So I live in Manhatten I happened to be in the neighborhood for a hair appointment and found this Petco to have a high rating of 4.1 I was sold on the review. So I made a last min appointment for my dog and normally all my past experience at Petco grooming they normally would take an HR or 2 to give my 1 year and a half pitbull full package spa treatment. This location took 15-20min to give him a bath and trim nails it was the fastest he's ever been in and out and he didn't feel as soft and clean as he normally is he. I gave the lady a heads up he's not a fan of the blower and he's always nervous about bath time. So how did they manage to bath him so fast? I honestly don't feel like they made the effort to give him a proper bath even my mom commented (haze my dog ) smells a bit. Never again would I return to this location waste of my time and money.

I am so glad Petco PortChester re-opened... My new kitten Leyla appreciates it. Great selection of everything you need for any pet and though limited right now in employees due to covid... employees are fast, caring and helpful.

Usually my experience here is kind of pleasant but over the phone the associate I was assisted by did not care to explain properly anything and as I asked questions she responded like a tape recorder without any sort of explanation and she even demanded that I hang up the phone. I don’t want to waste my money at this place with such horrible customer service. I’m sure though that not everyone is like this because I have seen some other very friendly people. I might even just come in to return the things I bought because she was not at all answering my different questions and just told me to go online over and over again and to hang up. I would give her a survey of 0 stars if I could have.

The last 2 times my mom’s been there the salespeople kept staring at her and whispering to each other for no reason. We are customers since my mom lives in Port Chester and we have a female cat. We buy her food, toys, sand, clothes, treats and snacks, etc. Some weeks ago when that happened, I made a complain with Petco on Twitter, then manager called me, he apologized and said they don’t expect this kind of behavior with people that work for the brand. Then told me this store is about to be closed. But today the same happened. I tried to call the manager and the lady who picked the phone made me wait almost 10 minutes, then I hung up and called again. This time the man who answered the phone told me that manager just has left. That was around 2:30 PM, and advised me to call back tomorrow. It’s so disrespectful, rude and sad that kind of behavior at that store. We are buying stuff and we all should be respected as humans!!! So embarrassing!!!

When I entered the store an associate at the register greeted me. I ordered an item online to pick-up in store at the PortChester location. I wanted to also get some wet cat food, and there was a great selection of cat food, more than before so I was pleased that I had quite a bit of variety to choose from. When I had to check out and also pick-up my order a nice sales associate acknowledged me and helped me out. Great check out experience. Kudos to your staff.

This place is pretty good, it turns out they are no longer closing and are in fact staying open! There was a very nice woman who had red curly hair who helped us about a year ago get hamsters. She was very kind and helpful.

I had asked to hold a particular dog item yesterday that will be bought today. The sales lady was accommodating, wrote my name on a piece of paper and reassured me that it will be put aside. However when I came in today, nobody was able to find it and felt like the manager just disappeared. Usually these kind of things are not a big deal for me, but it was literally the only one of it's kind left in the store. On top of that, I'd like to also point out that there were 2 areas in the store that had peed and was just left there, which was not only stepped on by my puppy but myself as well. Sadly, this is not the first time I've seen pee just left there to dry out.

The worst service and nasty employees here. There was actually this very pleasant and helpful man there with I think curly or wavy hair shoulder length, and an older women with grey hair there that were extremely kind and helpful. The cashier was super nasty, I think her name was either Liz or Jill.

I normally do not write reviews. I called Petco in Port Chester New York yesterday and spoke with an amazing young lady by the name of Victoria who went above and beyond to try to help me. When I called I could hear she was extremely busy at the cash register but she put me on a brief hold and went to look for the food I was looking for and came back and told me they had it and she would hold it for me until I got there. Victoria is one of the most personable kind person I have spoken to on the phone in a long time. Thank you Victoria for being such a wonderful and kind soul.

Great service. Polite people, overall great community. They have very random(yet interesting) supplies and toys for hamsters. My hamsters enjoy the food variety they have along with the treats. The cages are enjoyable and great for travel. I would 100% recommend this petco for anyone with a pet they love!

Very nice staff, plenty of parking but was running low on items when I went. I came to pick up an online order but they did be had be the item and I had to be refunded. Online amounts don't match the in store numbers at locations

This is a fabulous place to have my dog groomed. The woman who takes care of my dog does a fantastic job. The woman that greeted us at the counter was extremely rude, though. But I am very satisfied with their service.

The store itself is great but the groomer is horrible. She has no respect, is very rude, and a waste of time. I had an appointment, I went out of my way to bring my dog to his appointment and when I got there. She told me that she can’t groom my dog even though on the phone she was happy to take the appointment. Seriously such a waste of time, she told me that I could look into mobile grooming or that I can try to wash them myself. Clearly she could’ve told me these things on the phone rather than me come in and waste my time.

