Mountainside K9 has been such a blessing for me and my dogs. I first reached out when my young male Rottweiler was showing signs of resource guarding. Michaela was able to guide me on how to handle this issue safely and prevent my dog from getting any worse. After just a few weeks my dog had improved a lot, he is currently doing very well. Mountainside K9 and Michaela have helped me to have a better relationship with my dog. She is extremely helpful with problems that have come up with Nyx. Currently our crate anxiety is getting so much better and we are looking forward to our next appointment. The private lessons offer great 1:1 time to go over issues and what to work on next. It gives us the ability to watch Michaela and understand what the next thing to work on is and to do it with Nyx and see if we are doing it right. She gives great feedback and is great to work with. I highly recommend.

When we got Knox, he was very shy and would always pull on walks. After just a few classes, Knox was starting to become a whole new dog. I would recommend Mountainside K9 to everyone. The training has allowed us to bring Knox to many places that we wouldn’t dare bring home before. We can now walk around town without a leash and don’t have to worry about him running away. If you need some extra help, the basic class alone does wonders.

Mountainside K9 made the challenging puppy phase manageable. We had not had a dog in years, and with Michaela’s instructions and tips we were able to navigate the challenges of a new puppy much easier. We started with in house lessons at 10 weeks, and then group classes at 6 months. We have been able to walk off leash with proper recall since 6 months old, get rid of the crate at 8 months, and now we have our “old man dog” at a year and a half. Thank you Mountainside K9!

I went to Michaela for some assistance in polishing Reese's obedience skills for competition, and in between contacting her initially and my lesson Reese developed a sudden aggression issue. When I reached out about changing the lesson topic, Michaela was super flexible! We ended up brainstorming ideas and still managed to go over some obedience stuff, which ended up serving me well at a trial! She is a balanced trainer and knows her tools well, and she works great no matter what your current level of experience is with handling dogs. She was a lot of help in expanding my ability to use the ecollar effectively, and it's ended up being such a valuable communication tool now between my dogs and I (attached photos of them below practicing stays in a store!)

Michaela has been so responsive, patient, helpful and kind. I can't wait to see the finished results with my dog, our first meeting went extremely well. Her facility is impressive and she is so understanding and helpful. I feel so reassured leaving my pooch, I know he's in great, qualified hands. I will update when his training is over. Thank you so much for all your help!Update: My pup had an allergic reaction to his flea medication while he was with Mk9, they rushed him to the vet and saved his life. I'm so glad he was with someone responsible and knowledgeable when the worst happened. 3 months later, he is so obedient, calm and eager to please. She came to our home and even worked with him in the snow. He was one stubborn dog, now he's a calm and well behaved companion.

I can not say enough about the help I received with my English Mastiff. At 2 years old, we were able to “teach an old dog new tricks” that allow my children to walk him and maintain control with an animal 3x their size. Incredible place, awesome and very knowledgeable owner/trainer.

Michaela is amazing at what she does. My dog is aggressive and did not listen at all. She was willing to come to my home and work with us knowing his past. She educated us and helped us work through some of my dogs issues. Without her, my dog would still be running our house hold. He still has more work to do, but that is going to be where I have to continually work with him. I can now take him on walks with more ease, I can have him go to place and not worry about him stealing food from our children while we eat, he will stay in place u till he is told to break. I can get a muzzle on his without him trying to bite me. I can’t thank her enough!

I inquired about training with them and after finding out the price was higher then I could afford. They replied to my email shaming me for not wanting to pay their $80.00 an hour price. Saying that if a trainer charges less then their bad trainers. Just because I can’t afford the fancy price doesn’t mean I’m going to settle for a bad trainer! There are PLENTY of trainers who charge less and give amazing quality!! In the end it’s not the trainer that counts but YOU that puts in the work with your dog. SHAME ON YOU MOUNTAINSIDE
