Stopped in this evening with my son after his track practice, decided to try the French Dip since I hadn't had it there in years. I specifically asked the waitress if the sandwich was served on a proper sub roll or on a hamburger bun like I had the first time - she checked with the cook and came back telling me he said it was on a sub roll. Our plates were brought in a timely fashion and my "French Dip" was on a hamburger bun. If there were two sandwiches there to make up for the bun, fine - but for the price you pay, that is sad. No reason to ever dine at this restaurant ever again.The waitress was very nice, tried to be very helpful and was not at fault for the bad information given to her by the cook.

We love this place. A top spot for breakfast. This morning we ordered 2 hungryman breakfasts with blueberries in the pancakes, a western omelet, and French toast and pancakes. AMAZING! The hot coffee kept coming. There were a bunch of berries in the pancakes (I hate it when you only get 10 berries...). Everyone loved the food. The restrooms and restaurant were clean. The staff was amazing. As I said before...I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend. Updated April 19.This place was recommended to me by a friend. It's clean. The staff is polite and friendly. The food is amazing. Try the Belgian Waffles... The coffee keeps coming. The town of Oxford is so cute...I could spend the whole day there. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.

My kids and I walked by during our 4clsroadtrip. What a wonderful surprise. We just saw the ice cream sign and came in for a few scoops. I ended up having an awesome time enjoying my soft serve and fun conversations with the owners daughter. My kids enjoyed their ice cream, and I loved the twist soft serve. The texture of the chocolate in the twist was different from any other soft serve I'd ever had (in a very good way). We'll be back most likely to have more ice cream and cool conversations again. If you have some to relax and could use some mild activities, I highly recommend a trip to Hoppies.Parking: We parked else where and walked to Hoppies, and there were free public parking right in front of it.

The waitress was exceptionally nice and managed to strike up interesting conversation whilst still remembering our orders to a T. The food tasted good and the restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere. They served us fast and I was surprised at how great the quality was with the lack of patrons. If you are in the area and looking for something to eat I highly recommend Hoppies diner

A very comfortable place, welcoming and cheerful. Sitting at the counter on a sunny Sunday morning I feel transported back to a simpler time and place. Hoppie's is quite charming.

Great place to stop by and get food. It has a retro kind of feel. Food was extremely fast. Like less than 5 minutes. You definitely get value for your money here. Atleast for the omelettesNOTE: They charge a 4% fee on credit cards. I did not see any signs in the store indicating this before I paid. 4 stars for the lack of notice

The food was good but it took almost an hour to get our food then a friend of mine went here a few days after me and the waitress told her that both times I was in there i didn’t leave her a tip well the first time i had 6 people total my bill came to over 80 dollars I left her 9.00 bucks then the second time there was only 3 of us got just a burger and 2 kids got a ice cream my bill was 40 bucks I left her 6.00 bucks I personally feel I left her a sufficient amount for a tip especially seeing to the fact the first time it took over an hour to get our food and they weren’t busy and the second time mine and one other person out of 3 burgers were so over cooked they were literally crunchy I feel I left more than enough money she’s lucky she even got what she got the next time I go there she won’t be getting a tip at all so i hope she enjoyed running her mouth cause all it did was cost her a tip

A delightful ol' "luncheonette" in the center of town. The grilled cheese was to die for (we paid extra for the addition of tomato and bacon), as we're the onion rings. The burger was over done for our liking and rather small, so order the "double" and consider a doneness one step less than usual. The server was kind and efficient. A nice experience.

Hometown restaurant with history into my youth. I try to stop often when in the area. Yesterday was for a very refreshing ice cream cone (small size is 2 scoops, well worth the $3, plus supporting local business!) Has retro 60s design, reminiscent of my younger days. Very attentive efficient waitress.

It's a very nice retro style place, And is extremely clean. Which is awesome to see. Ice cream is good and a great size. I was not able to try out the actual food but I probably will in the near future. Hopefully I'll be able to go from 4 to 5 stars fingers crossed.

Go somewhere else..Tried this place last year in sept. Waited 45 mins after getting our drinks to find out the waitress never put our order in. (We had to ask what the issue was, as no one cared to come check on us, the ONLY table left, the waitress must of been hiding in the back)Gave it a second chance today and was told it was an hour wait for food. (There were maybe 6 tables, all with no food)Needless to say we went to The Stadium, and after our lunch there we saw the same people at Hoppies had JUST gotten their food. Hope it was worth the wait.We will never try this place again. Not impressed the first time around by being ignored and never once did a manager or owner reach out. I tell everyone to stay away.

Coming out of the Adirondacks (near Old Forge) and wanting a coffee and baked item, not wanting to stop at a chain: we had friendly service, good coffee and an excellent brownie. Really nice sunny dining space, next time we will stay for breakfast!

We visit my father in the Oxford Veterans Home and go to Hoppies because it’s convenient. After a few lunches we realized we had consistently good food and great service, not just convenience. Hoppies is a perfect reflection of small town America East. Their sandwiches are ample and they have the most delicious cheesecake ever.I give them 5 stars because even though they aren’t a gourmet restaurant, they are the best they can be for a small town, long established, friendly local diner.

Awesome lunch. Turkey sandwich on rye was delightful. My husband had the blackened chicken sandwich with French fries. It was perfect. We eat in restaurants all over New York State while traveling and we would place this restaurant in the top three. We will be patronizing them on a regular basis. Five star.
