I stayed here In September 2023 while hiking the NPT. I didn’t get to take advantage of the various amenities on the property but I still recommend checking out the Inn if you’re looking for a place to stay around Piseco Lake. Jen, the Innkeeper, was very attentive to my questions. And what a talker! She’s got all sorts of stories. Breakfast hit the spot!

Wonderful camping stay for three grown siblings, and our families! We stayed august 26-28, with each family choosing their own accommodations: campsites, lodge room, or cabin. The cabin was a perfect bungalow with easy access to the campsites, and yet very cozy for sleeping after the campfire is put out. The photos on the website are very accurate! Perfect for glampers. My own family opted for a campsite, as did other family members. We loved it for us!Planning the trip was made easy by the abundance of options. There’s rooms in the lodge, private cabins, campsites by the beach, and then pretty rustic campsites that were a little bit too “off the grid” for us.The kids played pickle ball and tennis on the courts, played in the water, and on the beach, and the parents of the tweens in the group were very happy because there’s zero cell reception and Wi-Fi at the campsites. You have to walk up the hill to the lodge to get a signal. We sat and lay under the stars and talked, played, connected. What else could you ask for? by the end of the weekend we Were all very grateful for the lack of screen time, pings, and social media. We’re already planning to return next year.I don’t write reviews as often as I should. And if you’re reading this, and you book a room for next summer, maybe we won’t get the rooms we want! As it happens, we had the buffet breakfast on the same day as the family who left TWO one star reviews. We ate the same food, but had a very different experience. We enjoyed the pancakes, sausage, bacon, hash browns, fresh fruit salad, coffee, juice, toast, bagels, Real maple syrup… For $12 for adults and $6 for kids especially it was a great meal served by fine people. Maybe not everyone likes seasoning in their eggs (I do!), but the food was absolutely fine! The fruit salad was fresh, beautifully presented and the grapes were even cut in half!Give it a try! I’ll also add that I have NO affiliation with this inn besides having stayed here (paid full price) now a few times, and being annoyed that someone would leave two 1-star reviews because their eggs have seasoning in them.Safety: Very safe. For those who are concerned about bears etc. , you can bring your car to the beach campsite. The first time I camped here with my toddler son, i put our car right next to our tent as sort of a safety blanket :)Walkability: Between walking up to the lodge, around the campsites, to the cabins, and looking for kindling, you’ll get steps in staying here. And for those with mobility issues, you can drive between the lodge and the beach, so no climbing or walking is REQUIRED.

Breakfast price is right but quality is just not worth it. The scrambled eggs were prepared with an overabundance of spices (I believe rosemary, thyme, oregano) causing them to turn green. Nothing else was homemade; frozen hash brown patties like McDonald's; except not crispy, frozen round sausage patties, and I believe the pancakes may also have been frozen. A knife was required to cut the pancakes and the syrup was ice cold. Wait staff are lovely but sadly I tried the breakfast twice this summer and will not be back.

My favorite place to stay, hands down. Camping, the cabins or in the lodge, you can't go wrong.Nearby activities: Swimming, hiking, canoeing, fishing,

Went for the "big breakfast". It wasn't big, but they were kind enough to volunteer GF french toast instead of pancakes. Coffee was decent. Would've preferred fresh milk/cream. Very simple, but dark dining room. No real views of the beautiful lake below. Just trees and side yard. Meanwhile, the porch and dated, victorian front rooms with the view sat vacant. The food itself was underwhelming. It's always strange when your plate looks half empty upon delivery. For an honest $12, it was definitely acceptable, considering coffee was included.Since I've only been there once, there's a chance it was just an off day. Maybe some big events coming up that took their focus? Maybe they were shorthanded? Hard to say. It just felt really underwhelming and a bit lifeless. As a chef, I wanted so badly to get in that kitchen and whip up a breakfast like the one I expected after such enthusiasm. I wanted fluffy, thick-cut, buttery soft french toast with a golden crust and powdered sugar and maybe some fresh fruit. I wanted a nice pile of thick, crispy bacon. I wanted some snappy, spicy sausage links. I wanted some fresh, light, we'll seasoned scrambled eggs (without the white bits). Some piping hot coffee and fresh cream would've been incredible by themselves.Close, but no cigar. The place had the feel of an establishment neglected by corporate people more concerned with their own wealth enjoyment than providing an unforgettable experience for guests. It's a hidden gem, but it'll never be found until it does at least one thing really well. It a remote, lake community, I gotta think doing food well would go a long way to 'spreading the word' organically.I'm rooting for you Piseco Inn. The potential is there. You just gotta concentrate on quality, at least somewhere. Tweak your breakfast and make it truly AMAZING. That's my advice. I guarantee , a legitimate, amazing breakfast will soon turn into new Inn bookings, new lake customers and the notoriety you seek. Make it a food destination, then kill em with the views.Good luck.PS - Next time, I'll hope for a "big breakfast" or at least the buffet. Take care. Have a wonderful summer season.

