I've been taking my dog to Suburban for about 10 years. I've always had a great experience, from the front desk to the techs and vets. Even with emergencies, they were able to get my dog in and looked at. My dog recently passed away and they sent a nice card.

Everything was great,but never did get to speak with the vet after the surgery and one problem is the staff sometimes are sloppy when handling the paper work and giving you someone else's paper work.andyou wonder who got yours. I took my two Rabbits to see Dr.McKinney and Jordan for the first time and they were amazing! Super kind super caring and our bunnies enjoyed their visit. They got their nails done and we found out we have Two girls! Our bunnies are bonded together and do everything together so I am happy they got to share this experience together.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this facility! The animal care assistant we had today was very kind and she handled my chameleon very gently. Dr. McKinney took the time to answer all of my questions and gave her a thorough exam. It’s very comforting to know that all of my reptiles have such a compassionate, knowledgable vet! In June, my cat started showing severe signs of distress that another vet office out of state could not seem to diagnose for weeks. After we moved back to Rochester in July, my cat had another distress episode and I immediately rushed him to the emergency vet in Henrietta where they determined he would need emergency surgery the following day to remove a foreign object that was stuck in his colon. His appointment the next day was with Cats and Critters and Dr. Fisher there said that Suburban Animal Hospital had the equipment to perform the surgery and offered to transport him there herself. She along with Dr. Dugan were successfully able to remove the foreign object and saved my cat’s life. He is now fully healed from the surgery and is back to his normal happy self. The team at Suburban Animal Hospital was outstanding and we’re so kind and helpful to me and my cat from surgery day all the way through his recovery. I can not recommend this vet office enough and will be forever grateful they were able to save my beloved cat!!

They're so nice and helpful! We took our syrian hamster here several times as he was getting older and they were able to check him out and give him some arthritis medicine to make him more comfortable. They've also been helpful planning what to do when our little guy passes away. Would recommend this hospital if any kind of pet needs help!

I have used Suburban Animal Hospital for about 14 years now. I lost (she passed) a special dog (friend) last June. Suburban Animal Hospital was there for me throughout her entire life and was incredibly supportive when she passed! I have a new puppy now, and I wouldn't consider any other clinic after all my years with Suburban! The level of professionalism as well as the demeanor of the staff is a winning combination. My conclusion...6 STARS!!! THREE thumbs up!! (Is that possible??!!) Highly recommend!!

My regular vet couldn't get me in when a snapping turtle took off the end of my dogs tail. Suburban had me in right away and took care of the problem. Great follow up care and reasonable prices for the surgery. Great thanks to the great folks there!

This place has consistently been absolutely wonderful to us and have gone above and beyond with 5 dogs over the years. They deserve 5 stars in every category, from overall care, loving vets & techs, communication, professionalism, cleanliness, fair pricing (as far as vet care goes) and the comfort of the pet being their top priority. Even after all the years we’ve been going here I continue to be impressed with and grateful for the amount of care and concern shown to our dogs and quite honestly our whole family (for ex. helping dogs over the rainbow bridge is a family affair). Every staff person there seems happy to work there, which says a lot about the owners and company overall. Truly a wonderful place for vet care for your pets!

I have been with this vet for years and when you actually somehow get an appointment it’s great! They are wonderful and do a great job. Why I am rating this hospital so low is because the communication between the customers and the vets is inefficient. I have called them to set up and appointment for my animal and I have to leave a message every time I call. Which is fine if they actually stuck to their time limit. I didn’t hear back from them for many days until I called again and they called me the next day. I wasn’t able to answer so I thought oh they might try again. They never did. Another time is when I was at college and I wanted to make an appointment in advance and they weren’t booking out that far and they said they would call me when it was opening. They never did. Overall I like the work they do here it’s just incredibly frustrating to even attempt to make an appointment here. I understand it’s busy but the phone call system doesn’t really work so well. I have talked to others about this vet and they are also frustrated and trying to figure out if we should stay or not.

Our dog Auggie recently had an emergency and the staff at Suburban helped us navigate the situation. Dr. Fisher was amazing. We cannot thank her enough! She helped get to the root cause of the issue enabling us to get Auggie to emergency for care that ultimately saved his life. She showed the utmost compassion and worked with us to get him the needed treatment. To all of the staff and doctors at Suburban, we thank you for the support and quality care you provide every time we are there! Auggie is happy and excited to see you when we arrive and he remembers the love and support you showed him when he was very sick. We will always bring our pets to Suburban!

We have been going to suburban for years, and recently had to spend a lot of time there due to my dog being very ill. The staff was incredibly accommodating and really helped put me at ease. Both vets that cared for my boy kept me in the loop the entire time he was hospitalized and were incredibly sweet to him!!!We love them :)

Surburbean Vet has been so wonderful to us and our cats. They helped us through the final months and days. They were so sweet and compassionate. They also care for our younger cat and they are equally excellent in care and gentle manner. We highly recommend them!

