Always had great service here, we went for puppy shots, spay, routine care, and an emergency. We started bringing our dog here as soon as we brought her home and had great experiences. The vets here give great practical and economical recommendations, and were even very helpful when we had a seizure scare with her, getting her in he same day and charging very competitive prices for a last minute visit. The fixed prices are reasonable, the vets are personable, and our dog loved everyone who worked there. If we hadn't moved we definetly would still be patients.

They have been my dog's vet off and on for 13 years and they have been wonderful. When Milo got sick they did everything they could to help us. Then when I decided enough was enough and it was time to let him go they helped me they hugged me they cried with me they were phenomenal thank you guys for all that you did love Jo ann

UPDATE: NO ONE EVER CONTACTED ME. THEY NEVER RESPONDED AND IT SEEMS THAT THEY REMOVED THE INFORMATION I WAS LOOKING FOR. After reading their responses to others, I have decided NOT to use this vet for my beautiful Medici cat. I am going to try a vet whose office is outside of Rome. I have lowered my rating because of Adirondack's non-responsiveness to me and their attitude towards others. Ok, back to the review in posted when I still had hope. Certainly they must be very busy to not respond, and very stressed to post such snarky reviews to others.-----------'---I had posted a review, and someone responded to it...but I cannot find the response now. I was given a name of someone to ask for when I call, but I have forgotten the name. Would you please let me know again who i should ask for? My elderly cat, Medici, was treated at a specialty hospital with radioactive iodine for her thyroid a few years ago. I have heard good things from a friend about Adirondack Veterinary Service. I would really like to have her blood tested to make sure she is still doing well. I would ask her previous vets to send her records. She also needs her shots updated. Please let me know who to talk to, as the first time I called, the man who answered said that you are not accepting new patients, and he was in a hurry, so I was not even able to put Medici on a waiting list. I'm going to attach a photo of Medici here...please let me know who to ask for when I call again. Thank you.

I went to them w many of my dogs and soon I'll be going there w my kitten. My experiences w them is always great. Can't wait to bring my little guy Neptune there.Update oct 9th 2019 i did go back my neptune is up to date on shots and was fixed. They did a great job they were very nice to myself and my cat who is now almost 2 heres a pic of him happy and healthy

Do not go here! They do not care about your animals and are just there for the money! They will charge $30 just to write 1 prescription if you choose to get it somewhere else. They also will charge you for emergency visit when they call you to come in early because THEY had cancelation that they want filled. When I told them I would not come and pay emergency fee and keep my other appt, they told me I was rude and to find another vet. No worries, I will do that!!!Their reply is not entirely true. They feel I was rude when I laughed and said no that I did not feel I should pay emergency charge to fill their schedule. I had an appt in 3 days. They also say its against "policy" to give my new vet my records. Now I have to go back in there to get them. Maybe some miscommunication, but Ms Sarah, you yourself aren't very nice.

They were helpful on the phone until I went to make the appointment. I had 2 days to go til payday and needed to have an appointment to euthanize my cat. After the heartwrenching chat we had they told me they couldn't even make an appointment for me until I paid for the visit and couldn't guarantee an appointment when I got paid. Money was more important than me or my pet. Disappointed to say the least 😕

The staff and vet are all wonderful here! They fit me into an appointment that worked for my schedule and they took it slow with my rescued GSD so the exam went beautifully without any issues. My Beauty is from working lines and can take issue with strangers trying to get right to it with her. We have finally found our veterinarian after trying two other vet clinics.

Very unprofessional….. I will never go to this veterinarian again. As I was there today, the gentleman that gave my female cat her exam & first two shots, seemed nice. But once we exited the exam room. Then I proceeded to hear the veterinarian that gave my cat, her shots state to another veterinarian that she has six cats & can’t even take care of the one she has now. .… first and last experience, I will have them.….

We loved the tech, she was very nice and courteous. She made this place a lovely environment, she even clipped my dogs nails without asking b/c she saw a need! The vet was nice, but I am not fond of a lot of optional vaccines, just a personal choice. The waiting room isn't the most optimal set up, especially with a reactive dog , as there isn't much space. But, I rated by the service provided, and the care given to my companion was good. Would go back, but prices are a little bit higher than some other local vets.

