Best customer service!! Courtney the furniture manager at the Potsdam location knows her stuff. She explained everything from in store warranty and additional warranty insurance on my new recliner and couch. I am so pleased. This will definitely be my go to store.Other employees in store are very friendly and helpful.Thank you so muchTammy

Not only do I love the deals I find here: including the Panettone cakes (the full size is $10 at Price Chopper, but only $6 here AND with the current promotion I got a mini one for Free, even though it's already only $1.) - and I've never had this pasta before, but I cooked it up tonight and it was great! (Gotta get more...)But, it's also very neat and clean, which is a big deal to me. And the staff was very friendly, which is an even bigger deal to me!

Bought stuff to get the free gift and in the end I was charged for it. My father-in-law did same thing and got charged the sales tax on the free item.otherwise store has some great deals if you look

Want to send a huge thank you to Lana in the furniture department. My daughter had an issue with a dresser she purchased. Lana went out of her way to help even on her own time to get a replacement to Potsdam the next day. And then she had the dresser assembled. She truly is such a caring, kind person. I understand why Big Lots is my daughter’s favorite store!

Fair prices and the staff is usually pretty attentive and knowledgeable. I like the variety of products.Doors are pretty narrow though so not sure if they are 100% ADA compliant. They also have public restrooms.

This Big Lots in particular is a great store. Clean, well organized, well stocked, courteous staff. I got a great deal on a moving room set I'm very happy with as well as sundry items over the past weight months or so. Just this weekend I bought two complete stress of dishes including glasses and flatware for $30, having a quality with which I am quite pleased.

Normally the staff is always so nice and warming. However there was an older associate that had just started I'd assume...he was very sweet and greeted me while he was working he accidentally broke a mirror and the one who was his supervisor I'd assume was ridiculously rude to him about it when he was apologizing. She needs to be moved out of her position, cruel power hungry witch is what she is. She wouldn't listen to anything he had to say and kept cutting him off...that's not how you manage or train someone. I personally saw it slip out of his hands and it was out of his control.

I missed Big Lots! (We don't have them in Canada). I first discovered Big Lots when I moved to Sault Ste Marie and used to cross to the US side to shop. I love the foods they carry that are not available in Canada as well as the decorating items. Glad to be back!

The girl taking care of the furniture department is top notch in customer service! She spent an enormous amount of time with me.I also did tell her to please be sure and help anyone else that needs it if they come in the department and not leave them waiting...as I'm one who must take their time when picking out furniture, it's just how I am especially when you've had hip replacements it has to be comfortable. She explained every mattress detail etc for my son needed a new one and helped me get a new living room broyhill sectional as made in the USA is important to me and these items are! Thank you Big Lots for carrying made in the USA Furniture and having great employees.

Yes also two Big Lots you can get anything you want to hear from food I think clothing and anything else just knew out there it's there you can get it there from furniture chairs tables couches you name it it's there just go see for yourself prices are very reasonable you you won't grow broke coming out of that store one thing you will create there is friendship with all the people that work there I bought many things your myself try it out see how you like it and then you'll know why they call it Big Lots

Some stores are easy to get to the dock and some aren't. Corp should care more about their employees. Unloading by hand is one thing but in the weather is harsh. They need to build a dock like most stores.

I like this store for its discounted merchandise. Big value for your buck basically. In the time of Corona-induced fiscal austerity in my household, this store helps us stretch our money a bit.

Like most of the other retailers in the region , Big Lots locations in our Saint Lawrence County are all clean , well stocked and are staffed with courteous / outgoing individuals . Of all our pleasant experiences with Big Lots Stores the most outstanding must be last weeks interactions with the Great People at the POTSDAM STORE !WAYNE , KARA , SHELDON AND STEVE had treated Millie and me with service well above our expectations ! Wayne went out of his way to reach out to all other locations , some were significant distance away from Potsdam to inquire what they had remaining in inventory of the end of season outdoor / clearance furniture . We had been very fortunate in going to their store just before everything we were interested in purchasing was sold out . Wayne wasn't able to find any other store within over a one hundred mile radius of Potsdam that had anything left that would complement that purchase . We got a truly great deal from Kara and Wayne on the 13 items items , some had needed repair due to the normal floor sample status wear and tear associated with a very active store . We took them home , did the necessary fix ups and we couldn't be happier !There was sadly one exception however , the Massena location it seems did have the similar items but didn't give Wayne accurate information in a timely manner when he called , they quickly dismissed his inquiry without taking the time to check what they had on the showroom floor only only a few steps away . When we went to the Massena location a few days thereafter , they still had everything on the floor at more rigid pricing . A few additional days thereafter they still had the same inventory but by then had started to mark down the items to reflect the similar pricing we purchased our items in the Potsdam Store that hadn't needed repairs .As several important points need to be made about the contrasting experiences in those 2 local stores we feel very blessed to have had the great good fortune to contact WAYNE at the POTSDAM STORE , FIRST !!!First - Wayne took the time as the polished professional management individual HE IS to give us accurate information of his own stores inventory ( we had just missed by a few hours an opportunity on one complementary matching piece of the furniture ) .Second - Wayne had felt so badly for us in missing out on that other piece ( that was nothing that they caused ) that he went well above and beyond to try to find another store that might still have that similar piece. Do you think the Massena Store would have done that same time consuming extended courtesy ? If so it certainty wouldn't have been made by the individual who didn't find the few SECONDS IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN TO CONFIRM THEIR OWN SHOWROOM INVENTORY that Wayne had requested !Third - Both Kara and Wayne showed us great respect by holding the inventory the few hours it took us to get down to their store and gave us some additional generous allowance for the damaged parts and for us taking All their pieces of that styling at the same time . When I had called the Massena Store , they didn't try to offer any additional reasonable discount ( We didn't expect them to match the pricing we received on the damaged pieces in Potsdam , just some reasonable motivation to clear out the items quickly ) . They didn't offer it and the inventory was still on the showroom floor a week later !Lastly - As all these many selling seasons in the retail industry quickly come and go , it is of importance for those stores to transition as completely and rapidly as possible to the next event to maintain continuity . The Potsdam Store recognized the offer we made , we then made a reasonable additional counter offer and everyone was happy with the outcome . As an individual who had been in businesses that deal with the public all my life , I certainly appreciate someone meeting me halfway . It seems the Massena location would be well served by emulating more of what the Potsdam store already knows and practices!WELL DONE WAYNE , KARA , SHELDON , STEVE AND ALL ELSE THERE

Went there to get a blanket for my bed and a butter dish. They only had comforters. No blankets of any kind. Only had one plain glass butter dish. I realize that the pandemic has caused shortages of many items so, although I was disappointed, I still like Big Lots.

They have remodel the store redefined there image and products , try to complete with the malls , I do shop there but have a harder time in finding thing I want to buy , I more or less get what I need . They have gone in to sell better furniture then what they had years ago

If you know what you are looking for, and they have it, you are in luck. Impulse buying is a potential drawback. Quality, value and price need to be factored into a purchase.

Staff is always very helpful. We go for the sodas in glass bottles (Boylans), some of their international cookies, and I've bought DVDs there.