I was trying to save some money, and after looking up the nutritional information on my dag's food, I thought "hey, this is probably better than McDonald's". Nutritionally it was better, but wow, the taste was horrid. I tried heating some we dog food up with some cheese and wrapping it in a tortilla, but that only made it worse. All in all, I give this food store 3 stars for being able to feed my dog at a good price, but not me. A little disappointing.

I go here a lot because it's close by. They never have carts though, and this is becoming a problem when I buy cat litter and a large bag of food. Last weekend there was just 1 cart in the store and none even in the parking lot. Apparently people keep stealing them, but until they figure this problem out, I'll be visiting other petco locations.

The help in this particular store is non-existing. The store is always out of products, and the staff never knows when the store will be resupplied. This store is in great need of a new manager, and the staff need to be trained in customer relation. Just because this store is located in Port Chester, does not mean it should be ignored. Port Chester has a large community of animal lovers. It's a shame we have to go elsewhere for products needed.

I also shop in Petco in Port Chester everyone working there very helpful and friendly!! Shelves are always stocked and store in neat and clean!!! My cat Dolce loves all the new choices and different brands of meals I buy her!!!!!!!

I have been going to this store since I was about 8 and the product selection has always been good. In fact, I have gone here over the nearby petsmart because of the better product selction. However, the service has been terrible. There is only one cashier most of the time (this is a very large branch) and although I know there are multiple employees they are never easy to find. They spend a good deal of the time in the backroom so you may have to ask for them at the front or you won't get service. Also, since it's a low-paying job, their is a high turnover rate, meaning the employees often don't know where anything is. After my experience in the last couple of years, I think I'll start going to petsmart instead.

I tried to pay with a gift card on my phone and the woman checking me out had trouble scanning it, but wouldn't enter it another way (type into the computer) or call a manager. She said that they do not accept gift cards if they are not physical cards I asked if she could try to scan again. She then said that she could process it if I just inserted a card, so I did as she asked but then she actually ran my debit card instead of using the gift card so I got $100+ charge debited from my account when I did not intend to do so. She then dismissed me when I asked if she rang it up that way so I left and checked my online banking to confirm. Went back in to ask her to return and rerun on my gift card and she said she couldn't do it unless I brought all of the items (50+ lbs of dog food) back inside for her to scan and was unwilling to explain why she couldn't re run the gift card. I left and called pet perks customer service number and they misunderstood what I was asking and left me on hold for 25 mins just to confirm that I'd have to return the items to repurchase with the gift card. Had to run back in later and return all but 1 essential item and will repurchase other things, with my gift card, from another store sometime in the future. Very poor customer service experience. I am a regular customer at this location, have been for years, but I do not plan to return.

The staff is helpful. Just ask. They really do love animals and they know you love yours! I was buying a big bag of dog food and they helped me load it into my cart and even offered to help me to my car!

Petco really stopped low in giving the manager position to an Osvaldo. I returned my pets dish because I was overcharged and explained to him that there were signs it was on sale and he told me bluntly “oh well this is the price.” I was in shock that that’s how he spoke to me so I said I just want you to credit my card back. And the lashing out at the register and crinkling up my original receipt was uncalled for. When I asked for his name he ignored me until I asked a little louder in case he didn’t hear me and he answered me look at the receipt. At that point I asked to speak to the manager and that’s when he told me he was and I was in awe that THATS what Petco wants as the face of their store. Absolutely in shock and will be calling headquarters because if that’s how he speaks to people, I can only imagine how he’s treatjnv the animals that are there and or the pets that come in for grooming.

Employees are delightful, however management can improve. The fish area is a hazardous one where tubing is usually all laid out on the floor. My 3 year old son tripped over a tube and cut himself on a peice of aluminum tanking equipment. As it was more a mere scrape, I didn't intend to make a scene of it as my son could have been more careful himself, however, a sign or some sort of safety barricade should be set up in the event these tubes need to be exposed to prevent any danger or harm to customers entering the premises. Again, staff is polite and friendly, just a bit more organization would be appreciated.

I made an appointment with Petco's Grooming Service. Waited 1 week to be seen. Came there with my dog just to be turned away with an excuse that they have a "new" policy that does not allow them to groom dogs that have mats. That's a bunch of BS!! What kind of groomer does not take care of mats!!!???!?!? On the phone, they don't ask you about mats! I wasted my time waiting a whole week for their appointment just to be turned away at the door! I could have gone somewhere else faster. Horrible service. Stay away!!

My review is for the grooming staff. I LOVE THEM! Heather was always my favorite, but since she left, Christina has become my pal. I've been coming here for baths since I was a puppy and they've always been so nice to me.
