Need help with a Stihl string trimmer I purchased there 11 years earlier. I stopped using it a long time ago and couldn’t remember how to load the string. I asked for a Stihl representative just like they use to have when I originally purchased it. I was told all the employees are knowledgeable about their products. I need someone to show me how to do it, i even brought the trimmer in the store. The employee that help me didn’t seem very knowledgeable about the trimmer and only provided basic verbal instructions that didn’t help me in the least.

The hardware store is really great - folks are friendly and helpful - that side of the house is A+ The small engine shop on the other hand is filled with rude guys who are terrible at customer service. Every experience I have had with that group has been bad. They act like you’re a pain for brining your mower there and god forbid you need some expedited service. They firmly put you in your place. They define give the impression that they’re doing you a huge favor by taking on your job. Anyway, I go somewhere else now to have my mower fixed.

I had a older basement window that needed the single pane glass repaired. I dropped it off on 4/22/19. After waiting weeks with no communication we called and were told they only have ONE guy that does the screens and Windows but he was sick.. So fine right, no problem.. I understand that.. A few more weeks went by and we called again. The person we spoke with said they were going to put the window on top of the pile and make it a priority. My wife called two days ago on 6/8/2019 and was told we were going to get a call back - we never got any such call. Today I called and bluntly asked what's the deal with the window and when can we expect it done since its been almost TWO MONTHS! The gentlemen on the phone came back on the call after checking in with the window guy and he told me to come and pick it up, the ONE employee is too busy and the window is in rough shape / its too complicated of a job!!! Mind you they have had this window in their possession for weeks upon weeks and just now almost two months later they don't want to deal with it.. Freaking unbelievable! I try and support local businesses and stop in frequently instead of going to Lowe's or home depot for small things but.. No more.. You guys are ridiculous, you've wasted weeks of my time and patience. My family will be driving the extra 10 mins to the big box stores where they will happily accept my money and give me the customer service I expect.

I recently ordered Weber grill from this store. Kathryn couldn't have been more helpful and they had very color of this grill in stock. The grill was assembled and delivered in perfect condition. After this exemplary customer service I will never deal with the big box stores again.

I came in later in the day shortly before closing. The gentleman working stayed well past closing time to ensure I got what I needed. Unbelievably helpful and thoughtful customer service that just cant be found at a large retailer. This employee is a great example of why local companies and small businesses are the place to shop for great service. Thank You for your help!

Greg from service called this morning to follow up - advised he would put the carburetor back together - he better than assembled it, he put a new one on with new lines - complete repair -like new - could not ask for better service - bought some stihl motomix and polycut blades before I left - I will be getting all parts and equipment from Arthur's - they stand behind their work/service!! Thank you!!

Great little hardware store. They carry everything you could ever want to take care a problem , shovels, tarps, paddle locks, chain(in long lengths). They don’t blink an eye at special requests. They also fix small engines (including chainsaws). I highly recommend

Skip the big box places and come get home town service. I shop here every weekend buying something I'll need no matter what my project. They sell Weber grills, Stihl tools, Benjamin Moore paint and everything else you need. I have been coming here for over 35 years and they are second to none. I know people that come from Rochester to come here. A must stop. By far the best hardware store.

I started my experience with their service dept. They gave me bad news on one piece of equiptment. Fixed the salvageable unit up promptly and affordably. Very happy with their service. Needed some help in the store and the staff their was great as well. I'll be back. Highly recommend them!

Arthur's is great! I go out of my way to go to Arthur's versus the bigger box stores. What I like:- Have a wide variety of items- Most items are high quality (fastener's, sump pumps, lawn equipment, just to name a few), but you can get the cheap disposable stuff if you want/need (a cheap paint roller for example).- They are a Stihl and Toro dealer. I purchased a Stihl chainsaw from Gerry, who was knowledgeable and the service was great.- I have been told the small engine repair department is top notch, with a good selection.- Staff has always been knowledgeable and friendly.My only negative comment is that I have found their prices to be a bit higher than elsewhere. I ended up purchasing a new sump pump from the web, since it saved me $30 over Arthurs price ($130 pump from Amazon). However, I am willing to tolerate a slight price premium for most things, since the service is good and the stuff is generally high quality.Don't hesitate to go to Arthur's!

Great old school hardware store with knowing staff and good selection. Had what I was looking for and answered all the questions I had about it. Also helped me set it up and showed me how to run it. Made sure it was working before I left. This is service you don't get at the big box stores.

I was looking for a Toro V-belt for a snowblower. Called the small engine service shop 5 times throughout the day about 30-45 min apart, but I could not get anyone to pick up the phone. The recording says to leave a message and someone will call you back, so I tried that too, and no one ever called back. I then called a 6th time to the main office and politely asked the operator if they could get someone from the main store to go over to the service shop, which is about 50 feet away, and see if they have the part in stock. Judging by the reaction I got, you'd have thought I asked her to have someone commit a felony. I don't know what excellent service other people speak of - maybe that's in-person only, because their phone service is completely non-existent. I'm going to stick to Saville's or Fox Equipment from now on. It stinks because I'm closer to Arthur's, but I never had a problem with no one answering the phone at Saville's or Fox.

Walked into service/parts dept. for simple Briggs & Stratton part and was treated rudely.It was apparently 8 minutes before closing on a Saturday and was told to come back Monday. This would not have been an issue for me, but I was treated rudely for no reason.

I went to several different stores trying to get help figuring out how to lock up a washer and dryer and I went into the store and a Jerry Messner helped me he was amazing he spent so much time with me and helped me understand everything it was a wonderful experience

Recent purchase of a Stihl 2 cycle roto tiller was most rewarding, to leave the store knowing how to start the machine due to experienced staff taking the time to start the tiller. Recommend for light gardening.
