Unfortunately the Hannaford in Red Hook has gone downhill significantly this year and is nothing like what it used to be. I can definitely say this is the worst managed Hannaford in the Hudson Valley, and I’ve been to all of them. This location has major ongoing issues with food freshness and store cleanliness. Every visit the store gets worse. As far as freshness goes, there are many expired items on the shelves. In the condiment aisle, numerous mayonnaise, dips, and other condiments are expired. Some are expired by months, I saw dates from July, June, April, and January. One had a date of June 2022, over a year expired!!! In the cheese case, there are expired cheeses, some are 2 months expired. Expired snack cakes in the bread aisle. On a previous visit, I saw expired protein bars and yogurt. I saw 2 packages of rotten meat on the shelves in the meat dept. The produce dept is horrible now. I’ve found numerous moldy berries on multiple occasions. On one trip, I saw at least 10-12 packages of moldy blackberries in the front display. The front display is swarming with fruit flies, this has been going on for months. All the grapes are usually going bad or are bad with multiple rotten grapes in the packages. You have to check everything here. Nothing seems to be checked or rotated.In terms of cleanliness, the store is filthy. The entrance is often messy where the carts are kept. The berry in produce is dirty with spilled food and needs cleaning. The cheese case is filthy with dirt and grime all along the bottom. The meat case is dirty on the bottom where the ground beef is. The center meat cases are filthy. The glass doors on those cases are disgusting with visible dirt stains, marks and grime. The freezers are often leaking. No one seems to be cleaning anything in this store except for the bathrooms. The bathrooms are clean, but everything else seems dirty. Lastly, the management is absent. Usually there is only 1 or 2 cashiers and there are often long lines. Recently, there was 1 register open on a weekday evening around 5pm with a long line. An assistant manager and several employees were chatting and laughing at the service desk, oblivious to the long line. They eventually walked away and ignored the long line and didn’t open other registers. This store lately pales in comparison to other Hannaford stores. Hannaford stores are usually clean and well kept, this one is dirty in many areas. Hannaford stores usually have fresh food, but this one has many expired items in multiple departments and rotten produce. Hannaford stores are usually well managed, but this store is poorly run with absent management. Go to the Hannaford stores across the river and most of those ones (especially Ulster Ave Kingston, Walden, Pine Bush, Middletown, New Windsor, Modena) are all well managed and clean. Even the small, more limited stores in Livingston of West Hurley are better. The one up in Cairo is always much busier than Red Hook, yet it’s better run. The one in Wappingers Falls has had issues in the past, but it’s doing well now, again much better than Red Hook. The Hannaford in Red Hook needs new management. There needs to be major changes at this location because it’s bevcome horrible this year. Someone is going to get sick from bad food if nothing changes. The store needs a thorough cleaning, staff need to go through the shelves and throw out all the spoiled and expired foods, and the store management needs training. If nothing changes, then management needs to change. I hate writing bad reviews like this as I know every store has issues, but this goes beyond that as these issues are major and nothing has improved.

Just stopped in after a long stay at NDH, and this did the trick to lift my spirits. Cherry dipped twist always does the trick for me and took home a few small parfaits. The staff are great and super friendly great to see the regulars there too. Was a great day to sit outside too.

I found what I was looking for except they do not carry goat's milk yogurt products. That being said I was able to get my necessaries and was met with a great cashier as I was leaving my aisle. He Came Upon me as I was waiting for the next cashier to get finished with the person in front of me. Service is great and what a great store. Recommended for everyone.

The store is filthy. The products are expired. Some of the cashiers act like you should feel privileged that they decided you are worthy of their attention. It's so sad what companies are letting employees get away with. We went from "The customer is always right" to "The customer is always unimportant". Also, I'm a 51 year old man. I really don't appreciate being called "honey" or "sweetheart" by a 16 year old cashier. There is no pride in these employees. They all seem like they just want to go home. Just another business that will be out of business in 5 years.

This review is for the Livingston NY Hannaford. Upon walking in, immediately noticed that the produce department was not looking all that good. Besides many missing or worn looking veggies, the bins looked unkempt. Have been going to the Red Hook store mostly and it's much better managed. I hope management notices and whips this department into shape. I occasionally prefer this location so I hope to revisit soon and have a better shopping experience.

Good place if you going in for a few items. I live a few minutes away and love going in for late night snacks. There prices are kinda high for the area. But there close to me and open till 11pm as of today.

Came to purchase the grocery for the weekend getaway! Plenty fresh vegetables remaining when I arrived one hour before it closed. Friendly staff at the fish counter helped a lot! Great local supermarket! Definitely the top choice if self-visiting the upper state New York!

