I highly recommend this place, staff was very friendly, both when I first adopted my girl and when I came back for her to be spayed, when I adopted her the staff was concerned about her finding a good home and was very thorough and professional with the application process and seemed legitimately excited when I was approved and taking her home. With her spay, her incision healed super quick and the day after the surgery she acted like nothing had happened. Over all definitely will come back when I look for another dog in the future!

We had such a wonderful experience when we visited on April 7th, 2024. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I loved how thorough they were with the adoption process. I’m happy to say that we found our furry baby, 10 week old female lab mix that our children named Sandy. Highly recommend coming here to adopt!

Our experiences with NSAL have always been positive. They are just the Real Deal, no unnecessary meds or products, just what is best for your pet. We have adopted pets from them as well as other rescues and feel confident in them providing our pets exams, meds, vaccinations and surgeries. They recently upgraded their Low Stress Protocol Exams for pets with anxiety. We are absolutely amazed at how well our older dog did in her last visit. They were even able to clip All of her nails, which had been attempted by many Doctors /Groomers & Family Members for the passed few years.Reina B and Dr. Carney are just the Best!!

I bring my dog here and they are the best. I found a tick on my dog in October and was worried he may have Lyme disease so I brought him today to get Lyme testing and a vaccine. He also had eye issues. The vet and the staffs were so sweet. My dog is not the easiest to handle- he’s not aggressive but he can be a handful. They were so patient with him and gentle. The vet gave him a full physical- even pointed out things I was not aware of as in a lump on his shoulder. They took care of his eyes and prescribed medication. They also performed the Lyme test in house so I was able to get results same day.The wait was not long- they actually honor appointments (I know some places I went to- I would still be waiting an hour even though i made an appointment haha) I really like all the staffs here and everyone was very professional and bedside manner was great! Also the prices are so cheap compared to other places. I was expecting $500+ but nope- def paid less than that. I highly highly recommend this place to everyone.

This is my second adoption from NSAL. My first kitten Franky was back in 1989. And now Georgie my second kitty from here. Everyone at the health center is so nice and friendly. The vet is great! I recommend this place. It’s a drive but so worth it.

The veterinarians and technicians are the best! They all care about the animals that are brought to them for health care. When one of my dogs died a few years ago I got a sympathy card from the veterinarian. Their prices are lower than a private vet and I feel that they are more caring. Will always bring my dogs to North Shore Animal League of America.

The most amazing staff and crew you could imagine. Everything is set up for you to seamlessly meet and adopt a wonderful pet. A one stop shop with the veterinary hospital right next to the adoption center, everything is extremely affordable, convenient and they take the best care possible with your loved ones. I couldn’t ever imagine going to a pet store after my wonderful experience with north shore. They have so many puppy mill rescues it’s guaranteed you will fall in love with one. It's heartwarming to witness a rescue animal’s growth and transformation. Their ability to adapt, learn, and become an integral part of your life is truly remarkable. I’m enjoying every single moment with my new pup. I love her more and more each day.

Make your appointments well in advance because they are often overbooked. We adopted from NSAL and have kept coming back to their wellness center because we trust the care here to be based on best practices and free of exploitation

Been bringing my dog here since a puppy. My local vet prices were sky high so I found I got the best care for more reasonable costs. I wholeheartedly recommend them and make sure to plan ahead, appointments go fast.

Fantastic place, staff is kind and friendly. I had adopted a kitten and they made a few months ago and the process was smooth. I have now visited their vet for my kitten to get spay. The visit was very professional and once it was done they explained everything to do to care for her.

The staff is so nice, helpful and thorough. They ease your worries when it comes to your sick pet. I highly recommend North Shore for all your pet needs or if you are thinking of getting a pet they are the go to place for pet adoptions.

This was our first visit to the wellness center for our cat Iris. The Vet and the staff were wonderful. They have a concern about Iris's bloodwork and followed up with a phone call and an email to us. I'm verry impressed. Thank You NSAL.

