Normally, I wouldn't think it necessary to write a review for a generic chain as large CVS, but, unfortunately, this location's pharmacy has gone downhill to the point where even physicians have warned me against using it for my prescriptions. Having never had a bad experience with them before, I kept them as my preferred pharmacy when my son needed antibiotics for Strep...I called an hour after I left the pediatrician's office because I normally receive a text after a prescription has been ordered, telling me they are working on it, but I didn't receive anything. When the pharmacist picked up the phone, I asked about my prescription and when it would be ready, and she told me that they were out of stock...and then dead silence... no, "Oh, sorry, I was just about to notify you" or "I've gone ahead and forwarded it to another CVS in the area where it's available." She just said, "It's out of stock... You'll have to call around to other CVS locations to see if they have it." So, first of all, if I had not called, no one would have notified me that my son's medication was unavailable and I never would've gotten it, and, secondly, she was unwilling to look up on her computer where the medicine was in stock...It was very strange. Luckily, the second CVS store I called (the location on Route 44 across from Adam's) had a helpful pharmacist who immediately gave me the address and phone number of a CVS location that had the prescription in stock...which made it even more apparent just how bad the customer service at the Pleasant Valley location was. Even though this is the closest location, I do my best to avoid it now because of the terrible (but accurate) reputation. Hopefully, they will improve their service, but I'm going to fill my scripts elsewhere in the mean time.

They’re doing a pretty good job, and you can tell they’re busy and working hard.however, no fault of theirs but the website doesn’t allow you to load your prescription s and it doesn’t really work properly which is a little bit annoying and they are closed on Sundays and I just feel that they should have a few more ways that you can manage your prescriptions especially since every time you call it’s at least 15 minutes on hold but the staff was very friendly and is working very hard. Improved website functionality would make prescription management much more convenient and less of a hassle.

Gee we don’t have your extremely common blood pressure med in stock. We will order, don’t know when it will be there and when it is the pharm is rude, asks if im allergic to a med, and doesn’t bother to explain blue pill dispensed to a blue dye allergic customer. Too much work for less than an hour after opening for her

Less than one star! Worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. Horrible customer service. They never answer the phone for customers or doctors. Medicine is never filled or ready for pick up. Don’t use them unless you like wasting your time! 😡👎

I went in to check what meds were being renewed during morning hours last week, talked to staff. 2 meds were in process and one would be ready in 15 minutes. I shopped a little while waiting. All 3 meds were ready in less than 15 minutes. Quick, pleasant, helpful visit in Pleasant Valley CVS.

Phone menu won’t refill my rx and says I need to speak with a pharmacist but no matter how many times I call or how long I hold no one will answer the phone. My scripts here have never shown up on my online account either, so I really need to speak with someone.

STAY FAR AWAY THEY DO NOT CAREBy far the worst CVs and worst pharmacy around. Every month I have to wait til my medicine is completely gone to get a refill. I was told by a pharmacist here. Well if you don’t like it use another pharmacy.So far been 7 days since receiving my prescription, no medicine yet, i try to call everyday, wait about a half hour a day then have to hang up because who the heck has this much time to spend on the phone!? Figured id just go there yesterday at 1pm, a good half hour wait at the drive thru, currently on hold again.I sat on hold for 45 minutes today, hung up called their front desk, they said oh the pharmacy doesnt answer the phone anymore due to short staff. Proceeded to put me on hold for another 20 minutes, then i had to hand up because I AM AT WORK . I've called multiple days this week, about 3 hours of my time. Didnt just want to show up because its not ready and the line was insanely long. Are you kidding me? How is this acceptable from any company regardless of the situation? How about at least a message saying we are unable to answer the phone, rather than no message at all, people are just waiting to speak to no one? The store manager of this location needs to be immediately fired and held accountable for running such a garbage establishment.CVS acts like customers want to spend their time on hold and being drug around, no! we just want our medicine we are subscribed to take!SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN

Worst pharmacy ever! If I could give 0 stars I would. You refill a prescription and it takes days if not weeks to process, you get notifications your prescriptions are ready but when you go to pick up they’re not and they ask you to wait for another 20-30min. Terrible terrible service. Switching pharmacies to one further away because I cannot deal with this nonsense anymore.

Can't keep staff in pharmacy, nearby location had everyone walk out, waiting unreasonable long times for scripts, and that's if they have them. Wouldn't use if my insurance would let me go elsewhere.

Now closed on Sundays as of 10/1/23. It takes at least a week or two to get the medications you call in for refills. Expect to always have to wait either in store or in the car pickup line.

I have been trying to call them for two days and no one in the Pharmacy picks up. My Mother went down there on Monday at 3 pm to find the gates down. Does anyone know if they closed this branch. I cant get through to anyone.

