Every boys dream! What a great hands-on zoo! Super guided tour full of fun, education, and even a live turtle race. We had a great time. Liam, our guide, was great and patient with our boys. Liam's desire was to give our boys a fun time, and he did it well. Thanks Liam! Highly recommend!

Not ♿️ accessible. Old 1800s building, a few stairs & too small inside for a ♿️ to fit.7/14/23Must Pre-book a 90 minute guided tour. $12 each. 3 tours/day.3 'store front' rooms to visit with hands-on opportunities to hold some of the many various amphibians. Educational fun for kids & parents, too.Hard-working & Family-run, this rescue & care facility is really worth the visit!! They pack in (literally) every creature that needs a home & care, for many different reasons. Geckos, frogs, snakes, dragons, tarantulas, scorpions, lizards, turtles & tortoises, and a few birds, too. The kids REALLY enjoyed the experience. Thank you, Liam!

I wasn’t sure how the tour would go based on the outside, but it was a really well done tour. The guide was knowledgeable and gave lots of good information about all the animals we saw. We got to touch and hold snakes, lizards, and tortoises, but the guide was also sensitive to anyone who was more cautious or nervous about being so close to the critters. They also do some great rescue work!! Definitely worth it to go on the tour and visit!

We started going to Prehistoric World within the last year and our boys love it. The annual membership is more than worth it, and we've been to a lot of places, but NOWHERE else will give you the hands on experience that you'll get here.We decided to also book them for our son's 7th birthday party, and it was, far and away, the best party event we've ever had. Crystal took some requests on what to bring but also chose some lovely surprises, she's great with the kids, entertaining but also educational. One little boy started out nervous, and by the end she had a lizard doing his hair! This whole business isa family effort, and the care and commitment they have for their animals is obvious. Highly recommend for a visit or an event!!

What a great experience. Tucked away in a small town, so we werent quite sure what to expect but the experience was very interactive and educational. The kids got to interact with and touch many different reptiles and they couldn’t stop talking about it. Definitely a great experience for kids who love reptiles!

So I do have a few negatives, I'll start with those-rI truly wish that prehistoric zoo had a full size venue rather than being cooped up and scattered in small buildings. This makes it very hard for families like mine (6 people) to walk around if anyone else is inside, and borderline dangerous for the under 5 crowd. There's certainly no way a stroller or wagon could get through so I'm glad to have taken my baby carrier instead. The materials used to make some of the enclosures are rough, which is unfortunate with youngsters who touch every and anything- or for parents unfortunate enough to be pushed into them. I ended up with a splinter and slight irritation from building 3.HOWEVER, none of this is the fault of the owner or staff!!! I can't imagine the costs associated with housing all of these animals, and I do not blame them for utilizing the space they have to it's full capacity. The animals are so very well cared for, they are in seemingly good health and have proper enclosures. We absolutely loved getting to interact with so many animals we rarely get to experience!Beyond that, the staff is absolutely phenomenal. You could not ask for more attentive individuals. While there we met and spoke at length with Ian and Liam, who knew so much about the animals themselves, the species, their environments, etc. They were both unwaveringly patient with my kids and all of their questions. They allowed my toddler to interact with our assistance. Genuinely could not have asked for more!

I brought my neurospicy 16 year old today, and he hasn't stopped smiling. The guide was cheerful, engaging, and knowledgeable. Super patient with the littles that wanted to hold the animals, and then promptly freaked out lol. All of the creatures were in clean, large cages, and appeared healthy and happy. The ones that were brought out to be held were sweet and calm.I love that the tours are booked in small groups, so everyone can see everything, ask questions, and get to hold/pet the animals without feeling rushed. We drove from Rochester, and it was absolutely worth it - I've paid way more for much less as far as family activities. We'll definitely be back.

We just visited today with our 2 and 4 year old. They really enjoyed seeing (and touching some) the different types of reptiles, amphibians and arachnids (and a prairie dog!). The family that owns the business was wonderful and friendly and provided lots of information about each animal. You can tell that a lot of love and thought went into this place! My kids also enjoyed seeing the large collection of toy dinosaurs that decorated the museum. All of the tanks were beautifully decorated and labeled, but some of the labels were difficult to read while some were printed nicely with large lettering. It was a nice, easy drive from the Rochester area and Covid precautions were followed in the museum and it was not crowded, so we felt safe. Overall, I highly recommend this place for animal lovers of all ages!

Amazing place! Extremely knowledgeable staff! I could have spent all day there! If you like lizards, snakes, tortoises, etc. This is the place to go! It is not a pet store! It is more like a petting zoo / rescue! Keep up the great work!! I will be back again!!

This was a amazing place to take your kids on adventure. Seth was really great about explaining all the animals and answering questions. We loved all the jokes and how much time he took to pay attention to what the kids were saying. You can tell how much they care for these animals and all the work they put in to the exhibit. You will have to walk in between buildings and there is not much room in the pathway between displays. We all very much enjoyed feeling kinda immursed in all the interesting decor mixed in.

Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The kids loved handling the reptiles. There are three doors. If you don't see someone in building A during regular hours, keep looking, as they may be caring for the animals in the other buildings instead of sitting in the office.

Awesome place, the staff/guides were good people and they were very patient and great with the younger kids in the group including my own who can be quite rambunctious. Well worth the small admission price, the animals on display and dozens of surrenders thrown at them looked very well cared for . We will be back.

Nice place. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. On street parking. On the smaller side but surprisingly quite a bit to see.

This was a fantastic place. I have three little boys ranging from 2-7, and they LOVED IT!!! The proprietor clearly cares for his animals and employs very friendly, very knowledgeable young people with a passion for reptiles. They were friendly, kind, good with kids- we were able to pet a wide array of reptiles, and all boys loved it (even my more squeamish one). There are a lot of animals to behold, but it isn't overwhelming. There are some rare gems in there, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I can't give it enough stars. It really is a must see- even if you don't have kids :-)

We made the trip to see the reptiles today and it was amazing. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. There is so much to see and do. They let you hold and touch almost all of the animals. Some restrictions obviously. My 6 yr old boys thought it was so cool and my fiance even held a youth ball python. We had a great time and will definitely be returning. Fun for all ages and very informational.
