I’ve been bringing my pets to Pearl River Animal Hospital for more years than I can count.Right now I have 2 dogs and a cat.Dr Stenzler, Dr Barnett, and all the staff there are all animal lovers! Very knowledgeable, kind, and professional but not stuffy.We just got our puppy 9 month old spayed.She is doing great!I highly recommend Pearl River Animal Hospital!Amy Bach

I have been using them for 10 years and they are very accommodating. They care for your pet and you keeping you well informed about your pet's needs and health. Just saw Dr. Lisa Barnett because my dog had an incident involving his paw. She was extremely careful in the exam as well as taking tests to be sure that an infection didn't spread throughout his body. Follow up call the next day as well as checking to see how he was doing with the medication and cleanup procedure performed the previous day. I am still very satisfied with all the care that Pearl River Animal Hospital provides for my dog and I am sure that others feel that way also.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience at the Pearl River Animal Hospital. I recently took my young dog here for a two-round shot to protect against Lyme disease. The first visit was not the greatest. The staff did not seem to care for my dog at all, and rather treated the practice more like a tight-run business than animal care facility. The second visit was similar. Before consulting us on an ear exam, the doctor went ahead and did an ear cleaning and testing that ended up running up our bill - all for something we could have done ourselves at home. When we expressed that we would prefer to know the pricing before service during next visit, the vet and billing lady got defensive and rude and questioned us on if we asked for list of prices at our own primary care doctor… We just wanted to know the price of the ear exam in the first place.Overall, after the level of service we received today we will not be going back.

Dr. Anton Stenzler has had his practice at Pearl River Animal Hospital for close to five decades. I am fairly sure that my parents, with our Boston Terriers that I grew up with from birth, have been clients for almost that long. I am so pleased that his daughter, Dr. Diane Stenzler, has followed in his footsteps. The entire staff is wonderful. They have always gone above and beyond in my opinion. As for the bad reviews, sometimes people don't want to hear the truth. Doctors S, B and Di are always honest. It is always in the best interest of your beloved pet. Over the years of having many cats and a few dogs, I have chosen to go to other veterinarians, only because my home is not that close to the Pearl River area or when I needed a specialist and the vets at Pearl River Animal Hospital recommended that I do so. Dr. Di's solution for feline and canine ear infections is fantastic. My parents and I can attest that this "concoction" or "cocktail" has always resolved the issue quickly.Both my parents and I travel past (most likely) a dozen other options to have dogs under the care of this animal hospital. We love our pets and want what we know to be the best we have found to care for our animals.

The staff at Pearl River Animal Hospital has been wonderful to us and our dog. My dog is turning 10, and has received excellent care here since I first brought him home as a puppy. They are very accommodating, and truly care about us. I wouldn't bring a pet anywhere else.

My cat Rocky was seriously injured needing drains inserted under anesthesia. I am so glad I took Rocky to Pearl River Animal Hospital. He got excellent care and is healing nicely. I’ll definitely continue taking Rocky here.

Dr Diane is absolutely terrible. I would not recommend anyone bring their pet to this woman. We brought our 5 month old puppy for a visit /check up and immediately were told by her "something's wrong with this dog"Fast forward to results of bloodwork- everything is fine. I can't believe the manner in which my husband and I were treated by this disgrace of a vet. We are no longer going here and have switched to another vet.On the flip side her father is wonderful! But unfortunately the way we were treated by his tool bag of a daughter we are Not going back!!If I could give zero stars I would.

Just got a new cat from a shelter after many years of no cats. Dr. Stenzler father and Dr. Stenzler daughter took excellent care of my prior cats for decades so naturally I brought my new kitty here again even though it's a half hour drive for me now. I can't say enough nice things about Pearl River Animal Hospital and wouldn't even think of going elsewhere for routine care. The vet answered all my questions and even gave me tips on how to staet brushing my cats teeth (start with butter- who knew?!). Excellent and compassionate care as always.

I called Pearl River Animal hospital as I was heading up from the city and noticed my poor kitten had gone in her carrier and there were worms everywhere. I panicked and called them immediately after googling and noticed their great reviews. They told me to come right in and they were so sweet and friendly. I 100% would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy animal hospital!

Pearl River Animal Hospital cares so deeply about the pets they care for. When our cat had a seizure suddenly, we called Dr. Stenzler and even though his office was closed, he insisted we bring him in. Dr. Stenzler examined him, identified it was a neurological issue, and immediately sent us to a specialist. We were never charged for the visit, and a phone call came a few days later—Dr. Stenzler wanted to know how our cat was. Sadly our cat had passed, and soon after we received a condolence card in the mail.When we heard of Dr. Stenzler’s passing, our hearts broke. There are countless animals who are alive and health because of him, families who kept their beloved companions for years and years of happiness and love. And for the animals he couldn’t save, Dr. Stenzler gave us the peace of mind of knowing we did all we could, and everyone did their absolute best for the little boy cat we loved so dearly.Our hearts go out to the Stenzler family, and the greater Pearl River Animal Hospital family. Dr. Stenzler was a good, decent, kind man, who always found room in his heart for our beloved pets.

