Great experience! The owners and volunteers are very attentive to the cats and they have tons of space; receive lots of love. We loved getting to see the different personalities of the cats, and we attended one of their event nights (Movie night, Star Wars)! The atmosphere was super relaxed and enjoyable. Will definitely visit again. Also note that this is definitely a safe space, and LGBTQIA+ friendly!

Such a chill place. It was nice to sit back and relax with cats. They also have a couple of reptiles. The cats were all nice, and their rules were reasonable. There's limited food for humans, but a few drink options. It was enough for me, especially when the cays were the main stars.

My friend and I had such a wonderful time at the Pawsitive Cat Cafe, the staff was friendly and the cats were even friendlier! We both appreciated the owners working with no-kill rescue shelters, and their overall very ethical approach.Thanks to Johnny & Suzanne for a great experience! Adopt, don't shop!

I love this place it’s heavenly. They have all the tools there to make the cats happy: Rules of respect for the cats when guests visit, toys for them to play with, vertical and horizontal scratching surfaces, areas for them to retreat when they’re sensorily overloaded.They know how to take care of cats here.I came here with my friend and we loved it so much I wish I can take them all with me!

The interior is so spacious and very relaxing. When I visited they had seven cats, which is fewer than normal, but I didn't mind because that means they are having successful adoptions! They also have a few permanent cats that are identified by their adorable collar ties.The staff is super friendly and the cats have lots of room to roam around. There are cat towers, lots of toys, and lots of seating available. They also have a big screen TV showing movies for cats (birds, fish, etc). It's a very fun environment and I highly recommend checking them out!My tip for parking is to park along Mathews St. next to Spot Coffee, which is free (as is all street parking) on the weekends.

All the cats were super social and playful. Nice place to sit and relax, or play with kitties. They also have some non fur babies like a snake, frogs, and lizards. I got my two fur babies from the adoption agency they partner with. They take adoptions VERY seriously! We were trying to get them for December but we're told to wait till January just because they have had kittens adopted for "presents" and then abandoned shortly after. They recover them because all of the kittens are chipped and they are able to find them. I am happy to say that my fur babies are happy and safe.

Amazing place, I feel at home when I am here! I cannot speak highly enough of the owners as well. John and Suzanne care deeply for the cats and it shows. I’ve seen some negativity on here and to those people I say, I’m GLAD they take care of the cats and won’t adopt them out to just anyone or let little kids run around and terrorize them. They have to protect their cats as well as the guests and I highly respect them. You’ll find a wide range of cat personalities from super playful to a little more shy and reserved but they take their time to really care for the cats and place them in the right homes. Come to Pawsitive if you want cozy vibes, friendly cats and thoughtful caring owners. Plus a yummy snack or drink while you’re there! This place was sorely needed by Rochester and I will come back frequently.

This place is incredible. 💜 I loved visiting and petting the cats. Staff is very friendly and for having over 30 cats, the place is surprisingly clean and very well kept.Thank you for the memorable time.The hot chocolate was delicious as well.

Loved it here so much! The baked goods and tea were amazing, but of course I came for the kitties! There were a few dozen friendly, well-kept ADOPTABLE kitties you can play with - or or just chill and hang out. Make sure you make a reservation in advance so you can have your kitty playtime!

This place is amazing and so cute. All the kitties are such a delight and the business owners are so friendly and caring. They offer some great varieties of food and drink with reasonable pricing as well. Adoptions are available for all the kitties as well.Definately will back and will ALWAYS support small business.

Events are perfect for a date night or just drop by for a very affordable casual visit!What I love about this Pawsitive vs others in the area (which tend to be cramped and confined) is how much open space and enrichment activities they have for the cats.The owners care very much for their cats and have dedicated their lives to ensuring they are entertained, safe, and happy. Get to know them — they are incredibly passionate and friendly people.Cats, like all living creatures that have boundaries and are naturally shy. The Pawsitive Cat Cafe is very much a safe space for these cats.

Absolutely lovely cat café in a lovely area. The cafe eating area and the cat play area are separated by a, "hairlock" for sanitary reasons which is great. The cat play area is awesome with some many adorable kitties and so many things to do (and even a couple lizard/gecko)! And the vegan offerings from the Red Fern vegan bakery were delicious.

Extremely lovely place to hang out and just have a nice time with the cats. I love that it's an open space with separate rooms for the cats to take breaks from people if they need to, and everyone is really great about making sure the cats (and other people) are respected. I think it's a good place to see how the cats will behave in a home since they're not overcrowded or attention-starved. I love the art featured by local creators. Minus food points for limited snack choices but plus food points for the snacks being gluten free + vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Sweet treats available for gluten intolerant individuals.

I didn’t expect so many cats!! It was wonderful. It just felt so cluttered in there, could use a good deep clean, maybe an air purifier in the litter box room for the smell. I’m sure it’s tough with so many animals though, working at an animal hospital I’m familiar.

One of my favorite places in Rochester!! Perfect spot for a date night or just to get out of the house and beat the seasonal depression. The owners are so friendly and very passionate about the kitties. They have tons of toys to entertain the cats with, and you can spend either a half hour or an hour with them. Highly recommend for any animal lovers or anyone looking to adopt a cat!Anyone who has left a negative review is probably just upset that they or their kids weren’t allowed to treat the cats like toys. Cats are living creatures that deserve to be respected. The (very reasonable) rules are in place to keep both the customers and cats safe and happy.

While out walking about the city last evening, we noticed the Cat Cafe from across the street. We decided to check it out and we’re greeted by a very friendly gentleperson who immediately made us feel welcome. We decided to spend a half hour ($6/30 minutes) with the cats and it was worth every penny! The cats were friendly, amusing, and spirited. The management was happy to tell us names and let us know a little about the current “drama” at the cat cafe (completely cat based and very cute). They were very professional and clearly intent on ensuring that both cat colony and human interlopers were happy and safe. Also - what a neat model! You can adopt most of the cats if so compelled! Definitely recommend a visit if you’re an appreciator of felines. We didn’t partake in any coffee or goodies, but noted they offered cookies from Red Fern 🤤

I like the cats, the volunteers are friendly, the owners are also friendly. Coffee isint the greatest and the snacks/food options are very limited.A lot goes into the care for the cats and that is really cool. You aren't allowed to pick any of them up and perhaps that has a very valid reason so I'm ok with that.Mostly younger people that go there. Make for a cute short stop for a date or something.Any cost without a bow tie is up for adoption if I understand correctly. Cats 1 year and younger are 150$ while everyone else is only 100$.