WOW!!! This store has gone way downhill. Where is the management? I’ve never seen such a messy, filthy, poorly managed Hannaford like this before. Entrance is a mess, litter everywhere where the carts are kept. The front produce display is a unsanitary mess. It is completely covered in huge swarms of fruit flies. I picked up a bag of grapes and a massive cloud of fruit flies flew up. All the blackberries is the front display are covered in massive amounts of mold, they look like they’ve been on the shelves for weeks. Other moldy food in the produce dept as well. Numerous meats are visibly rotting and are gray and brown on the shelves. The shelves throughout the store are a mess with expired food, some items are months expired. Meat cases are revoltingly filthy with spills of dried up meat juices and chicken juice on the shelves throughout. The doors on the center meat cases are so filthy with grime and fingerprints, you can’t even see through the glass to what’s in the freezers. Cheese case is dirty. Leaking freezers. Shelves are a mess. The hot food was dried out. Carts piled up in the parking lot. Only 2 registers open, long lines. Store is understaffed, some employees are overworked, while others stand around. Extremely poorly managed. Managers nowhere to be seen. This has been every visit to this store in the last 6 months. Each time it gets worse and worse. This store has clear health code violations and yet nothing is fixed. This store needs new management ASAP!!!

Clean, great selection, amazing staff. Recently, however, I’ve gotten home a few times and found that something I have bought prepackaged from the produce section has been well out of date and occasionally mouldy. They just need to get better and stock rotation in that section.

I love that Hannaford shopping center is one of the few places in the US that has the magic dock Tesla EV chargers. My GM EV has a CCS/SAE plug which does work at Hannaford. Hannaford is a fun place to shop for groceries as well.

This particular Hannaford is always well stocked with your major brands as well as carrying local Hudson valley products. This Hannaford has a Pharmacy within it's building...Operating hours are very good and definitely easy to get to, right off of Route 9.Nov. 2023 update:Open on Thanksgiving morning. Good service and lots of fresh produce and bakery items to choose from.

In the days of restocking issues and understaffing, Red Hook Hanniford has done an admiral job keeping customers happy! The staff is friendly,and helpful the store is super clean. It offers outside pickup and home door deliveryAt low rates for those immune compromised customers. I have never had an issue with either ( chemo treatment, 79 yrs old) also if you shop at early am hrs, no lines at all at checkouts. Prices are reasonable, and is you get weekly sales info, you can even save some cash. Bakery, butcher depts are excellent. Only drawback, certain peak times can somewhat crowded, but I avoid them. Overall 5 stars!

Store itself is usually very clean but I've run in to way too many rude staff members. An example I was in an aisle looking for a particular product having trouble finding it. An employee on the aisle rudely asked me what I was looking for so I told her she says we don't have anymore & it isn't really her problem either. I responded I never said it was. Immediately left & went to Tops. It's very sad because I used to do all my shopping in Hannaford now I go elsewhere & only use this store on occasion because the vibe here is very unwelcoming & not the same as it used to be. Very sad!

I don’t know if this store is simply unaware of the racist Karen monitoring self-checkout or if they simply condone it but I would not recommend. While 3 other (white) people checked out, this lady stood there watching me like a hawk. She then proceed to yell at the top of her lungs you didn’t ring those as I go to put 2 mangoes in my shopping bag. After I just finished adding them. For the record you don’t scan mangoes. You either type the scu number, or type it in and select the amount you have. Which I did. Which she WATCHED do. But still proceeded to do that. Then had the nerve get disrespectful with me when I show her and ask what is she talking about. Those other people could’ve stolen god knows what and she would t know because she only had eyes for the black girl. And when I failed to fulfill her racist fantasies, she of course had to conjure something up. Be ashamed Karen, be very very ashamed.

Great store. Friendly and helpful staff. Wish this store was closer to me. Our local supermarket caters to weekenders and is so much more expensive than this Hannaford. Very fresh produce and meat and lots of organic food.

Clean, well marked aisles, prices consistently marked on items, exceptionally courteous staff. Perhaps not the widest organic selection. I am grateful that the parking lot is clean and well lit and in good condition. I feel safe even when I realize I need something in the evening and must head out to fetch it at night.

Good prices when the inventory is available, unfortunately the inventory is barely there. Deli is a mess. The workers in the deli are very positive and have great customer service, however it seems they needore training on how to slice and package the products.

Thought it was a very nice store, very cool items, veggies seemed very fresh, meats looked very good. Other interesting items in deli area, lobster Mac and cheese and bread pudding. From Texas don't have these there. I will be back, while I'm here for the next few weeks. Cashier was very pleasant as well.