Pharmacy closed at 6pm(which I didn’t know) I arrived at 6pm on the dot and a young girl with dark hair shouts rudely “we close at 6 today all of our registers are closed we can’t do anything for you, you have to come back tomorrow” I didn’t respond because I was calling my father to let him know and she shouts “Do you hear me” with an attitude. Very unprofessional wish I would have gotten her name. Totally understand you want to go home but no need to be rude with an attitude

After my original review below, and a talk with CVS corporate, things have been going smoothly. I'm raising my rating to 3 stars for now and will reevaluate in a few months if things continue to go well. Since they have made the effort to improve, I no longer feel the low rating is deserved. I appreciate the effort CVS has put forth.‐-----------------------------------------The worst, if I could give them zero stars I would. I have to use them because of my insurance.Be VERY careful and check your medications before you leave this pharmacy. They have given me the wrong prescription multiple times. They have also short changed me on controlled substances and have had to review the security tapes - the bag and prescription said 6 containers, but there was only one inside - who took the other 5??? They have rectified the situations but only after hours of inconvenience on my part. My doctor has called the same prescription in twice and they claim they never got the prescription. Every trip to CVS is an hour plus ordeal.The pharmacy staff has now told me to count the medication AND check the prescription in the bag before I leave to make sure THEY got right.

Frustrating that the only update to changed hours is on the front door. Google and the CVS website show the pharmacy open until 9pm as it has always been. That apparently changed to 7pm. The change in closing time is not a big deal, but not having it listed on the website correctly is quite frustrating. Especially when you have a medication that is needed today, show up 1.5 hours prior to the closing time and find out they close 2 hours earlier now. I also did not get any notification that the prescription was ready for pick up(like I always used to) I finally checked the app and saw it was ready. Headed to get it and find the pharmacy is closed.

Multiple days, prescription unfilled. 30+ minutes on hold on the phone waiting to see of script had been filled yet. Customer service in pharmacy is horribly slow. When I showed up to pick script up, I was told they could "try to expedite it" if I wanted to wait. I'm moving all business to another Pharmacy. Avoid like the plague!! I'd give them zero stars if Google allowed it. If you can't fill scripts, transfer them to another location that can.

The negative reviews on here are so funny to me. Lol, get over yourselves. This is a typical CVS with friendly staff and a great pharmacy team. I've been going here for 25 years shopping AND getting my prescriptions and NEVER encountered a single issue with the pharmacy department. People will literally complain about anything nowadays. Ignore the negative reviews. Y'all are such babies.

The pharmacy closes at 1:30pm now for “lunch break” and I’m on line waiting to be helped. 1:29PM and they refused to give me my prescription days after I have abdominal surgery and need medication. I’ll be switching pharmacies after this experience. Literally hunched over waddling and they told me to come back. Can’t drive so will have to find another ride. HORRIBLE customer service. Pathetic.

This place has gone down hill. Three times I put my order in and they never had them ready. Waited in the store for 45 minutes to have them fill it when they said they would fill it right away. CVS needs to do something...

I use this Pharmacy on a regular basis (several times a week). Most of the time I encounter very friendly helpful employees. The general manager, Celeste, is helpful and goes out of her way to give excellent customer service. Yesterday my visit was very unpleasant. I had to pick up two prescriptions. I decided to purchase several items that were on sale. They did not ring up correctly. I informed the cashier that the face moisturizer with sunscreen was on sale. She called, Laura, a manager and asked if it was on sale and Laura insisted it was not on sale without checking. I showed her where the item was on the shelf and the sale sticker. Laura then said it was on sale and walked away. She did not go back to the pharmacy to tell the cashier, she did not apologize for her rude behavior, she just walked away. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE CHANGE TO OTHER LOCAL PHARMACIES OR ORDER ON THE INTERNET. I am a very regular paying customer and expected to be treated with respect, not total disrespect. I can choose to do business elsewhere. With that being said I will continue to frequent CVS in Pleasant Valley for the near future but will go elsewhere if this happens again.

I'm very disappointed that I have to use CVS because of my insurance. I used to use this pharmacy by choice and because of one particular pharmacist with a gigantic attitude problem I can't believe they have any voluntary customers at all. I had my prescription unnecessarily delayed by 8 days because of the mishandling of and by one pharmacist who took it upon themselves to wait until the 31st day of a 30 day prescription to order something she knew they didn't carry and knew she needed to order. Why wait incase of problems? Some meds can't be abruptly stopped, like this one!Note: pharmacists should speak with their customers like they would speak to their parents!

I have spoken to Andrew 3 times today in the pharmacy. He has been amazing. I needed a prescription sent to the Saugerties CVS and he was so helpful. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the Saugerties CVS. If only I wasn’t an hour away I’d drive over for my prescription!!

Branch of CVS (does ANYbody know for what that stands, by the way?!) with drive-through pharmacy. Lots of seasonal items, toiletries and last-minute gifts (like the morning-after pill). Ice cream is sufficiently cold but overpriced. Though many reviews of this location criticize the staff, I found the staff passably professional. The parking lot is busy, so careful upon arrival and exit.

My doctor prescribed me a medication. I have getting this med for month’s on end with cvs. Today they tell me I cannot fill til the 31st day. My script expires on the 30th day. They did not care. I was just a number to them. The pharmasit could care less.

Kristen or Krista (can't remember the name) was extremely helpful! She was able to give me a discount on a prescription my mom really needed. Diabetic supplies are always so expensive. So I really appreciated the help!

This pharmacy is definitely the worst around! It is close to my house so I thought I would give it a try, big mistake!! Always a problem with my scripts, and when I ask for them to help fix things I get an attitude like it’s just not there problem when it 100% is. Go somewhere else because when it really matters they will totally drop the ball!! Don’t say I didn’t warn you...

Terrible service! We made appointments for flu shots, showed up 10 minutes before our appointment and were told they were out and they were giving the last one to someone who walked in before us. We are not happy and will never be back to this location. Do better!