If you want to experience the quintessential inn nestled between the Adirondack mountains with a beautiful NY lake sprawled out in front that would be Irondequoit Inn. From the moment I was emailing Innkeeper Jen to the moment I checked out was magical. When we arrived our hostess, Pam was more than accommodating with a smile and a positive attitude She made us feel like we were the only couple at the inn. The inn itself is rustic, quaint and beautiful It has an amazing wrap around porch with a beautiful view of Piseco Lake and the Adirondack mountains. We sat out by a beautiful fire and had an amazing night sleep We walked to the inn from our camper and had a hearty delicious breakfast made by Pam, she is quiet the renaissance woman at the Inn. Our food was served by the lovely Evie. After we ate we walked down the hill to the lake and grabbed a couple of kayaks and paddled out to the private island on the lake. We hiked around the island which like the Inn, has a history. I swam off the sandy shore of the island which was amazing. We sat in two Adirondack chairs on the hill overlooking the lake and sipped our champagne. We had two young bucks walk through our campsite, a tom turkey and his ladies, a bald eagle soaring overhead and a falcon right in the tree hunting feet from us. The second morning we woke up to hear a loon calling on the lake. I truly could go on and on. It was a great experience. It really is beautiful there. We did not want to leave and cannot wait to get back. Many thanks to everyone at the Irondequoit Inn for making our stay wonderful We will be back soon.Marcia and William Sullivan

We visited for a breakfast that was a Sunday “buffet”. The options were mixed fruit, hash brown patties, sausage patties, bacon, pancakes, and scrambled eggs.Every single one of the these options were questionable. The fruit was slimy and the eggs had a strange mix of seasoning that was just wrong. The hash browns were incredibly undercooked and soggy. The sausage was barely warm - not browned and maybe even more soggy than the hash brown patties. This meal should have been called “Slightly warmed up Sysco food from a bag”.

I cannot recommend the Inn enough as a serene place to stay right os Piseco Lake! Jen and her staff are EXTREMELY accommodating and helped us find some hidden gems nearby (like cliff jumping at Christine Falls!) The cabins are wonderful and offer anything you might need on your trip, but room 6 at the Inn just offers the most spectacular view of the lake! So much amazing wildlife from turtles laying eggs on the beach to spotting bald eagles on Pine Island! This is the place to be and we cannot wait to go back!

My son and daughter-in-law were married at the Irondequoit Inn on 7/3/21. The Inn itself is amazing and Celeste and her staff were very accommodating especially in the 11th hour when an outdoor ceremony had to be quickly moved indoors ( to a tent) due to pouring rain. The rooms are beautiful, the views amazing as well as great breakfast and appetizers during happy hour. I highly recommend the Inn for a large event as well as a quiet weekend. We will be back!

I am a hiker and this past stay was my second experience with this Inn. The first time I tried to stay, we met a couple on the porch and they had just arrived and said they were given a choice of rooms available. The staff looked at us and told us no rooms were available. The second time we actually got a room. During breakfast the waitress blatantly ignored us. We asked for syrup and it was never brought to our table, yet she offered the group next to us syrup immediately after our request. We are 52 year old women hikers. We do not party, we are not disrespectful and are respectful of places we stay so we do not leave a room filthy and dirty from our gear. I am appalled at the treatment we received from this establishment. They need to realize every customer deserves respect and I cannot believe this Inn thinks it is okay to treat paying guests in this way. If we were not desperate, I never would have tried to stay. I sincerely hope the staff reads this review and begins to treat all customers with respect. I do know many, many hikers go through this town and I will post about my experience at this “Inn”. They need to remember, one person’s bad experience gets shared with 5 people who then share with 5 others- the cardinal rule of customer service. And that was before Google, Facebook and internet reviews.

The historic inn is positioned on a hill overlooking Piseco Lake, with a nice porch where you can sit and enjoy the view. My guest room was clean and had been carefully modernized, keeping it true to the inn's character. The first floor is common space, inviting guests to socialize and make acquaintances. Included breakfast was delicious.

I go for Homeward Bound in the Adirondacks and this place is beyond beautiful and peaceful. Love going here.Rooms: Always clean, comfortable beds.Safety: It's in the middle of nowhere! How much more safe can one be?

