Former employee. I was hired in the middle of January. During my interview the manager was on the phone the whole time talking about things I won't repeat. I was asked maybe 2 questions about the job and that all . I wasn't trained currently. I was basically just thrown into the ASM job . I had to call the manager in on my 3night at the Rome store because I was never told and codes to anything. She said no one taught you this or that I said no . She was upset and used the excuses that she didn't have patience to train anyone so that the reason for her anger. I'm sorry you shouldnt be a manger then . Thats your job !! I had left because I wasn't being trained right and I refuse to be treated like that . Beware if you work here the manager Is very rude and unprofessionalI'm sure she manages both Rome and Utica . And when it comes to customs she is very mean to them

I never go to this store ever unless i only need a few things and that’s it as it’s a poor looking store and I don’t like going there unless in the area .The one time I go to this store which was today for the first time in a while was to buy only ONE thing! I walk into the store and the manger goes what in the sam’s hell is that color hair? The other employee said idk it must be some expression thing. I cashed out and said some wonderful choice of words to both employees and I didn’t care to hear what they had to say otherwise. Just be careful if you have a different’t color hair and look better than both employees and actually spend hundreds on your hair color you might be talked about if you enter into this store. I can care less but just wanted to warn others if they can’t stand up for themselves like I can. This is the color of my hair as I don’t feel the reason I needed to be talked about but hey it’s not my fault they can’t afford nice things for themselves.

Former Assistant Store Manager at location. Employed from January 24, 2022 to July 17, 2022. My reason for leaving was because the Manager, Julie (McConnell) Woetjle never cared about following company policies that she saw as minuscule, and didn’t care for employee health. I was hospitalized due to injuries that happened at work, and when I had to go to the hospital that day, I was alone in the store on an open to close shift. I messaged Julie about the issue, and was told she was “3 hours away stranded without a vehicle at Cohaug Lake.” She was spotted when I finally could be relieved by the other assistant manager and a cashier 4 hours after the injury. I was denied unemployment after I left because I valued my health over my job. Not to mention, all team members are to be notified of new hires and trainees coming in. I was not notified that Julie was hiring a new assistant manager who would be my replacement, as if I were going to be fired for the injury mentioned above.

When I walked in, the store manager was snobby and rude. Quite frankly, the only reason I stayed to shop was the assistant manager, who dropped what she was doing to help when she didn't have to.If they promoted her to store manager and booted the current one, maybe the place would be in better shape.

I actually like this store alot...BUT I agree with Tori Griffith there is one lady that thinks she is auditioning for American Idol or something and sounds like a cat in heat singing along with the blaring music..Please tell her to save her singing for the shower.

The cashier that was on was cashing a lady out in front of me and while the lady was paying for her items the cashier got her phone out and starting texting on it, and then thecashier noticed that she put some items in a a bag without scanning after the transaction was complete and asked the customer if the cashier scanned the items. Well you would know if you wernt busy on your phone texting and paying attention to what you are doing. Very unprofessional.

I like this store but today there was an employee on the clock singing as loud as she could and it was so off tune! It was inappropriate and unprofessional especially with customers in the store being forced to listen to her but she didn't seem to care! I couldn't get out of there fast enough it was just awful!

Store is older, not very clean. Sales person called me honey 3 times, called the person before me honey 4 times. She was nice, but a bit of over use of honey.

The employee, who I assume was a manager, had her personal cell phone on speakerphone while at the cash register, and continually talked to the other person on the phone about personal issues that customers don't need to hear. She barely stopped talking to ring out the customer in front of me nor when it was my turn. Very unprofessional!!!

Why is every time something I buy never is put in my bag. Then you call to let them know so that you can go back and get what you payed for that was not put in your bag. Please answer the phone. Dear God

The family dollar in Rome NY is a good place to shop the people who work there are nice and helpful and respectful they ask questions if they are able to and sometimes have some great outfits that don't cost a lot