I am new to the area and have not established vet yet. With the pandemic this is a challenge. I was recommended here. I read the reviews and said let me give it a try. What a mistake. I spoke to Jeff on September 9th and made an appointment for 430 on September 25th for my dog that is having an issue with his leg. He made me give a deposit of $60 to hold the appointment. On 9/14 I received a call from Joyce asking to change my appointment to 9/21 at 4pm. At first I accepted and then realized that I couldn’t do that time due to the size of my dog who is over 200 lbs. and I need help getting him in and out of the vehicle. I called back and after a little back and forth she told me that she need me to come in by 4 pm because that’s the owners last appointment time. She stated that the other vet doesn’t know what he is doing. Red flag... so more back and forth and is was so unprofessional she told me I could still bring my dog in for the original appointment... I was appalled. To see a vet that doesn’t know what he is doing! No thank you. I stated this has hindered my dog as well who needs attention adding to the wait time to get an appointment some where else. I told her to refund my money and she said she would call me the next day and do it because she was to busy. I insisted that she do it then. And requested the owner call me regarding this. Finally she agreed and did the refund. No call from the owner. I checked my bank account and she charged me again instead of refunding me and overdrew my account. She did give me the 35 extra back but really. I again asked for the owner to call me. Be warned... Do not use this facility. I have never experienced anything like this.

Visited yesterday for the first time. Great group of people. They were very friendly with both me and my dog Louie. We were seen in a timely fashion and everything was explained throroughly and clearly. I have to imagine there are cheaper routes for a pet owner however I was satisfied with the level of care and attention my pet and I received.

I have personally never been to this vet, but as I read negative reviews and then the reply back from what sounds like a very immature, I would not step foot in the door ! Just the professional point of view in itself. I’ve run a business for almost 24 years and I couldn’t imagine replying to customers in this way ! Someone needs to grow up or this business will eventually fail! Good luck to all that encounter this “professionalism” !

Dr. Calabrese is always very kind, helpful, and great with my dog. Prices are reasonable as well. Can get you in quickly if there is a problem and your pet is a regular patient there.

They are requiring proof of vaccination to go inside with your pet. Some may be ok with that but I'm not. This is America. Today it's the vet, tomorrow it's the grocery store or doctors office. Wake up people. Also my partner is the one who usually takes our dogs to the vet and when I asked for her records to switch vets they told me I couldn't have them because I wasn't my partner. For my own dog! Ridiculous.

Dr. Calabrese and staff has always went above and beyond in the care of our furbaby Oreo. These past few months were so hard and we had to say good bye to her. I could not thank you all enough for the care and compassion you showed when we were going through this tuff time . Dr. Calabrese , Nancy Salsberg and Joyce H thank you all for such wonderful care you gave to Oreo these past 15 years very much appreciated. <3❤❤

Not exactly the most professional of establishments.Very small waiting room with two wooden benches facing each other about four feet apart, so you are forced to either keep your pet on your lap or wait outside during the long waits due to poor scheduling. Literally watched a lady get told she needed to keep her dog quiet, because the receptionist was in the back trimming a bird's nails and her dog was barking because of the two other dogs sharing the cramped waiting room.All in all, I wouldn't recommend the place and have no further plans of returning there.

*DISCLAIMER: I've never been here, just commenting on how they respond to people's reviews, feel free to disregard my reveiw*They seem very personal, Like its a small town clinic with a small staff. Their Reponses are funny, but also a tiny bit aggressive when they don't know the name (Passive aggression? Not sure, read some yourself and decide!) I find that funny, and I would totally bring my dog here if im ever in need of a vet around Rome.

Made an appointment after having poor luck with another Vet, Was very pleased with the service. The Vet sat with us and explained everything in terms we understood and that was important. I think the cost was inline with any other Vet in the area. Place was very clean and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend to anyone with a pet.

Terrible doctor. Gave my dog a spay. The removed bladderstones. When he stitched the bladder did not stitch up completely. Dog could have died. Never offered a refund of any kind. Went to Syracuse she had to undergo another major surgery. His bill was $1000 plus. Syracuse was $3900 to fix his carelessness . Never offer appology or anything. I wouldn't take any animal to him. My dog almost died. If I would have waited she would have.

Took my cat in this morning due to bleeding in her gential area. The first place I took her wanted 2 grand for a procedure we weren't sure was going to work. We took her here for a second opinion and these vets were so unbelievably kind and gentle. They found out what was actually wrong with her and it only cost around $200.
