The Palmyra Country Max is a great location. Always well stocked and helpful, friendly employees. It is rare for it to be crowded, so I always feel comfortable stopping in for my pet and gardening needs.

After calling everywhere local to me, I could not find anywhere that had ferrets. So I broadened my search a little wider and countrymax in Palmyra had 2. As I said previously I am not local to Palmyra. I asked the young lady on the phone if she would hold them for me until I could get there. She kindly obliged. About an hour later I get there. She was very kind and polite. I didn't catch her name but she was very young looking. Thank you for helping us add an addition to our family. I've never had a bad experience with any countrymax but this one is one I'll never forget.

If I could rate 0 stars, I would.I've bought 3 birds from here about 5 months ago. And one passed away about a month or a half ago. I knew it wasn't a very good place, but I only needed to get some pellets today. But never again will I make a purchase from Palmyra Country Max ever again. Everything was so dusty when I went to pick out a few toys which means there's so much dust in the air there that the animals are breathing in. There was dust on the cage with a Canary. And there was an extremely terrified Cocktiel (picture included). Not okay. (I wish I had taken photos of the budgies and all of the dust). And the workers kept walking past my Dad and I over and over and over again. And when we went to leave I got a few dirty looks because I was super quietly explaining to my dad that the animals there weren't okay. Then I was asked before I walked to the register "Are you looking for something" and I simply shook my head and kept walking. The workers do not take care of their animals properly. Many, many budgies placed in two small cages with only one super small feeder which they fight over because birds don't eat one at a time. If you live in the area, I highly recommend the Country Max in Farmington where as you walk in you can see how well the workers are with their animals. They interact with them and talk to them so much. There was a baby ferret who's brother was adopted so she was lonely and the workers made sure that she was played with and socialized and happy and they are extremely pet friendly there. So if you're looking for a good place to go, Farmington Country Max is amazing. And highly educated on their animals.UPDATE: Still 1 star. Their lovebird today was only in there for 2 hours and his cage was SUPER full of dust. (Photo included)

Highly hate countrymax in Palmyra me and my boyfriend bought worms. There's litterly no worms in the container. Highly suggest not going anymore.

This is the worst Countrymax around. It’s disgusting inside and they aren’t educated about anything. The staff is actually horrendous on their knowledge of aquariums. The several dead fish floating in their tanks should’ve been an indicator that they aren’t healthy and don’t know what they’re doing. I bought a $20 fish and within 36hrs it was dead. I couldn’t get store credit because it wasn’t within 24hrs.. I said it was my birthday and I wasn’t cancelling my birthday plans to run 2 towns over to exchange a fish. I brought pictures and receipts and it still didn’t matter. I voiced that no one should ever buy an expensive fish or anything living that costs more than $5 from there because it will just die and they won’t do anything about it. I’ve never had as many issues with a country max as I have this one. Just avoid this place. It’s worth the further drive to Fairport or Farmington.

Poor Customer Relationship Practice!!A few months ago I purchased some lawn fertilizer at Country Max. I noticed that the amount charged looked like an error. I had a “coupon” which offered $4.00 off each bag of fertilizer, however this was not applied to my purchase. When I inquired about this, a manager came out to the register. She looked at the ad which I brought, and indicated that the “sale” did not begin until the next day...so rather than having to request a refund and return to the store the next day to Re-purchase the fertilizer and get the $4.00 off, and not wanting to make another trip to the store again, I walked away from her (the manager)...thinking that she would stop me and offer me the sale price, resulting in “a happy customer”, she let me walk! She saw that I was visibly upset but let me leave the store anyway. Well, I trust that it was worth $4.00 and loose a customer. I haven’t been back to the store since. I do support the local business community, however if a store manager cares so little about providing good customer relationships, then I will need to do business with the big box store. Sorry Country Max... hope this is something you can improve upon!

Great store for propane refills. The price is better than most and the service is fantastic. They have a good selection of yard work tools that may cost a little more than Walmart but they are solid tools that won't break on you. Awesome selection of pet foods and animal bedding at a reasonable price.

The store is set up very very oddly. The aquarium equipment is spread out, in many different aisles and shelves, mixed in with other areas. They had fish incorrectly labeled. "Not all cichlids are the same." They come from two different continents. It isn't good to mix the two together. There wasn't anyone in the store at the time I visited that had any type of knowledge of fish. This was not a great visit

If I could give this place 0 stars I would but that isn't possible. Customer service is awful. The staff is horribly rude the place is unclean, animals are very poorly kept. My cousin used to work there and was overly relieved when she left. The management there is not good they are terrible to the staff there. If you're a customer or staff It doesn't matter you'll get treated poorly. I do not recommend visiting this location.

One of the best experiences of my life. Star employee/future owner Robert Geer not only saved the life of all of my pet Hedgehog Mr. Stelvinson, he also graciously explained to me that I should not expect him to be running at super sonic speeds. What a life changing experience!

I don't know how this place has the rating it does. I'm a big animal person and I just got myself a baby bearded dragon from a breeder and went to get some supplies for my little Romeo and they have no idea what they are doing or what they are talking about. They give the wrong information and when I asked about things they looked at me like I was stupid. If you're gonna work in a pet store know what you're talking about and have some knowledge of the animals you're taking care of. One of the employees admitted they get their animals from a pet supply company and if you don't know why this is bad, take a moment to look it up. I was so furious when I went to look at the dragons and they were smaller than the week before. This is a sad excuse for a pet store and I wanted so badly to just take both dragons because they were not healthy.

CountryMax is filled with all items needed for your country home or farm. They are our go-to place for bird seed, chicken feed, along with dog and cat food. If they don't have it, just ask. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

They have decent prices but beware products that are marked down. They have been there for a while. I had a ratchet strap break just taking it out of the packaging it was so dry rotted from sitting.

I put minnow from them today lost more then half of them due to the water being cloudy. The water is so cloudy you couldn't even see them In there little pond thing. Wouldn't recommend buying minnows from them.

A little small compared to other ones but this is by far my favorite. After having a horrible experience with the Seneca Falls and Farmington countrymax these people were a breath of fresh air. They are all so nice and we are always asked if we need anything...we don't have to search for someone. Never have had a bad experience here and this will be my go-to countrymax from now on.