One incredibly bad, unprofessional experience. Came in for a kitten bloodwork, vaccine appointment. They needed some assistance restraining him and called in an additional technician to help, as he was getting a bit uncomfortable and stressed. The tech who came in, Rena or something along those lines, proceeded to help them turned to us ,once the blood was taken and vaccine administered, to tell us we need to take the vet’s advice and use medication to mellow him out.My issue isn’t with what they were saying - I trust their professional opinion and advice, although she was pretty aggressive in her handling of him.My issue is that they yelled at my partner and I, making it seem that I was neglectful and incompetent. Yes, this can be a high-stress environment, but that is quite literally part of the job. When you interface with customers, it’s important to not speak with so much venom and anger. To treat customers/patients as if they are beneath you is a disservice to everyone, especially those at PHC who do their job in a respectful way. I would not be surprised if we were spoken to in such a rude way because of our ethnicity. The tech seems like they cannot handle changes of pace or pressure in the work place. We were not combative at all and yet she chose to treat us like we willingly rejected their advice. This was quite literally my second visit to PHC and at the first appointment, it was suggested that next time we would monitor to see if medication would be necessary. There are ways to convey your professional opinion without demeaning those you are speaking to. I hope there can be some reflection on this. They also recommended the medicine yet didn’t tell the receptionist so we were stuck here an extra hour.

It’s a best place for solving any medical issues for your pet! Thank you for all Doctors and vet assistance and who works there. I have a very character dog. We never had any problems, just wanted say thank you. The area where clinic and wellness center are located very clean and dogs friendly. Staff is very professional and provides excellent service. Even me feel comfortable to be there with my very very character dog. It’s an important thing for me. If my dog happy me more happy 😃 unfortunately I didn’t take photos in clinic it was done after😂

Highly recommend North Shore Animal League Pet Health Center! I live in Queens and have never gone anywhere else after adopting my dog from there 9 years ago. They are so professional, caring, knowledgeable and all-around fantastic. Through all stages of my dog's life, they have given great advice. My dog has had many services there from surgery to all the basics like issues with allergies, skin growths, teeth/gum issues, etc. She is doing great and I trust them with anything that comes up. Top notch! Also - everyone there from the doctors, assistants, office staff - are all excellent. It's very well organized and runs smoothly. Kudos and thank you to the team!

I am always happy with the care at the NSALA. Murphy needed tooth extractions in July and they did a great job. And yesterday, I called and got him seen for urgent issue regarding his hip. He is feeling better and also got his rabies shot! Murphy is not a big fan of NSALA, but I sure am.

My Wife an I adopted a puppy from North Shore Animal League. Brought him to the Veterinarian for a visit (he ate something that didn’t agree with him) the staff was very helpful, professional and thorough. The visit was covered and the adoption fee was very reasonable. Great staff great experience and THE BEST DOG!!

I've been a supporter of North Shore Animal League America for years. The first TWO sister who I ever adopted (who've since passed on), turned out to be the Best felines, ever. The Veterinarians are very good & caring more about the animals, than filling their wallets. There have been 1-2 whom I was not 100% comfortable with (as in most clinics), so I stay with the one(s) I do! After having lost my previous furry feline, in Aug 2021, I thought it was time to re-adopt.. I LOVE these 2 baby boys! The care that's been given to them while they awaited their forever home is beyond measure: GREAT! If I was an animal there, I may have chosen to stay; it's resort-like! And everyone who works there is there with their heart and the animals interests as #1! The facility is IMMACULATE! There is absolutely NO odor from the many who are housed there. To me, there is none other! NSALA does an extensive check before letting one of the 4-leggeds go into any home. They do not just give to anyone! And I LIKE THAT A LOT! Thank you NSALA! 🐾😻

Always the best place to bring our cats and dogs who are in need of a routine checkup or emergency medical situation. You can rest assured that your fur baby will receive the best care by all staff members. I've had my Pomeranian treated for diabetes and related conditions to my Chihuahua requiring emergency care after being struck by a car. She was triaged, cleaned up and held overnight for observation. I picked her up the following morning and she was perfect.

I’ve adopted 4 babies over the years. 2 cats in 1990(17 years) a lab mix in 2006(15 years) and just got a new baby boy lab mix. Have had nothing but positive experiences. Couldn’t be more grateful for the years of joy and unconditional love afforded to me by north shore! The vet services are exceptional and they make me and my dog feel so comfortable. I will continue to use them as my dogs primary vet and highly recommend them, especially to new pet owners!

I called NSAL a few weeks ago asking for an appointment because my dog was really sick and the vet that I took him to wanted $600 just for X-rays and the interpretation of the X-rays. I was advised by North Shore AnimalLeague that they are no longer taking patients, but the person on the phone Nick heard me so distraught that he asked me to hold and he went above and beyond for me to be able to get an appointment for my dog. My dog is my support animal and my companion and it meant the world to me that they took him in and made him feel better. When I got there I was still extremely upset and crying not knowing what was wrong with my dog and every single person there was extremely compassionate and helpful. I will be forever grateful at the treatment that my baby and I both received by North Shore Animal League. I would definitely recommend them. Thank you so much to NSAL and their staff!
