I have been a customer of Williams for 17 years. I told my mom to get a quote from the kitchen & bath department for a cabinet. The man there to help is quite frankly terrible. He actually made comments about everything my mom liked (Granite isn’t in style he said. No one orders glazed doors anymore! etc.). He told my mom that her taste was like his mother’s; old fashioned. This coming from a guy clearly in his 70’s. He was lazy about showing options, told us they don’t really do tile etc. I really miss the lady who used to run this department.

They carry good products and are friendly helpful people. However their services are problematic. We tried but they could not help with a remodel, didn’t understand our need for a specific vanity design, thought the plumber had made “a mistake” in sink placement. And the contractor who they recommended for the job never returned our messages after his initial visit AND instructing us on what materials to purchase from Williams. So we have materials, no contractor, no design and have to start again!

Williams Lumber Rhinebeck is one of the most friendliest and customer supporting hardware stores I visited. Employees are always willing to help out and are willing to go the extra distance to give you information and provide you with what you need. Although the prices are a little bit more expensive than the big box stores that are in Poughkeepsie and in kingston, the convenience and the customer service cannot be beat. Highly recommend. I keep returning.

Waited in the paint department for 20 minutes waiting for someone to help me. Many employees walked in and out but no one offered to help. I finally left the paint department and asked for help I was told someone would be right with me. After waiting some more I eventually walked out of the store with out any paint.

Horrible shady business. Their so called professional reps messed up the measurements sent me the wrong windows oh also they forget to send one of the windows and now I have to pay for another one. 40k down the drain stay away from this corrupt lying so called business zero stars!!!

You have to appreciate the local hardware store. Are prices going to be a bit higher? Yes, but the service and quality you receive are much better than the cookie-cutter large home improvement stores.

Bought pressure treated lumber at lumber desk, then took lumber yard copy to bld 6 as I’ve done for over 40 years. Had to look for a person to help, expecting they’d walk up the hill to area where lumber would be. Had to help myself because nobody came. There were absolutely no 1x4 treated lumber of any length. Not the customer service you expect. This was on a Saturday morning .

Asked for help in paint department but nobody showed up after 20 minutes of waiting. Then went to plumbing department again nobody there to help customers. Could have gotten better service at lowes or home depot. So much supporting local business.

It has some good things but I am never going to buy a appliance again. We bought a microwave and it has been the absolute worst it turns off after 10 minutes and continues to do it . If I could afford a new one I would0 get one. Horrible brand perfect aire yuck.

I am from the area and my experiences at this store in recent years have been increasingly more unfriendly customer service, specifically the cashiers who have been getting more unfriendly in recent years. They rarely greet customers who approach their checkout let alone look and act friendly or even happy during the checkout experience. You have a job where your main responsibility is customer service, if you don't like people then it is not the job for you. I blame the owner and management for the this. If I owned a business that was retail, I would make sure my employees were properly trained and keep them happy. It shows the bad work environment when employees are rude to customers.My latest experience was was with the heavy set girl cashier. She was rude and lied to me.I will never go to this store again bc of its unfriendly service, high prices and it is an Ace Hardware store so not getting the locally owned thing fully.

There are plenty of sales help around who are knowledgeable and pleasant. Enough cashiers so you don't have to wait more than an expected time. I feel like the Williams company really cares about their customers experience. They always have what I am looking for. Sales floor neat and tidy.

Been shopping here for 20 years. Dont know what happened? But employees very obnoxious and have no patience. With lumber and plumbing dept the worst! Oh well! Back to driving to poughkeepsie home depot!😪

Only one star because I can’t give zero! You would think someone working at a lumber counter would know the difference between primed and unprimed. Terrible customer service! Called from home before driving 30 minutes to Williams for 12ft primed pine. The price they gave me over the phone was $22/ea. This seemed amazing so my husband called to double check.We drove all the way out here with a truck and trailer with gas at $5 a gallon! The 12ft lengths are $40/ea! They remembered and knew we called. No apologies, no offers to make it right. He just said he looked at the wrong tag.This man at the lumber counter needs more training or to retire. Now I’m going back to Home Depot and will not be returning.

Things I don't like about Williams: mainly the outdoor lumberyard. It's a multi-step hassle: you essentially have to check out 3 times. And the return process is just as much of a hassle.Things that I do like about Williams: plenty of staff that is always around and very helpful.In general, Williams is a good place to go in a pinch for local hardware needs, though their selection is limited by their size and you might find yourself needing to Jerry-rig multiple items, where a single solution exists at a place like Lowe's, which is less than 15 minutes away.

They literally have everything you need from a "Hardware" store! Huge selection of everything plus gifts for the season. Staff is everywhere and they always ask if you need help. Lumber desk is well staffed and they know their business! Separate Carhardt dept. too. Outside yard has helpful staff and great selection.

I love having this place in town, but the prices are significantly more than the big box stores. So it's good for a quick pick up, but if you need to spend real money you're not going to get the best deal. Some local contractors say you get better quality items than at the big box stores. I don't know whether that is fact or myth The people working there are very nice though, and the space itself is very nice. It is an Ace Hardware store at the end of the day, so the mom and pop street cred only goes so far. The exception is there spectacular train / holiday display. That is unique and wonderful and warrants praise.

Went in with a special problem (fitting a pig waterer to a large 275 gallon tote). The plumbing department was able to find and put together for me all the parts for a great working system. They are super helpful and it's always a pleasure going there.

Prices could stand to be better. But. The quality of people they employ on the floor is out of this world. I'll be looking for an item and randomly talk to someone who has spent 15, 20 years doing large industrial projects involving things like what I'm trying to accomplish. Absolutely outlandish how that sort of experience seems to repeat itself there.Make sure you stop in at Christmas time, they always have an incredible train display.

As a truck driver, this place goes pretty fast and well structured.Use the entrance and follow trucks line up.The young guy as a guard is probably not the right guy. Way too low energy and unhappy.Someone more welcoming is needed.Otherwise staff was friendly.Was out in an hour.No parking.But multiple opportunities along US 9 AND 9G

My boss bought out a bunch of the wheel globe xmas lights. The woman at the register checked if they had more, n looked up were else the local Ace's had more and how many they had in stock.Very appreciative. Great service
