I'm Heather, I am a groomer at this shop and I'd like to say hello to ALL my babies and apologize that I've been out but I definitely will be back as soon as my arm let's me. 💚Again, great shop! Its been there 46yrs for a reason!!

I normally don’t find time to write a review about a business.. but on my way home from the groomer I could not stop thinking about how genuinely kind Tracy at shaggy dog is. She has to be one of /if not the most sweetest woman that I have ever met. There is no doubt the amount of love and compassion she has for dogs. I would not want anyone else to groom my dog after seeing the bond Tracy has with it seems all of shaggy dog clients obviously including my own.. my 15year old pup Jackson always goes in looking like a fluffy mess, and walks out looking and smelling like a young stud!! I highly recommend using shaggy dog to anyone who wants to make sure their furry friend gets treated like royalty and come out looking like a million bucks. Thank you Tracy and shaggy dog for your service and compassion. We will be back again! ❤️

I love that they have quiet hours for dogs that need it. Tracy and Taylor do a wonderful job with my dog, and the price is unbeatable. I've never had any issues, and they go the extra mile to keep my dog happy while she's there.

Loved the ladies that were working there taking good care of my dog I just took into my home a few days prior. My dog is skittish a bit but they were so kind and loving towards her. My beautiful German Shepherd came back home smelling so good and so soft. They also gave her a Christmas bandana, so cute! 🤗 They informed me a little bit about German Shepherds and were just kind and caring when they spoke to me. Also was not pricy and who doesn't love a good bargain. Great people. Definitely recommend this place

They managed to trim our very snippy chihuahua*s nails without issue. Will definitely be back. - update: been going almost a year. No issues. Still very happy with the service happy chihuahua

They take the phone off the hook so no calls can come through. The woman I normally get my dog hair by I think she quit. So they don’t understand the schedule I missed an appointment they said they would call me back never did I had to go to PET SUPPLY and pay 70 dollars for a damn cut which is insane

Just left there and these girls are great. They did our dogs nail so nice which was amazing cause she wouldn’t let no one else touch her she is a bitter when it comes to her nails but they were great with her. Diffently going back already made appt. Very nice girls and great with the animals

I was referred here by my bff when i moved back to the area and thank God for her! We love this place…my dog is 19 and has been coming here since he was about 16. He’s in his Golden Years and Tracy takes such amazing care of him. She’s warm, gentle and puts so much love into grooming my furbaby 🐶 💙 Thanks Ladies ❤️💜❤️💜❤️

They are wonderful. Mason is very timid and they take such good care of him. He always looks so cute when I pick him up.. they do a great job. So glad I chose shaggy Dog as his groomer.

If you’re going to post a review on here you have to have been an actual customer! My dogs went to The Shaggy Dog and loved going there! They always did a great job and the groomers were all friendly. My last dog used to get excited when I drove her there and she recognized the route. If you weren’t a customer then you have no business posting a “review”. That’s how rumors get started and develop a life of their own! Rumors destroyed Irondequoit Mall. Base your reviews on FACTS and not gossip!

Everyone at Shaggy Dog is very nice and professional. My dog gets really bad anxiety and has never allowed us to clip his nails at home. One Petco told us not to bring him back at some point bc they couldn’t handle it. So he does take a lot of extra effort than most other dogs and they did just that for him. His nails were overgrown but they got them down to a good length without hurting him and they soothes him when he started freaking out. I’ll definitely be returning with my big baby.

I took my baby boy in today for a much needed groom and I have to give these ladies at the Shaggy Dog props! They were short staffed and never canceled anyone's appointment and stayed on track as far as time. They did an amazing job grooming and loving my morkie and he was so happy when I picked him up. They are all animal lovers and you can tell how passionate they are to their work by the wagging tales of their clients!!!! Thank you so very much Carrie, Tracy and Josie for making my baby a happy lil doggie ❤See you in March!!!!!

We love Shaggy Dog! Fairly priced and they always do such a great job! They take their time and their quality work shows. Our girl always leaves happy and we are never nervous leaving her there unlike at the big box pet stores like PetSmart or Petco. They truly love dogs!

Was introduced to Shaggy Dog years ago by a good friend. We have only taken our pooch to one other place and that was only because Shaggy Dog was closed that day. We will never go anywhere else as long as Shaggy Dog is around. Friendly staff, and Barkley loves it there. They do excellent Everytime.🐾❤️

Sense my favorite groomer Rachel left and went to spots grooming on east ridge rd. I have not had to go back to shaggy dog. I am just glad I found out where Rachel moved to. She is a fantastic groomer I love how she makes my dogs beautiful.

My dog and I love this place! Very friendly employees, all fantastic with animals, and great prices! My dog is only a puppy too, and they manage to give her an incredible cut and keep her calm during it! Will be going only here from now on!!!

My review of this is not because of the place specifically but because I’ve seen more than a few bad reviews even before this last one.. and instead of investigating employees and situations and taking the customers into consideration and apologizing for bad experiences the owners husband would rather argue and reply back... seen reviews of people asking to speak with owner before hand and never getting the chance. Seen reviews of the shop in general.. but most reviews are of employees and quiet a few sounding like 1 specific employee.

I tried this place out because someone recommended it to me. The place honestly smells like mold and everything looks extremely run down. The staff isn't very friendly and not professional at all. My dog came home honestly scared and looked more shaggy then when she went in there. She also smelled like a bottle of terrible old lady perfume when she got back home. I would not recommend this place to anyone

I just took my dog there...he has been there 4 other times...the lady that does my dogs grooming was nice...but this last time he went there it was different...the same lady wasnt to friendly with me she took my dogs leash and dragged him bc he didnt want to go with her...when I picked him up 3hrs later there was a lady in the back saying by, thanks for the memories,I didnt take that to well...my dog came home and had a foghorn cough that he didnt have before and seemed scared...he always slept under my bed,that's where he preferred...and now sleeps on my bed near my head all night for the past 3 night.
