Site 100- tent camping. The best campsite as far as size and water access I have ever had. There is a path down to a small sandy beach. Beautiful sunsets. The campground is basic- and from this site- it’s a bike ride, car ride, or long walk to the shower house. There is no place to do dishes - bring your own bin and heat your hot water- scrape all food scraps into the garbage.Bathrooms are close enough- but very outdated. Just a trickle of water in the women’s side. We brought our own water container for washing and brushing teeth. The staff isn’t overly energetic- but they are all kind and helpful. You can purchase ice and firewood on site. This campground is dog friendly.

Been going with my kiddos for the past two years, about to make it a third this coming August. I have been here in the past as well. This is where my heart lives. Everything from the beach to the campgrounds itself is peaceful. On good warm days the beach is fantastic, you can wade out up to your shoulder in the sandy bottomed, beautiful Raquette Lake. Staff is short handed, but still kind and friendly. Two years ago, even with a staff shortage my son broke his chain on his bicycle and a young man from the staff came and fixed it!The kids say “i’d give 10/10 stars.” and “everyone was nice and so was the beach”Bathrooms and shower houses are clean and cleaned daily. Most times you will see staff doing quick checks and clean up if needed. Staff is responsive to any kind or concern or issues that arise. All around love this place in the heart of the Adirondacks.

We love the ADK. We packed a picnic lunch head north for the day. Hung out at the beach it was so nice . The view was amazing glad I brought a light sweater. A little chilly in the air. It was a perfect day. The campground was packed. Bathrooms not close by the beach.Noteworthy details: Bathrooms weren't close to beach area

Maybe add to the map that site 91 is basically the parking lot for the restrooms. When the check in staff comments 'that would not have been my first choice' that's a pretty good indication of what you’re getting. Between the door slamming, people cutting through our site and the flushing toilet... I'd say that was just about my worst camping experience.

Great place for camping. There is easy access to the beach where swimming is allowed, however there was no lifeguard. The site we got had decent amounts of space, and there was a water tap right across the street. Bathrooms are located across the campground. There are also many trees, making for some scenic views. The campground is also only about a 10 minute drive from a town called Inlet, where there was lots of activities. Overall, I very much enjoyed this campground.

Amazing place to go camping with the family, especially during the 4th of July! Can fill up quickly so make sure to plan ahead and book in advance if possible. The staff was very helpful, informative, and accommodating. Bathrooms and showers are kept clean and you don’t have to wait for the water to heat up. The beach is within walking distance although there’s a parking lot if you prefer to drive. There’s grills, picnic tables, and tons of room for the little ones to run around.

Absolutely breathtaking. Clean grounds, friendly staff. Very laid back, amazing view, plenty of places to set up. I will definitely be coming back here! My dogs had a blast, and the separate camping grounds were at a fair enough distance that tethering worked just great. The fire pits/grill areas they provided for each site were more than efficient. The camp bathrooms were swarming with bugs, which is to be expected. Pack. Your. Bug. Spray. So. Many. Bugs.

My boyfriend and I went to the area for a day trip away from all the hussle and bussle of our busy lives. We packed a picnic and were looking for a place to sit down and relax. We stumbled upon this place, we asked the front gate attendant how much it would cost for us to drive through. The attendant asked how long we would be or what we were doing, after telling him we'd only probably be an hour at most to have a picnic he very kindly told us to head on in for free and enjoy our picnic, and showed us a perfect little spot for it! He was Very nice and very generous. The place was perfect and all around the campground looked very beautiful, clean, well taken care of. The people on the campground were also kind. Telling us to enjoy the day, how were doing! If we had a camper i would definitely come back and stay awhile! Had a lot to offer, great small beach & water to enjoy.

Great beach spot! Water was clear and warm. The higher numbered campsites are nice and spread out, but are very far away from bathrooms/showers. There are outhouses. Bring the bug spray! The bugs weren't bad at all but we were bug sprayed up the whole time.

We were told site 186 was for 20ft campers. We have a 19ft camper and there was no way to turn it around and leave. We had to back it all the way to Rte 28. Great place for a tent but not a RV. Look liked no one cleaned the site after the last campers left. There was so much ash in the fire pit. The outhouse door would not shut. Not sure if we would go back....maybe a different site they was easier to access

Beautiful location in the Adirondacks 25 minutes NE of old forge, on raquette lake. The showers are clean and hot with lots of water pressure. The sites are minimal in size and have no hook ups. It's basic camping. The boat launch is small but very nice. Lots of trees and the natural sand beach is wonderful. I truly enjoyed my weekend there. Watch out for those bears!

