Probably the worst Dollar General in the state. Some days it is just closed. No sign or explanation. A lady smoking a cigarette with a Dollar General shirt yelled at me as I tried to enter one day saying "the store is closed". The staff seems miserable and they told me they cannot even use the restroom in their own store while working. I guess they have to walk down to McDonalds or the Hardware store to pee?! This is a BILLION DOLLAR company and they cannot maintain a restroom for the people running stores for them?! Absolutely disgraceful. No wonder the store looks trashed and everyone they hire is so apathetic.

Oh my.. who is overseeing this place.Can’t find anyone to ring me up EVER. I’m not getting paid by the hr to stand and wait or look for someone to ring me up.. smhEvery single time I’d go in ther is never Anyone even remotely near the register . I’ll have to go search for them. I’m tryna be in and out don’t have time for all that. If this store was managed properly it’d probably do 5 10x as much business. I don’t think it’s a secret anymore that service stinks horribly. Wth!! I’m local but won’t return. Average wait time is 7-10 mins in waiting when I’m literally only customer in store to ring me up. I’m a cash customer. DisgraceHmm... wonder why I’m usually only one in there. 😅Lastly what’s up wit that broken door. It could easily slam n hit u and injure someone. Someone needs firing. Please lmk if anyone else feels me here. Lol

Good prices, generally friendly staff. However, the store always seems to be neglected (in terms of cleanliness and organization). There is often only one register open (because self scan is broken and from what I saw yesterday, the other register is broken as well). Being a manager in retail myself, this pretty clearly seems to be neglect by upper management (district, regional, corporate). That store clearly needs some help and tlc, it's been in that condition for a while, it seems decently high volume, so why not make a plan and clean it up?

I always love going into Dollar general in pleasant valley ny due to there great prices and everyone is so nice and greets you at the door. If I ever have any questions someone is always there to assist me. I love when Brian works he is always on the go helping anyone he can. He's a fast and courteous guy who really cares about his costumers. He always has proper respect and always loves a challenge. I always see him multitasking and creating a great safe work environment for everyone. All the aisles are cleared to walk through with carts and shop as go for a great shopping experience. I love this location do to all new staff and Brian is a wonderful worker as well as the new employees. I can see that this dollar general is progressing fast and I will continue to shop there knowing it's a safe environment for all. Fantastic work ethic in this dollar general. Thanks to all the employees for making my dollar general experience amazing!!!!!!

Great clean organized medium sized store. Just right. Lots of choices. Along w name brands, they carry "Clover Valley" food products which is an excellent brand for most all their items. Easy & great parking, too. Jeremy is top-notch main dude! Staff quiet but helpful when asked.

This used to be my go-to store. I have spent tons of money in this store. Once the previous manager left ,this store has become a nightmare. Shopping carts are nowhere to be found. If you do find one, it's broken. The store is filthy. The store manager and clerks talk about customers right at the registers in front of other customers. On a constant basis. And the district manager seems not to careafter so many complaints made. Onecustomer complained about the lines and the clerk said it makes absolutely no difference to him if customers walk out..Shoddy, horrible place..

I was juat cursed at by an employee after asking why she felt it was a good idea to throw my chips around. After waiting 10 mins in line I was told she was doing it to move as fast as she csn. Well I was already there what's another min to take some care. Slammed it across the scanner and tossed it into the bag when it didn't scan grabbed it back up and Threw it across the scanner. And then proceeded to curse me out.

I love this store. Affordable. With a wonderful staff to greet you. I shop there, just about every other day. It local walking distance, here in town. People are friendly and very helpful. They have just about anything you may need!

Prices are still good but employees are rude and self involved. They arent wearing masks half the time or have them down on their chins were it does nothing at all for the safety of the customer. They are too busy listening to music and playing with their phones to be concerned about customers welfare. They allow people without masks into the store as well and say nothing to them. Checkout is slow. The store itself is dirty and messy. Theres unpacked boxes of items in the isles and the shelves are poorly organized. Theres items that have run out that havent been restocked (probably just sitting in the back somewhere or never bothered to re-order it). Its pretty pathetic. If it werent for the prices I dont think theyd still be in business.

Excellent Dollar General. Really nice staff. They have just about anything you need. Milk and eggs are the cheapest anywhere in the area. Large selection of food and cleaning products. The house brand Clover Valley is just fine. They have art supplies and school supplies. Lots of paper goods, pet foods, cosmetics, health and beauty items. Also have home decorative items, Plant supplies. They even sell clothing, underwear, bras and socks. You can even rent a carpet cleaning machine cheaper than any place in town. It's my first stop when I need anything.

I loved this store when it first opened in Pleasant valley.Lately the store is never stocked and is always dirty. The female manager is super rude and every time I have gone in over the last couple months she can be heard talking very rudely about her coworkers or customers that have come in. I do not like shopping in hostile environments such as this. Corporate should really investigate this store.

Pleasant Valley Dollar General has all new refrigeration section. Double the amount they had before. I haven't been in this one in months but knew they were getting new ones. Great prices on dairy and eggs but everything was empty. Got the last few half gallons of my milk on a surprise discount. Got some protein drinks for $1. When they have product ,DG is a great place to get dairy, eggs and lunch meat cheaper then grocery store. For whatever reason DGs Christmas wasn't on discount halfway thru January. One staff member said, "oh the sale was last week". You would think they would want to get rid of that stuff asap. DG in all of their stores do this. DG corporate really needs to rethink seasonal sales because they do that all of the time. They only have a week of really good clearance prices after holday or season is over but will end up with this product sitting around looking terrible for the next few months with only 25% mark down. People will then dumpster dive DG after they finally throw out what they don't sell. DG you need to get a better marketing person because that is really poor product management. I shop in 6 different DG its corporate not the store itself. I like the remodel of PV DG but biggest pet of that store has always been how dirty the entrance way, front of store and first 2 handicapped parking spaces are always so dirty with garbage laying around. Store manager needs to once or twice a day getting that area picked up at opening and closing of store. But for a really small store the remodel is very nice and store itself is tidy.

Store has the cheapest prices for milk, eggs, cheese, etc. The bottled water is one dollar for a one gallon bottle. They have great prices on mostly everything. Canned kidney beans are 50 cents a can. Instant Oatmeal packages are six per box for a dollar. Quaker is 7 packages and more than three times the price at my local market. They have everything from food, drinks to hardware stuff car products, curtains, rods, cleaning supplies, paper goods. Buy many items here rather than the supermarket.

Dollar General has a decent selection of everyday needs. If you're not familiar with where items are located, it's not worth shopping in tbe Pleasant Valley location. It's always a mess, so probably understaffed.

This is the dirtiest dollar general in New York. The automatic doors don't even open. It smells like something is rotting but you can't find where it is. The only reason I am giving this two stars is because really nice people work here and I am glad they have jobs.

Lacking and stuff aisles filled with boxes and carts being disabled in a wheelchair I couldn't get through some of the aisles. Prices are reasonable and so is the quality of the items.

This store has gone downhill over the past year or so. The staff are nice but are clearly miserable. You can barely get around because there are stacks of stock in the way of the shelves. It is also very dirty and disorganized.

Helpful when I need a place to stop and grab something I couldn't get in a grocery store, but the service is generally slow and the aisles are narrow and cluttered. rarely a quick stop.