I had an emergency and Pearl River Animal Hospital took me right away. I had gone gone to my Vet originally, he misdiagnosed her. Upon calling him back, I found he went on vacation.Thank you PRAH for taking us in and getting my doggie healthy!! They have earned my business for life.Great staff.

In the past four years, I have found the doctors and the staff at Pearl River Animal Hospital to be knowledgable and compassionate. Scheduling an appt was never a problem and in one emergency instance was even seen on a Sunday. After an emergency situation, Dr. Diane Stenzler followed up with me and I will always apprecitate her kindness and concern. Highly recommended!

I wouldn't recommend taking your dogs/ puppies to this hospital that is a ripoff and shows no help . The doctor seemed she didn't know how to help a dog. My dog , Boo , was suffering from pain , so me and my family members rushed to take her to the nearest animal hospital. Before , I tried calling to the hospital but after answering the phone the front desk assistant hang up the phone on me . So we rushed to the hospital without a call. After arriving my mom has explained that, Boo is in pain and that she is crying , not eating nor drinking , nor being active as she is usually . My mom has mentioned that she has pain in her stomach area. The doctor has done blood test and afterwards said that there is noting wrong with Boo, and that she's good to go home . So for a blood test my mom has been charged $375.00. We trusted the doctor and brought her back home after 2 days Boo still did not recover, she was feeling even worse ... so I took her back to the hospital and told the doctor that she isn't feeling well and there MUST BE something wrong . I asked the Doctor to help us find out what's wrong with Boo. She did x-rays then told us that there is a bone in her chest and that she doesn't know how to help Boo. So we got charged another $340.00 for the X-rays. After we took Boo to the emergency Oradell Animal Hospital and the doctors told us that those X-rays taken in Pearl River Animal Hospital aren't clear and that they have to retake them. After retaking the X-rays they told us Boo has a bone in her throat that has created many health issues for her.Also , Oradell Hospital doctors said they need to retake the blood test ... after retaking the blood test they found out there was an inflammation / infection that has started . This information would be very helpful if since the day 1 Pearl river animal hospital would have informed us. We wasted time and money in this hospital that didn't help us to give help my beautiful 3 years old dog. We trusted Pearl river animal hospital and lost our time to give Boo help. In Oradell Boo' s condition got worst since it was late to help her . The Infection spread in her blood and she couldn't breathe and there was fluids in her lungs due to this we lost our dog yesterday. Me and my family are in such a big pain, that we were unable to help Boo and that we wasted time in pearl river animal hospital without receiving help . I would strongly not suggest you to take your puppies to this hospital since they show no professional help.

Took my poor 10 year old pooch there for two issues that weren't getting better under my other vet's care. Dr. Diane spent a lot of time with us and recognized a previously undiagnosed issue that was the underlying cause of one of the two problems. Wish I had come to her much earlier. Sigh.....

They put my dog to sleep over a year ago. Yet they continue to contact me telling me it's time for her annual checkup or something else. They always reference the dead dog by name in their emails, so it's not just a generic spam email.I wish they'd just leave me alone.

This was my third time bringing my 5 month old puppy for her shots. On the previous two occassions my puppy was treated by Dr. Anton Stenzler and I was obsolutely thrilled with his care and affection he gave Sandie. On this Saturday Sandie was treated by Dr.Diane Stenzler to my dismay. She has the personality of a snail. She appeared at the exam room door with this horrified look on her face and waving her hands staying "Oh, no there a problem here, oh no does anyone here smoke?" I informed her I did and she said he was allgeric and would be coughing and sneezing all over the place. This was done in front of her staff. I told her I would step out of the examing room and leave my brother w/Sandie. I did not smoke in her facility so am really curious how she is allgeric to a "SMELL". She later tried speaking to me in the waiting room w/other individuals present from a football field away. I was totally embrased and taken a back. I also found out from my brother that Dr.Stenzler decided to take Sandie out of the exam room to some back to exam her. I don't think I will be going back there. All I have to say is Dr. D.Stenzler has a lot of learning to do when it come to have a little "bed side" manner so her clients don't keep walking out the door... In my opinion what Dr.D.Stenzler should have done was to ask Dr. Anton to see Sandie if it was such a problem for her and not to make a such a scene.

This place is awful in my opinion.. It takes advantage of people at their most vulnerable moments, when they will spend anything to save their pet. One overnight and trip to emergency, $2,600 and we'll do what we can to save your pet. The chemo was literally poisoning my little dog and yet they continued with the treatment. Running around eating, and playing on Thurs and after Chemo Friday, gone on Wed. Get a second opinion before you trust these criminals
