I really love this store. I live in Darien, CT and will go out of my way if I'm anywhere in the vicinity. The people are great, very nice, and knowledgeable. You don't have to wait forever to talk to someone, and they have a great selection considering the size of the store compared to the big box stores. Most importantly, my dog loves it there, so how can I say no to that.

For a mid sized hardware store they have an amazing selection. Personnel very knowledgeable and attentive. I baught a chainsaw for my son in law and they spent a lot of time with him instructing in it's use and care and a very good safety briefing. Very personal and helpful where the big box stores only tell you the instructions are in the box, if that. They may not be able to always meet the big box store's prices but they usually make up the difference in other ways.

Great place. Whether you need advice or paint or sundry items or tools they're have it all and are very, very helpful! Joe and Stephanie (the owners) are there to help everyday. They get our highest recommendation!

Chubby's is the best, by far (and, one of the last remaining mom and pop hardware stores around!) Their (sometimes) slightly higher than big box store prices are well worth the friendly customer service, expert advice and well-stocked convenience. And, they sell low-priced Chubby's t-shirts and hats! They are a big hit with my city-folk artist friends.

Small family owned and operated hardware store. it is ACE hardware now. I shoped there from 1996 when it was Chubby's hardware and I don't have any complaints.