After 16 years our family put our beloved family beagle, Daisy down. She was under the meticulous and loving care of the techs and doctors at Suburban Animal Hospital her entire life. Anytime I went to pick her up I was always greeted kindly and Daisy was welcomed with open arms. When the day came to send her over the rainbow bridge I was beyond impressed with the care our Daisy received. We were escorted right into our room and the vet tech brought us water. Dr. Monica, the vet that took care of our dog was gentle and loving with her, and was also upset at the loss of one of their longest running furry visitors. She talked us through the entire process and assured us she was going to be okay. I would not wish the process of losing a furry family friend on anyone but I assure you Suburban Animal Hospital will be quick, kind and gentle. I could not have imagined a better transition for my Daisers. A huge thanks to the staff for taking care of my Daisy Dawg.

Solid, won't necessarily upsell you, quick wait times. Dr. Blair is really nice. Palliative/comfort meds need to be directly requested for end of life care. Go to Cornell Animal Hospital for surgical situations.

I'm not a patient here but I have a sick dog and my vet has been suggesting I go here. I've had my animals and have done rescue since the 70s and am appalled at how veterinary care has deteriorated since covid. I also do not appreciate that your pet is now removed from your presence while being treated. Obviously for x-rays and ultrasound but all other minor procedures I want to see what is going on. Nail clips, blood draw? Always have been able to watch, now it's an inconvenience? My nail clips are coming back partially done. Injections? Have they been done? Again all since covid have things changed and these negative reviews? I'm seeing all over except for the one I've been with since 2004. It's going to get worse folks as veterinary enrollment is down 50%. Again since this new administration. And work shortages? Nobody wants to work anymore so breeders better put the brakes on because you won't be able to get your fur babies care in the future. This is breaking my heart as I have a sick dog that I can't even get seen until Monday and that will be a change of vet offices so yeah, it's gonna cost ya, lady. This is a long story short but we animal lovers are in for alot of heart ache.

I have been taking my pets here for about 12 years now, if not more and every time my pets and I receive the best service. Staff if very friendly, will follow up, and always keep me informed on what's best for my pets.The most recent times I went, I had the pleasure, working with Erica, who helped my parent's very anxious dog, less nervous. She also up to date with when the doctor will be comming in( they were very busy that day). But for the best care, I never mind a wait,if there ever is one.Thank you guys for all you do!

We were do for annual exams for our senior dogs in August, when I called to schedule the earlier time they could give me was November 25. When we arrived on that day, we waited awhile to go into an exam room, then waited an additional hour before we even saw the doctor. Our dogs get very anxious at the vet and were panting heavily and barking for over an hour while we waited. There was no attempt to give them treats or calming activities by the staff. The tech then came to get our older dog to do bloodwork and just grabbed his leash and yanked on it instead of giving him a chance to get up, which being a senior dog takes him a little bit longer. The doctor was very quick when he arrived and had no idea about our pets past medical history or surgical history.

I was really nervous about bringing my kitty to the vet. Her previous owners weren't very kind to her, and it took a lot of work to get her to trust people and be confident again. I didn’t know what kind of behavior to anticipate from her, especially with the way she yowls in her carrier.I received a phone call after they took her in- Dr. Ferderbar told me my cat was an absolute angel for her. She was so gentle with Almond, very informative on what she needs, gave great tips to help manage her anxiety better at home, and when I brought her home and let her back out to roam, she immediately sprung back to her usual self, meowing, playing, and seeking love and pets.Almond is deeply special to me and her health, safety, and comfort are my top priorities. I think we really found a good practice that deeply cares about the animals who come their way needing help. I feel confident knowing my kitty will be taken care of, and it will be affordable.Note: be prepared for long wait times during the pandemic. They deal with a lot of frightened animals and they're doing the best they can to make sure all of their adorable patients get the attention and care that they need.

We have been very pleased with the professional and caring attitude by all of the staff and doctors here. We have an elderly dog with heart disease, and the vets always listen to our concerns and address them and make sure I as an owner understand my dog's health. They are always willing to answer questions and will work within your budget to make the best care available to your pet. I also wanted to say that we had the pleasure of seeing Dr. McKinney when he was working with Cats and Critters and he treated our elderly house rabbit. He is a wonderful vet for rabbits and other exotic pets. He is very calm and gentle and the animals sense this and respond wonderfully to him.

We have a regular vet that we take our cats to, but one of them became ill and needed to be seen right away. So we called on Suburban Animal Hospital and they were fantastic. They treated our friend with the utmost compassion. Nothing against the other vet; there's just a more clinical feel to that atmosphere. He employs great knowledge, but lacks warmth. At Suburban, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The technician and the doctor explained every step of the procedures as well as our options. Our questions were thoroughly answered. My daughter really handled everything; I just transported her and our pet. But I was pleased with all aspects of the service from start to finish.

We had a very nervous cat & another at home. The friendly staff & vet, Dr. Jason Sitkarovski, went above & beyond to make our cat & us feel less stressed. They also gave us advice on how to get our other cat to them without trauma. The office is very clean and well organized.
