Mayer's Hardware at Winton and Blossom is the best place to find what you are looking for. It's packed full of everything you would need for your home maintenance or improvement projects. It's got a real neighborhood feel.

Neighborhood hardware stores are quickly becoming a rarity these days with the increasing presence of overwhelming "big-box" home improvement centers everywhere. Fortunately, we still have local alternatives like Mayer Hardware for help with those things that the big box stores simply can't help you with, like hard-to-find hardware items and good old-fashioned customer service. I needed help recently with locating half-pints of paint for a home project, and the ONLY place I could find what I needed was at Mayer Hardware. The man in their paint department was very knowledgeable in selecting the paint I needed, and offered some helpful suggestions for properly preparing the surfaces for painting. Even after buying the paint, and then browsing through the rest of the store, several of the store associates stopped to ask me if I needed any help with finding something else. I couldn't have gotten all of that assistance from any of the big-box stores because the associates at those big stores simply don't have the time or the working knowledge to really help you. And that's IF you can find an associate to help you at a big-box store. While this store is more compact than the giant home center stores, one benefit of that is you won't need GPS to navigate your way around. And, believe it or not, the most surprising thing I found here were a large number of funny greeting cards. Actually, a far better selection of really funny cards here than most other stores selling greeting cards. Greeting cards. At a hardware store. Who knew? I spent at least an hour or so browsing in Mayer Hardware. They carry a lot of hard-to-find hardware items here that you won't find at a big-box home improvement center. I suspect that, if you can't find a hardware item here, you may not find it anywhere else. Highly recommend a visit here. Thanks for reading. (01/04/24)

Personally, I love to BBQ and even though I live in Farmington, 25 minutes from them, I'm more than happy to drive there to get everything I need for outdoor cookin. Everyone that works here is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. You owe it too yourself to bypass the big box store, and check this store out.

We have been customers for many years now and ALWAYS have a positive experience at MAYER!.Their staff is plentiful, knowledgeable and always around to point you in the right direction. I was hooked like 20 some years ago or more when they had a "Paint Lady" who was like a color expert and coould nail a color match like no other human EVER! Over the years, I've been in for random supplies and really enjoy supporting local businesses whenever I can! #customerforlife

Absolutely the best service. If you have only gone to the big national stores you have no idea what you are missing. I walked in asked for some obscure tools and a minute later they and any accessories I might need were on the counter. I don’t think I paid more than if I ordered online or went to a big chain. I highly recommend this store for professionals like me and for the average homeowner who might not even know they should have an accessory for their project.

Wow! I only walked through the paint department on my way in and out of the store, and it looked pretty good. But when I got to the hardware part of the store, DOUBLE WOW! This is truly a hardware store. It's pretty much, you need it, they have it, or they can probably get it for you if they don't have it! I was very impressed with their inventory and the selection of merchandise. This was my first visit, and although there are big box "hardware" stores really close to me, I'll be coming here from now on. One of their associates, Craig, helped with some questions that I had, and took the time to explain some pros and cons to me. Between the woman at the counter helping with my special order, (I'm sorry, I don't know her name), and Craig, and just all of the hellos from the staff, this place is awesome! I can't wait to shop here again, and you should go there also. P. S. They also have a rewards program! (You got to love that) Give them a try!

I received excellent service from my very first call with Jake in conjunction with Tom’s research efforts and kindness. There’s a sign on the door that tells patrons they are allowed to bring concealed firearms into the store! Why on earth do people need weapons at a hardware store?! This makes me feel the opposite of safe, knowing that any old nutso is packing a loaded weapon. NO THANK YOU.

I am somewhat handy but didn't know exactly what I needed to fix the paint that came off with a command strip on my bathroom wall. Thankfully, the helpful guys at Mayer paint helped me get spackling compound and a perfect paint match which made my bathroom look perfect 👌🏼 Thank you!!

The place is a maze, which is actually kind of fun if you're like me and enjoy browsing, if not don't worry, one of the employees will be very quick to ask you if you need any help and will point you in the right direction.I came in looking for a nut that I had accidentally broken off of a toilet while installing a bidet, I thought I knew what I needed and confirmed it was in store online (only $4.50, sweet!)...wrong part (I'm not good with this stuff). 2 different employees tried to help me based off of my description, but I didn't think to bring the broken nut or even a photo with me. After looking and not finding, eventually I was able to Google what I was looking for and showed an employee who, like myself, came to the conclusion that it was a niche part and I might have to buy a fill valve kit to find it. Looked at the kits, only $10-20, still a pretty cheap fix. Before letting me walk off with an unnecessary kit, the employee checks on his phone to see if the part might be available under a different name, it was. Took him 5 seconds of digging through one of those small parts cabinets to find exactly what I've been looking for, he even confirms it fits and I'm off with my new part, which was only $1.50 after tax. Toilets all fixed.TL/DRBroke my toilet because I'm an idiot. Thought I found replacement part online for $5, but it was the wrong part because I'm an idiot. Thought I was gonna have to spend ~$15 for a kit, but turns out, I'm an idiot, and an employee found what I needed for $1.50. They didn't even treat me like an idiot, which was cool because, well, I'm an idiot...5 stars.

I had gone to Home Depot to get paint and did not have a good experience there. I went to Mayer Hardware and two associates helped me with my purchase. They gave me everything I needed and I went home to paint my bathroom. It looks fantastic! Benjamin Moore paint is the best! Sherwin Williams didn’t help me either. From now on I’m shopping at Mayer. Much better than the big box stores. Thanks again for great service!

I am not handy and don't look forward to going to hardware stores - especially the big ones where I am often ignored, patronized, or spoken rudely to by new (high turnover) staff who don't have a clue and would clearly rather be *anyplace* else. The people at Meyer seem to like their work! They have always been available, helpful, knowledgeable and seem to enjoy sharing their expertise. I always learn something useful and leave in a better mood than I came in. Christopher in Paints is outstanding, but all that I've run across are great. I'm so glad they're near by. They have a huge inventory - never had to go elsewhere once I found this place.

Always very helpful and friendly service. Happy to help those of us who dont know much about tools and such to get what is needed, and not oversell. One time an employee even made suggestions where I would be better off shopping, explaining they could get the item i needed or come up with something that would work, but because it wasn’t in their regular stock, I would get a much better price elsewhere.Also appreciate the popcorn and coffee for customers. And when I lived in that neighborhood, they put out a wonderful snack and dessert buffet for the annual holiday neighborhood stroll to meet the residents who came in during the open house. Just a wonderful, locally owned business that really serves their customers!

I have always had good service from Mayer, they go out of their way to be helpful. Recently, while pumping gas across the street from Mayer Hardware, I locked my keys/phone in my car. Mayer Hardware was most helpful and allowed me to use their phone. Thank you so much!
