Cashier Sheryl’s rudeness has resulted in a one star for BJ’s. Come to think of it, all BJ’s cashiers seem to be sort of rude. Sheryl, who was one of the cashiers today 5/4/24, gets the grand prize for being the rudest. Hey BJ’s employees, you get paid because we come buy stuff from the stores that employ you. Your behavior should be the opposite of rude. Never going back!

Today I went to bjs with a HUGE HUGE bag of plastic bottles to recycle and the bins were full. I had the luck of meeting Evander Herrera. He went out of his way to help me. Over the load speaker he called the designated person to come and empty the bins but they were to no avail so Evander went out of his way and made sure I was taken care of. Any other employee would just tell me it’s out of service but Evander went out of his way to help me. He deserves a raise!

I’m split down the middle on this one.. It’s always an ordeal shopping here.. The crowded parking lot, the long lines at check out and exit, and the typically unhelpful staff (and customers if I’m being honest) make for a generally unpleasant experience.. That being said, if the membership fees are doable for you there are still some deals to be found here.. My mother has been a member for at least a decade now and she swears by the bargains at BJ’s.. They have started to offer “healthy” food and produce options here, and although many products are labeled “organic” I am personally a little skeptical about their quality.. I don’t want to throw them under the bus, and I know that many people rely on BJ’s for savings and a consistent supply, but I’m not a huge fan..

Long story short, they have horrible customer service. Not to mention, they have employees smoking cigarettes at the gas station. It just so happened to be when the fuel truck was there. Smh. I will not be renewing my membership, Costco just gained a new member.

This evening I called to see if this location had the weider adjustable dumbells in stock as they were said to be online. Woman said they had 5 listed, but was going to check. I was then left on hold for an hour. (See Pic) Then another girl answered thinking it was a new call. I asked again about the item... I could then hear the original woman tell her that she should tell me "they looked but couldn't find any in the store." Guess the original rep didn't want to talk to me directly after forgetting about me on hold.How does a store misallocate 500 lbs of dumbells worth $1000? That level of service, I suppose. Don't bother with this store.

Nice people work there but items are out of stock more than in. I don't get it; I drive 20 miles to shop there to get advertised coupon sales and "not in stock". This happens more and more. So much out of stock, maybe switch to Costco.

I really like this location because they have excellent meat selection. I bought a boneless prime rib for the holidays, I’ve bought frenched lamb chops, skirt steak, and New York strip steak. Also, they have a ton of different vegetarian snack options that I haven’t found in other Bj’s here on Long Island. The customer service is very nice and helpful. I love buying the big box of yogurts for my kids. I highly recommend this BJ’s!

I had just gotten back last week, after a few months upstate. Stopped by to get some groceries. I was walking down an aisle until someone operating a ride on floor cleaner drove right behind me, forcing me to move out his way. I moved to the other side of the aisle and he came back around and waited for me to move out of his way again. Cleaning should be done before you open or after hours not when there's customers shopping around. Waited probably 20 mins outside the meat department, apparently everyone went on break at the same time. This place is very poorly managed.

Beware! Bjs enrolls you in automatic renewals without telling you. I did not realize this and thought my membership had expired. When I went to renew in club, the girl at customer service never let me know that I did not need to renew because my membership was still active. Instead she created a whole new membership for me with new card and number and signed me up for auto renewal. When I asked her she told me to call 1-800 number to cancel. Well I tried that and decided to hang up after being on hold for over an hour. Tried to call club to talk to someone at customer service and mailbox is full. Turns out she never canceled my first membership so now I have 2 memberships set for auto renewal at different times. When I asked for my old card back with my picture on it she said sorry I can’t give it back we are required to shred it. Luckily I have the bjs app with my old membership number. Now I have to try to go back to club to fix this since I can’t get anyone on the phone. I got scammed!!! Go to Costco!!!

They do not honor their warranty. They refused to take back a car battery that failed, telling me it has a 90 day return, printed right on the battery it states 30 MONTH free replacement. Will Not renew my membership.

I left BJs for a Costco membership. The business model is the same but on a smaller scale. I don't do memberships anymore because they are costly. Who needs to pay membership fees when there are an abundance of grocery stores that offer better prices!!!

When I shop in any store, I'm there to shop for items I want. So when I get harassed by wandering sales people (that don't back off after the first NO), this gets rather annoying. So if you hear someone screaming to be left alone, It probably will me trying to convince a Power window sales person that I don't anymore windows because I hate the ones I have. Also they stopped selling Lifeway Kefir. Bring that back and I'll be nice to the roving junk pushers.

My peeve is with the 'coupon' book. It would be more informative to simply show the sale price of the item rather than '$1.00 off' etc. That said, their bakery and deli is great.

You can get more bang for your buck. Large quantities so you don't run out too soon. I've been using the bjs in Islandia most the time, that's the best one. But I'm further east now so I use the Riverhead location. The staff has been helpful
