, and it was terrific . The sausage tasted homemade, and it wS a cross between sweet and hot. I will call it just perfect. Service was awesome ,quick, and attentive. On the way out, I picked up babka bread and garlic rolls . Both are 😋 delicious. I was pleasantly surprised that they now take credit cards also . Next time, I will be getting lunch and a dinner or two to go.

Franklin's is my favorite Italian restaurant in Rome, NY.They now take card payments also!Recommend their desserts.Their almond paste cookies are perfect.The Cajun shrimp and scallops pasta was delicious : the sea food was perfectly cooked.The Fiorentine chicken was very generous in size and colorful.

When I was a kid this place was always a special treat to stop at for canolis, and through the years that hasn't changed! Some of the best pastries in the area for sure, especially if you're looking for Italian leaning desserts. Their food is great as well. They have always made a fantastic au ju sauce. They have a cozy, rustic atmosphere. Very cozy vibe. Tables are closer together, it might not be everyone's taste, but there are different areas with different layouts if you prefer more space. They also do banquets, parties, etc. They can be pretty full at times & busy, but that doesn't take away from the service quality, though you might have to wait an extra few minutes to be seated, etc. Very much worth it. If you're just visiting or a local, it's a must visit in the area for sure. Definitely in my top & they have consistently been for like 20 years.Parking: Parking lot located across the street from the restaurant.

What can be said about the Franklin except that it never disappoints. Our club has been going for turkey dinner w. all the fixings for years now and it is a dinner I always anticipate with glee! Food is amazing, service is exceptional, We have been there for other occasions and also just with a couple friends for dinner. There is never a complaint! I hear the desserts are fabulous too, but who has room for dessert after a Hotel Franklin meal? Not I.Dietary restrictions: They have always been able to honor gluten-free entrees.Parking: large parking lot across the street as well as on-street parking.

Oh my Gracious!First of all let me just say the service was incredible! Our waitress was so sweet, kind and helpful!We ordered Broccoli Francaise! We never heard of it before. We expected little pieces. The pieces were huge! It was so good we couldn't stop eating it! We could have just had that.When our meals came stuffed shells and Chicken Zachary we realized that HUGE portions must just be the norm in Italian restaurants. I had the Chicken Zachary and it was absolutely delicious! I love the chicken with broccoli, mushrooms and cherry peppers served over Utica greens with a rich brown sauce. Simply delicious!

My very first time at Franklin's, I ordered takeout. There was no one at the desk when I entered, so I sat on the benches against the wall. Every time a guest entered, they stood at the desk and waited to be seated. 20 mins and several guests later, someone acknowledged I was there and asked if I was being helped. I was given the wrong burger and containers are wrapped in plastic, so the fries were all soggy.Everyone deserves a second chance, right? You can be the judge. Where is your pride Franklin Hotel? Patty was nearly charcoal, terrible.

Two of my co-workers and I went for lunch on a Friday. It did not appear to be very busy, maybe 5 tables with 2-3 people at each. It took a bit to get our orders taken, and once the food was received, none of us were happy. The only things that we were able to make a positive comment about were the bread/garlic butter and Ceasar salad. A fish sandwich was ordered, and the bread and fish were soggy. There were two different chicken and pasta dishes ordered, and the sauces for each and the chicken were extremely bland. We were very disappointed with our visit.

Went for a late lunch this afternoon and once again the service was incredible and the food was absolutely delicious. (Atmosphere may not be considered 5 star for some, but we LOVE that feeling like home, down to earth feeling. I'm there for the consistency of good food and service!)Thank you! 10 stars 🤩

It was Kentucky derby day and I think that they were stressed a bit, ambiance wasn't up to my previous experience. Our waitress seemed hugely distracted and unable to remember small details. The food was the worst I've ever had there. Mac and cheese was creamy but not so cheesy. My fish sandwich was tasteless. My 3 yr old said meatball ucky...too hard mommy ! Very disappointed. Even brought my son and his furst time there who ordered a simple turkey panini and his quote was "I've had bar food better than this!"Kid-friendliness: They did bring out the tiniest dessert (unknown) to sing happy birthday to my soon to be 3 yr old.

Best Italian pastries by far! Homemade in house and fresh. I come here every time I go to Upstate NY! Must go if you haven’t! Lobster tails and cannolis are my favorites. If you’re catering order the Sarah burnharts!

We heard about this place and were very intrigued to to try it out. Upon arriving we got seated and instantly heard the hostess yelling across the room about where to put dirty glasses. We asked to be moved and got placed in the back room, ordered our food and then we hear the hostess again complaining in the hallway about how the tables were being bussed. Finished our meal got out and will never go back.

While I’ve eaten here a number of times over the years, I generally do take out. The restaurant is an older building, but while not updated it is generally clean.The real star of the show is the food. Phenomenal Italian with good prices, large helpings and high quality! Additionally, their home made desserts are out of this world. Fresh made and truly outstanding.As for the service - whenever I’ve eaten in; the service is excellent. When we do take out, it’s really the same story.I’ve never had a bad experience eating here. I think it’s my favorite Italian restaurant in Rome…and that’s saying something.

Went on a Friday during lent at dinner time without a reservation. We were able to wait at the bar and finish half a drink with a very friendly bartender. Seated by a friendly host. Our server was great, took our orders right away. We had fried calamari. I ordered Seafood Ala Maria and husband had fisherman's platter. We were still out of there in about an hour and the food was amazing.