The beach gets super busy on a nice day and motorboats will pull right up onto the beach a foot away from where you're setup. It was quiet at night which was nice, seems like a family oriented place.Drive slow or I will yell at you, there's no reason to go ripping down a road in your pickup truck where kids are playing and riding their bikes. You're 1.5hr away from the nearest hospital, so try to plan on not needing medical assistance... Found that out the hard way.

This campground is fabulous, we've been to many in the ADK's and keep coming back to this one every year for at least 25 years now. The higher mountains are more North, but there are beautiful sunsets over Raquette Lake.
Our favorite site is 100....(IF we're lucky enough to get it online NINE months in advance). BUT...it's NOT level, and it's NOT a camper site. Also a very long walk to the bathroom. It's the largest one and very private though (besides other campers walking through OUR campsite to get to our beach. That's what the public beach is for people!).
I suggest not booking the campsites on the water (sites 99, 100, 101, 103) if you want a LEVEL site.My only complaint would have to be the long wait for the showers - usually at dinner time. And there was one shower out of commission this past July, leaving only THREE showers for ALL those campers!
And all you people complaining there's NO playground?? Make the beach and the woods and the beautiful outdoors your kids playground! That's why you came camping! Our kids LOVED playing in the sand, swimming and feeding the chipmunks, etc.!
The BEST part of this area?? There's NO CELL service! It's awesome. True family bonding. We WILL return every year!

Very nice campground, the beach was super beautiful and relaxing. The camps themselves look heavily used and very populated. The employees were super nice and helpful. Very regular campground with a nice beech.

I really loved it here. We got one of the campsites out of the main campground and it could not have been better. We were able to get down to the water to do some canoeing and fishing. There was so much to do here

Been going here since I was a baby every summer for the last 32 years. My siblings and I now bring our kids. Every one there is really great. Beautiful beach and view at the lake. Can drive the boat across to dock at the store. Allot to see and adventure too.

Beautiful campsite in the heart of the Adirondack mountains. The sites around the entrance are very close together, and the ones by the lake also. Stayed at site 135. A nice site, but it looks like it is meant for a family camping together. Adjoining site is right on top of you. Luckily it was unoccupied for our stay. Best site are the ones outside the campground they are right next to the lake and you have privacy. Dump station at the entrance, and water spigot around the campground. If you have a diesel truck, Old Forge has diesel fuel.

I dont know what the campground is like but the beach is one of the nicest beaches in seven shallow warm water extremely clean fine sand much like the Bahamas. fires on the beach seem to be permitted. If your visiting by boat I prefer the left side where I beach the pontoon boat the water is about a foot deep 30 feet from shore

We enjoyed the campground however the customer service was poor. We didn't realize that black garbage bags weren't allowed and when I went to dispose trash the worker swore at me with the f bomb! Really put a damper on our trip. Maybe the type of bag needed should be one of the items discussed when people are checking into the campground not after they have already created garbage.

Nice campground with a beach attached. The beach is lovely. No playground that I could find for the kids. The showers are hot but limited. Some campsites are a good distance apart from each other and others are like you are in the city. Some are right on the water. Every campsite has a picnic table and a fire area. Water is available as are bathrooms it just requires a little bit of walking. Would return.

Been camping here for 66 years and counting. A little understaffed due to not being able get people to work. No lifeguard this year. They absolutely do the best they can with staff that they got.

Such an enjoyable experience at site 186. We were happy to be in this more remote part of the property away from the main campgrounds. A true camping experience!

Beautiful, well kept grounds, with gorgeous views of the lake and surrounding mountainside. Easy access to a nearby waterfall which made for a perfect daytime hike with small children. No visible poisonous plants near campgrounds (202-205). Lovely beach access on every site near the water. Will recommend highly!

Some sites are great, secluded and large. But the first set of sites are compact and crowded. Nice beach on beautiful Raquette Lake. The sunsets are worth watching from the beach. Bears are in abundance. There was one in our sure ones night eating food that a irresponsible camper next door left out. So follow the rules.

Absolutely great place to camp. Just know campsites 185 through 208 are not in park. We were at site 204 loved the site. I would recommend this site or 205 and 206 if you like being right next to water. Road in is quite bumpy and little rough for a car, truck would be no worries. Will return many times.
