Wonderful place. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We are new aquarium owners and they answered all our questions with patience. They were so helpful and reassuring when we had a sick fish(NOT purchased from them!)They are now the only place we will shop! We highly recommend this store.

An old town favorite that has been there for generations. Very nice to have a mom & pop store with such personable people still in business. Great selection of salt & fresh water fish and more. If anything, check out their axolotl babies! So cool.

I have been in the aquarium industry for at least 40 years. These guys are on point. They keep it simple and take the time to talk to you. There fresh water stock is healthy and they stand behind there product. You won't find any fast talking salesman at Brian's!

They always take the time to talk to you and help you out and will order things if they don't have them. They offer boarding small animals which is convenient. Prices are fair.

Incredibly kind staff—these people really know about the animals that they are selling! The store is clean and well-stocked, the advice that you get is from genuine animal lovers. Brian is knowledgeable, kind, and down to Earth. It’s a pleasure every time we go there, and it gives us peace of mind knowing that our pets are having their needs met by caring professionals! 💖

i’ve bought all my fish and snails here since i moved to long island. run by very kind people. the store has a bit of an outdated look but the animals are well taken care of. a nice alternative to petco.

Normally, I really don’t like to leave a review like this. I bought my daughter a $7.99 fish this morning. We were told any problems no worries, bring the fish back. Petco had the same fish for $3.99, but we figured we’d shop small. Fast forward 5-6 hrs later the fish died. I called the store, and they pretty much insinuated it was my kid’s fault because it was with a beta. So now, I’ve got a heartbroken kid, who lost her first fish. She sat & watched this fish all day, and the beta was non aggressive. Definitely don’t recommend, if you have younger fish owners.

Staff is very Knowledgeable and honest and there Albino and regular Tiger barbs are very high quality and very healthy there cherry barbs are also high quality and healthy Brian's Aquarium also sells a wide variety of cherry barbs including both sexes and albino cherry barbs which you can also buy both sexes as well also he sells Red Finned Cigar Sharks Which are labeled as rainbow sharks 100% love this store over Petco and PetSmart

I have been coming here since I was a kid and now I bring my own children here. They always know what to do with any fish issue I run into. And they are the nicest people too.

Brian is terrific, as are all the staff. This place is the definition of a “mom and pop” shop and the main reason I will go to them as long as they are here! The experience is well worth any $ that might be spent above a chain store’s prices (which are all comparable anyway). They care about what they do!

Brian's Tropical Aquarium is the best! The owners are wonderful people who are always incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. They really take the time to make sure that you understand how to care for your pets. The guppies that we purchased here produced so many babies that we actually had to bring some back! I would highly recommend that you support this small business who truly cares for their customers as much as they do their animals.

Great local family owned fish store. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Never feel rushed when there. The gentlemen Brian & Dom (hopefully I remembered his name correctly) are very respectful and helpful. They are always willing to take the time to explain things and make suggestions. Rather than always going to Petco etc. for your aquarium needs, I recommend going here. You may pay a little more but I’m sure it helps these little family owned shops greatly. Highly recommend

I couldn't ask for a better experience. After our fish (purchased from a different store) died and we didn't know what caused it, I called 4 different fish stores and got all different types of information. Joe answered the phone when I called and was so helpful and understanding. After I got my tank ready for a new fish (per his instructions) and picked up our new guy this weekend, our fish is thriving! Thank you so much to everyone who helped get our gourami home! Their advice is spot on!

Very welcoming place! Incredibly knowledgeable with lifetimes of experience working inside. I could not believe how friendly everyone was, it's mostly unheard of now-a-days! While there selection is very very limited for dogs, if you can get what you need at Brian's then you'll be truly happy you went. My only gripe... Would be shopping there for a few years now, I notice most of the dog toys are literally (same exact one not sold I'd assume) have not moved from shelf, as the discoloration & dust are immense :(. Would love to see a fresh new brand, fresh new display. I personally do not mind things being 10% more then big box because the level of expertise inside is godly! Thank you for years of being in our community & giving us a choice!

This place is a wonderful store. One stop shopping for all your pets. I have a pit bull and a ball python. This wasn't my first dog but my first snake. Brian is very knowledgeable and helped me figure out everything I need.

Clean pet store with friendly staff and reasonable prices. Their selection of fish and aquarium plants is mostly the usual one. Not a bunch of tanks so I wouldn't refer ot this as an aquarium store. Had the basics and is good if you live in the area but we drove 40 mins so we probably won't return but I would if I lived in the area. Their tanks were clean, no dead fish and their Betta fish looked very happy and they were in individual glass bowls, mini but not tiny like those stupid cups I hate that people use. They also have healthy looking axolotl's, tadpoles, a few reptiles and some birds.There are supplies for all pets from fish, birds, cats and dogs. Definitely visit if you live in the area.

Love the people here who share their expertise to assist you in making decisions. Prices and selection are SO much better than Petco or any other chain store. I've bought tropical fish from this store and they will soon be two years old. The fish are healthy and there is a great selection. Can't go wrong shopping local!

I bought 2 fish from there. They were orange fish, a tiger and a candy cane I think. The lady told me how to adjust it to the water. I went home and followed directions. Within minutes the one of the fish was dying and later died that night. I brought it back and the lady insisted I adjusted the fish wrong even though I didn’t and have 10 other fish doing great. Fine so she gave me a new one and I checked my water to be safe. That was the candy cane that died. 2 days later the tiger died. Can’t be from adjusting it wrong right. Didn’t bother to bring back since I was blamed for it in the first place. Now 3 days later the replacement candy fish just died while all my other fish are thriving. Not gonna even call because I feel uncomfortable about getting blamed again. They must possibly be caring for the fish incorrectly. I also bought a dwarf frog that I haven’t seen since I put him in 2 weeks ago I assume went under the gravel and died he was very small and thin. They must do really good business and not worry because I see the same story as mine with the attitudes on there reviews like there a chain store that doesn’t care about customer service. It’s fine I will be going to PETCO across the street for all my pet needs from now on they offer 30 day guarantee for fish and none of the ones I bought from there have died.

Everytime I go to Brian's I leave very happy. I bring my puppy along who is excited to see & mostly smell all the treats. Lorraine is sweet, after my purchase and if there isn't another customer needing help we chit chat. You don't get that "old-fashioned" experience in most stores these days. I love shopping & supporting small businesses, if they don't have what you need they will order it. Brian special ordered an igloo dome with heat for an outdoor cat who adopted me, but wouldn't come into house. This saved his life. Everyone should go to Brian's Pets, you'll be glad you did.

My daughter called saying the pond was overflowing due to the hose being left on and I was very low on Pond Prime. Since I wouldn’t be there before they closed Brian’s let me pay over the phone and left some prime outside for me!