They treat hikers very poorly. A few years ago we showed up and another guest was telling us how she got to look at and choose from several rooms that were available. Manager walked out, saw our packs, and told us they were full. No other option this year but this place, so we decided to give it another shot and made rezos over the phone. The desk lady was very kind and accommodating. Everyone else gave us the cold shoulder. At breakfast, the person taking orders offered the table next is us syrup, fruit and sugar for their oatmeal. They didn't mention any of that to us and when we asked for syrup, they simply never brought it. Refused to make eye contact as they took things to other tables and gave everyone else amazing customer service. We gave up and left, and they sneered at us while gushing at everyone else about how happy they were to have them there. For clarification, we are middle aged old women.... we don't "party", we were in bed before sundown, and we paid good money for that room. Seems we should have learned from our experience a few years ago.

The location was gorgeous. The view of the lake right outside was incredible and it even had a nice tennis court for my mother. The continental breakfast was great and the staff were all very nice. When I walked into my room, the first thing my father said was wow. Overall an incredible stay and I'm so glad I found it.

My family has been camping on the beach for over 30 years, never missed a week. My children are now bringing their children. The only problem is that it is privately owned and if the owners decide to have an event your reservation isn't honored and you can take another less convenient site away from the beach or go elsewhere, they really don't care which.

If you want a home away from home, this is it. The location is gorgeous, the place is well-maintained and clean, and the proprietors are heavily invested in making your experience here a good one. We were welcomed like old friends, and we had no questions about where to find any of the amenities after Mimi personally gave us the run-down on the place as she showed us to our campsite. I would highly recommend staying here, and I hope to stay here again soon.

We didn't stay at the Inn but went for dinner. It was the first night serving dinner before their regular chef was there. It was like great home made cooking! We'll definitely be going back. The Inn looks like a beautiful place to stay as well. Someone told me all the rooms were fine. The view if Piseco lake is amazing!!

We arrived late and were kindly greeted and quickly checked in. The room was just what we expected, small but quaint, clean and fresh. One weird thing, there was no soap or shampoo supplied. Lucky we had an old small bar of soap that saved us. We also forgot our toothbrushes and paste. We asked at the front desk to no avail. The good night's sleep found us rested and stunned by the amazing view of the lake. Breakfast was great, as was the coffee and service, and all was included up to $10, which was plenty.Everyone we met at the Inn seemed to have stayed there before, and it sure is a grand place.

We have been coming here for a few years now and each time things have improved more and more. We like it the way it is. No TV or phones in rooms, which is perfect. Internet access works good and the main building had been updated. You should stay away because it's nice and peaceful the way things are. But if you do come here you will like for what it is...a great place to relax!

We needed a place to stay late at night. The innkeeper came over to the inn and found us a room. He also opened the kitchen and got us a bottle of wine and a beer. Our room was recently remodeled--GREAT BATHROOM- and still smelled of new wood, it was heavenly. We sat on the lakefront and watched the full moon rise. In the morning we had a great breakfast. This is a wonderful gem in the middle of the adirondacks.

When I first came I was surprised to learn that it first opened in 1894. It is clear that they went through big renovations because everything looks brand new. The wifi is great, the beds are warm, rooms, and the showers are brand new. The prices are reasonable too. The beach has a swimming area (not deep at all), they also have kayaks and rowboats. Near the main building there is also a tennis court. In the center of the lake there is an protected area for eagles. Fun time looking at eagle nests.Another review says that they didn't have soap, but now it is obvious they fixed that.

Review of front desk and booking competency only. This company WILL NOT answer their phone. My girlfriend left them 4 different voicemails and sent an email before hearing back from their lazy, reluctant staff. We have been trying to reach them for months to look into room upgrades for the sake of comfort. Come to find out, the room we bought is for one person only, no guests allowed. This wasn't listed anywhere on the site when reserving the room. I've never encountered an Inn that ignored and neglected their business so thoroughly.

Impeccably clean, comfortable, beautiful accomodations. Everything we needed was there, the staff were courteous and unobtrusive, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. I went on a school trip and plan on taking my husband and young sons next spring.

We stayed for two nights in this lovingly renovated historic inn. The expansive property sits right on the edge of Lake Piseco, almost in the shadow of Panther My. Many amenities for families to enjoy; including swimming area, large beach, private island conservancy, SUP, canoes, campfire & outdoor bbq are, cabins, campground, tennis courts, kayaks and much more (paid for a la carte- no resort fee). WiFi was available, but spotty when we were there due to summer stores. There is so much to do in the surrounding hamlets and villages that you will rarely run out of entertainment, both cultural, intellectual and sportier, for your family. The NYC drive is approx 4-5 hrs. We recommend the Taconic State Parkway, scenic with no trucks as opposed to the NYS Thruway. Whatever you choose, get up there asap and enjoy a relaxing vacation this summer.

Beautiful, historic inn, cabins, and campgrounds. A bit basic - when things break they usually aren't replaced (like there used to be a ping pong table and a dock but they're gone). Still a stunningly beautiful, quiet spot.
