Going into the holiday weekend and of course I ended up with a sick pet. With the regular vet away enjoying some much deserved time off I spent some time on the phone looking for a vet that not only could get me in fairly quickly but also can see ducks. Dr. Gorman was able to see What the Duck and give us some peace of mind going into the weekend. The entire staff was extremely sweet and gentle with What. We would like to thank you.

Extremely satisfied with the care our goat Frankie received! Dr S explained everything he was going to do and instructed me in giving injections and medications. I love this vet office. From the vet techs to the vets, they are really down to earth and easy to talk with about my dog. I recently found out my dog has a ruptured ligament in her knee and I appreciated that they didn't automatically push surgery or shame me for considering other options. I loved that they had many other options to consider before a surgery with a very long recovery time for my aging girl. Anytime I've had a small concern or emergency, they have been extremely helpful over the phone and if it was necessary, got her in quickly.

BROOKE, DIANE AND DR STRAMBAUGH!!!!!! I showed up at 7:30 this morning in absolute tears… both of my babies, Rico and Zena got surgery today. I was scared to say the least, as Rico is 10 this year and Zena is not even a year old. Diane wasn’t the one working the counter but happened to be back there when we arrived and saw I was crying and came around to say hello to Rico and lighten the mood and helped get us into the room. I did the intake and then I saw Brooke and the tears turned into a smile, knowing how well she treated Zena on her last appointment coupled with the fact that she walked me through every single detail of what would happen, the bill, and I had not experienced that there with Rico’s a few weeks prior. Dr Straumbaugh called me 2-3 times throughout the day and kept me in the loop on both of them, I received texts and photos… and when I got there… she sat on the floor with me and Rico, showed me everything she did during surgery, gave me instructions, empathy, reassurance, and loved on Rico the entire time. That’s not all… Brooke helped me carry everything to the car (I’m extra and brought treats, snacks, multiple specialty cones, and an extra carrier) and she helped load it in along with my anesthesia drunk babies. She reassured me and told me to call them tomorrow if I needed anything… long story short… I will not take my babies anywhere else! Thank you all so much.

This review is only for their Oswego, NY office. Good Veterinary Service. We’ve taken all of our pets there for the past twenty years. The reception and billing staff are mostly friendly, and the techs and some of the Veterinarians have been exceptionally great in care and demeanor.My favorite doctor is Dr. Oliver; Good soul with genuine compassion.No complaints except for high cost of veterinary services in general. It would be nice if they allowed reasonable payment plans to all via monthly payments.Considering that over 40% of Americans do not have $400 on hand for emergencies, I think allowing an old fashion payment plant would be the right and moral thing to do.Forget pet insurance. It’s not cost worthy and many cannot afford it, for it does not cover much. It is our experience that just one visit for one of our pets usually costs $400 with normal test and meds, by the time we leave. A wellness checkup however, costs about the same with minor tests, but if your pet needs more extensive tests, it can cost several hundred more or less.We have one dog and two cats now that are alive and well cared for, though our lone dog is now a senior. We used to have another dog and three other cats who have all passed away since we started with this Veterinary service 20 years ago. When one has to pay for services for 3 animals per year including wellness checks it really adds up, (we’ve never had more than 4 pets at any given time in past twenty years)We are not in the same financial position we were several years ago. Times are hard for everyone.In these days and hard times, veterinary services need to realize pets are not just someone’s property (as is recognized by law) and that people’s pets are like their children or even emotional life line. Everyone deserves to make a living at providing veterinary care, veterinary professionals have worked hard to earn their degree.Unfortunately not everyone makes the same kind of money as vets ( or general doctors for that matter) so a little more compassion towards financial compensation via monthly installment plans ( not via credit cards or only for the high score credit worthy) would be a huge new wave of compassionate veterinary care that is like the rest of the western world, the way it is in most countries of Europe and the Slavic and Nordic countries too.

Very professional and accommodating with our dog’s appointment. They were very kind and took very good care of her with her tests. Our dog gets quite nervous while at the vets and they were very kind with her. The Doctor took the time needed for Mocha to get used to her before she started her exam. Mocha got lots of treats and attention from her while there. Great job everyone!! We totally recommend North Country Veterinary Services for your pets.

The best vet in the area by far! Particularly the Pulaski, NY location!! The staff from the receptionists to the doctors are all incredibly warm and helpful. They provided free after hours calls to assist in an emergency situation and even left a very heartfelt message when I lost my dog of 14 years that I’ve kept saved in my voicemails to this day. I can’t recommend this vet enough! The Oswego location will do when needed but the Pulaski location is where it’s at!

I have used this practice for the past 15* years.. my rescue 4-5 yrs old has anxiety and loves all the vet techs and vets there.. they are always gentle and explain everything to me.. and I never feel rushed. My baby pup will need surgery and I trust them to help her..

My 3 year old lab started to limp. Made an appointment and got in quick. Dr Odre took all kinds of time answering my every question. Exam was thorough and we developed a treatment strategy based upon her expertise. Ive used them for many years. Many vet changes over time due to retirements but they always find outstanding replacements!

Dr. Oliver was fantastic w Bea. She had been having issues with her back leg. The screaming she exhibited, led me to belive she was having seizures. Dr. Oliver reassured me that we could rule that out and focus on a floating knee issue. Immediate relief that this is something we could sadely manage!!!Always a pleasure to have Dr. OLIVER as the "girls" provider. Thank you!!!!

My cat is not a regular patient of theirs. I called all local vets, including the one he has been seeing for over 10 years, and nobody could get him in. I was concerned that he was going to have to be put down because of the state he was in. North Country made accommodations to get him in that same day to be seen. We were sent home with some medication to see if it will help before making the toughest decision a pet parent has to make 😔 I can't express how thankful I am for them. All of the staff were wonderful, caring, and willing to do what was needed for him.

These vets are amazing and dedicated people! My dog has high anxiety. Dr. Stambaugh and her assistant were very patient with him, listened to my concerns, and gave me great information. I have been going to North Country for a long time and they have always been so caring and loving to my pets. Through the years, I have also seen Dr. Hoskins many times who has also been amazing to my pets and with my concerns. I highly recommend them! You won’t find better.

I love the way she gets right down in the floor with our dogs - so personal in her care - and she is super responsive. Whenever I leave a message for her I always get a call back. The techs are super wonderful also! I highly recommend them.
