Salvation Army HenriettaSalvation Army is my favorite thrift store compared to the few others we have in Rochester NY. My go to place for older cotton bed sheets. You know the ones that are cool and crisp and smell amazing when you hang them outside to dry! Yup!!! Those are available for just a few dollars! But!!! I was really shocked at some of the other prices! I'm not sure who is coming up with the prices but they are completely outrageous. I understand they're a not for profit but you're not selling this stuff for the amount you're asking so nobody wins. Not the store and definitely not the people you're supposed to be helping. Salvation Army needs to rethink the pricing of their items. I get they have rent to pay and employees need to get payed but again,if you're not selling stuff, you're not moving the stuff. On a good note the employees are very nice and the store is clean UPDATED REVIEW 😊Response to owner,I agree with you in regards to Salvation Army doing a much needed community service for people struggling to overcome addiction, homelessness and other situations that arise in ones life. I also understand overhead costs. While I find Salvation Army a better thrift store, In my opinion, pricing is a bit high. Personally I think something marked $2.99 from the dollar store is not something I think is ok. I also think there are bargains to be found! I've found many. I am also happy to hear Salvation Army has a program to help folks that need clothing and furniture, I know a couple of families that are currently in need of things they can't afford and will have them call to apply. I will update this post with that information.

This is a very clean store that is well organized and labeled. It doesn’t have the greatest selection, but that’s the nature of thrift stores. They can be hit or miss. As a sidenote, Google maps will take you a very roundabout way to get here. There is no need to turn down a side road. This is on the main road just past the light at the entrance for the marketplace mall.

Came home to Rochester for a visit. Walmart has no checkouts so I stopped in at salvation army, got what I wanted for a fraction of Walmart cost and got checked out immediately. Too bad NY has outlawed plastic bags though

Excellent selection and prices. Played Christian music over the speakers, which was actually very peaceful. *I was able to sticky nose and or mouth out to breathe as not many people shopping. (*Limited to 34 shoppers with "face coverings" to get in. FYI) Shopped in peace. No one bugged me. Fitting rooms open, restroom was not "for your safety" or this place would have got 5 stars. Handicap parking and accessible parking and entryway. Service was excellent. Highly recommend going on Wednesday. Most everything is more than 50% off or more all day and evening. (Pro tip.)

A pretty large thrift store. Great prices and fast service / checkout. Huge selections of clothes for each type of clothing. There's a large variety of clothing and items are well organized. This store has shoes too! If you go at certain times throughout the week there will be items marked for discount, you can end up with a pretty low costing checkout!

BEDBUGS HERE. STYA AWAY…I bought a quilt and a shower curtain. BOTH had bedbugs between the folded linens. Never again. I had originally planned on posting about their SHAMEFUL PRICES..but this takes the rotten cake. Shut.it.down.

Clean, well-organized, friendly staff. I always frequent thrift stores due to my budget, and after checking a few out in Rochester, this store gets all my business. A friendly community with its own regulars. Fun to see the staff and customers on a first name basis.

This store has a huge amount of Zara clothes and they charge 60% off retail prices and 80% off retail for damaged items. The majority of items are damaged and some of them are in unusable condition. For a Zara coat with missing buttons or holes they want 40$ ! Really?! And they position themselves as “a thrift store”? Why would you pay so much money for a damaged item if Zara stores have sales with 70-80% off?! You can also try on items and then return them if purchasing from Zara. This place is not at all a thrift store with the prices they charge, shameful.

I've been fortunate to find Corningware kitchen items, nearly new and unblemished scarves, quality blouses, jackets and shirts, handbags and accessories-all at affordable prices. The pricing at this store is better than Goodwill or Savers. This store has daily specials, and Wednesdays they offer 50% off on 4 different color coded apparel tagged items. I'm a fan.

Great rotating selection of mens clothes, shoes, and absolute seas full of womens' clothes. Sometimes I hide in them for a brief respite from the thrifting fatigue.The staff are accommodating, and understand the plight of an art student trying to be the best dressed in the class. It's hard.

I have complained so. many. times at this store about how every time I come in the plus size section is blocked by racks of clothes to be put away. It never changes. That sends a message to your plus size customers. And so does the rude employee who was there today. I come to this store less and less; I should just stop completely.

Extremely rude employees, my significant other and I walked in at 742 pm and the guy behind the register failed to greet us with anything polite, instead he said “we are closing soon” and we replied with okay, knowing they didn’t close until 8pm. And he said it again a second time as we proceeded to enter. We spent a good 3 or 4 minutes looking for a blouse and trousers when another one of the employees walked into the back room and turned off all of the lights but 2 sets. So now we feel rushed and decide to leave. This is not how a business should operate. If employees are being paid to be there until 8pm or later they should be doing their job until that time. Not shooing people away.

The prices are too high! The premise of the store is to sell items that were "donated" at reasonable prices to help families with limited incomes. I have donated items to the Salvation Army stores and found them to be twice as high in price than I was selling them at my garage sales. Please take this review a a possible "wake-up" call to those pricing these items.

This store has a huge selection, you'd need an entire day to go through everything. Prices seems to be much higher than at any other SA stores, but affordable on half off day Wednesday). I would love it if they had better quality control, I understand that this is a cheap non-profit, but c'mon, who would want a stained old tee shirt that is not even good for rags or a sweater that is extremely pilled and shrunken? Racks are often overflowing with stuff which makes it hard to browse. Also... THE STAPLE thing really need to stop. Very often when they staple price tag it ruins the item, it might be fine for thick knits, jeans, even woven cotton, but it completely ruins lightweight tee shirt type knits or silk, I can't tell you how many items I did not buy because of that.

Great selection and great prices! I purchased a few things here and paid $14. If I had bought them at another thrift store, I'm sure the total would have been closer to $20. Great finds! They also have a bathroom for customers to use.

Whomever was running the store the evening of 5/4/2017 is quite the douche. We walked in and he walked towards us in the middle of the store and announced "sir we're closing" - I thought to myself it's 8 O'Clock already? I looked at the time and it said 7:48 - I said "it's only 7:48 we've got 12 minutes" and he said "well I have to close right at 8 cause he (?) has to catch a bus" - don't know who he is and not my problem.... We had plenty of time to look around and still get out by 8. WE WILL NEVER SHOP AT SALVATION ARMY AGAIN - PLENTY OF OTHER THRIFT STORES IN THE AREA.

Love the store, most of the time I find stuff I like, I've never felt that things were over priced, the customer service is very nice and I like the manager. This is a store you must visit and support in some kind of way, God Bless take care. (Smile)
