Do not buy fish or any of there overpriced accessories. Management and employees are condescending and rude. Mattia’s is knowledgeable but no customer service, at least he has compassion unlike his mgr Rebecca. Some manager frank should retrain his entire staff. Waste of time.

Everything is super expensive here. If you want toys, walk to the dollar tree store next door, for food, target is a minute away. The service is sub par and the popular items always sell out.

I waited over a half an hour for someone in the aquatic dept. The cashier was by herself with a line wrapped around. Not one soul answered her for help nor did anyone ever show up to get me the fish I needed.They lost a big sale today. Horrible customer service

We were sold dead moss balls for our betta. We unfortunately went into the store on a whim with no knowledge. After returning home and doing some research 1. They should not be selling these, they are now banned (the live ones) 2. It was dead! See photo. It could have killed our new betta. The best part, the man from the fish department checked us out! They should be green and lush. Not likeThis photo. I’m not sure what happened to this store, the customer service is the absolute worst, there is never enough staff and then this whole debacle. I will never return to this store again.

Our young dog had a LOT of behavioral problems. So we took Level 1 and Level 2 dog training with Diane. We went to every class and did the homework and guess what? HUGE IMPROVEMENT in behavior. For example, he will "leave it" instead of chewing up everything. He had pulled constant on walk, but after months of practice, he is doing very well. Less barking. More listening. HE IS A GOOD DOG! Thank you PetCo and Diane for reducing the dog chaos in our home!

Walked into the Poughkeepsie location today to return a few things I purchased for my bunny last month. Didn’t have an issue until I pulled out my debit card to get a refund and the cashier explained I missed the 30 day return window by 3 days I’m like are you kidding me my RABBIT DIED! Not to mention the items were NEVER opened and I had the original receipt!! Who plans for their beloved pet to die!? NO ONE. I’m DISGUSTED the way I was treated today! I won’t be stopping here, corporate will also be notified along with the better business bureau.

One of the best Pet stores in the Hudson Valley. They have live fish (freshwater & saltwater), reptiles, rabbits, and other small animals. I used to have a Chameleon that I bought from Petco. For anyone whose never owned a reptile they are one of the hardest to maintain. I would go to Petco once every other week to buy live crickets so my Chameleon could eat. They always had fresh restocked crickets so my reptile never got bad food. All the equipment I needed for my Chameleon I was able to purchase at Petco. The prices on there products are average all depending on what you get. The staff here is awesome and they take care of the animals well. They also are very knowledgeable on everything you would need to purchase to make sure you don’t leave the store forgetting to get something. I was also impressed by how clean the store was especially during this Pandemic.

this location is mistreating the hamsters its unfair. 1 SMALL HIDE that is used for dwarfs or smaller , A big male syrian hamster cannot fit in that small of a hide And only one of those small things for 5 hamsters and 1 cage really? and Wired wheels for a hamster are so unsafe, but you can get their feet caught in them dangerous. that's all staff is nice, and the rats were biting each other and looked sad please upgrade the cages , wheels were so dirty and rats were hard to run on them , syrian should have a regular wheel , flying saucers are trying to have them run at a angle with can be bad, nothing wrong with the staff but thw hamsters made me sad to see this

I bought my Guinea pig 40 days ago after 2 weeks I told them he’s acting sick and they said he was fine for today he passed away I told them he wouldn’t eat ANY TYPE OF FOOD AND WOULDNT TOUCH HIS WATER I spent so much money trying to get him better for him to die in my hands this morning I’m sobbing I feel in love with my pet and now he’s gone because they sold a sick animal and refused to acknowledge him being ill I’ll never shop here again. I’m Devastated right now

This is a great store and I was able to find the dog food I was looking for relatively easily. I am going to be a new dog owner soon and this store had a lot of d food, toys, supplies and other items I will need to raise her. The store was very clean and organized and staff were helpful.

I bought 3 glo fish from the Poughkeepsie location to go into my tank with the few other fish I had. Within a week the glo fish got sick and every fish in my tank died . They tell you they have a 30 day refund policy but they don’t include that you need to KEEP your dead fish bodies if you want a refund. I’m so upset that I have to start all over on my daughters fish tank after only having it for about 2 months.

One of the more robust aquarium sections I have seen in a petco. Large variety of species available, above average selection of plants and live corals. Prices are all over the place though so do some research beforehand if budget is a concern.Some species are priced at what pristine specimens should go for, despite being mid grade from a serious hobbyist standpoint.Getting service took longer than finding what I went in for.Would have given it 3 stars, but the sheer quantity of species available was impressive for a chain pet store.

The staff at this location are extremely polite and knowledgeable. We bought 2 bearded dragons from them, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. My wife and I now go there at last twice a week to get crickets for the dragons, and everyone there is super helpful.
