I booked a room for my in-laws the night of my wedding (April 11). I've had limited but good experiences with Marriott branded hotels, so I felt comfortable getting this room for my future family. I was just told by my in-laws that the room smelled strongly like cigarettes and the sink was leaking/dripping water in the room. I'm truly embarassed that this is the quality of room that I had booked for them. Apparently they went to the front desk, but the desk couldn't get them another room. The hotel desk offered them 2,000 Marriott points because they "had a rewards account", but that isn't possible because I'm the one who booked for them. I don't see the points in my account. I had planned to book primarily with Marriott to accrue points moving forward, but I'm truly disappointed by this level of room/service. If this is the standard, I do not plan on booking with Marriott again.

Our flight arrived early in the morning about 4 hours before getting the rooms and the woman at the desk told us we could have breakfast and coffee without asking for extra money for it.The food was varied and delicious (there are no vegetables at breakfast but it doesn't bother me).The staff is very kind and helpful.The rooms are large and equipped, there was nothing missing in the room and there are even several USB sockets next to the bed so you don't have to worry about an American charger.I will definitely be back again in the future.

The rooms were great and very comfortable. My only complaint is how large everything looks in the photos online/in reviews compared to in person; The pool and fitness area are both TINY. I was flabbergasted. Overall a great experience, they allowed me to check in early as my room was ready early, and the staff was very friendly. I give service a 4 due to the pool and fitness area being a service I use. Who wants to use a pool like that when there are kids "terrorizing" (having fun) in the pool when it's almost a personal size pool? 🤣 No one, that's who

Pros: Friendly staff, easy check-in, breakfast buffet (although both mornings they were out of scrambled eggs and only had scrambled egg whites left), close to super market and Lowe’s, comfortable beds, hot water for showering. Roomy.Cons: Smoke smell come through our vents on night one. Day two, we left the hotel and returned about 12 hours later. We opened the door and were knocked down by the smell of marijuana in the kitchen area and cigarette smoke in the bedroom. It was so strong and sickening. We went to the front desk and they sent maintenance with an air purifier which did help. But it seemed someone had access to our room while we were gone and had smoked the whole place up or the people in the room next door could have been smoking but that doesn’t explain the two different smells in the different rooms. We were happy to be checking out the next day.

Room walls and floors are thin you can hear people walking upstairs loud thumps! Cigarette and weed can be smelled from room. Very noisy and no consideration what so ever 129 rooms and they put people in the same rooms on top of each other and do not care about smoke smell! When I complain nothing is done about it. The rooms are clean. Every hotel needs EV chargers in NYS there are many subsides they will help pay for their installation and why not solar canopy’s covering the expanse of the baking parking lots? Marriott could be the leader in sustainable hotels if they so choose. The Continental breakfast is very simple and choices have become less interesting over the years. The coffee here is a bit overly strong. A cappuccino machine would be a nice touch as is with the element hotels. The $175 per night price tag seems a bit high for what is provided. Our rooms were missing glasses but I suspect they were pilfered and the hotel has no incentive to replace them. Otherwise fairly clean save the dog vomit in the stairwell. The staff seemed to show concern however nothing was done about it. We have been staying at the element however the prices seem to increase monthly so we reverted to the residence inn. There advantages and disadvantages of both. The element has a fresh made breakfast option which is very nice. Both are part of the Marriott group.

I was given a dirty room with no towels. Bad start. They did bring the towels pretty quickly. They cleaned the room the next day but then left me with no soap. Seems like the housekeeping staff needs more training. Once I called to report that, they responded quickly. Though I appreciate the good service, those are pretty simple mistakes that shouldn't happen at a hotel.There's breakfast every morning which is a plus. Also plenty of parking. This could've been 2 stars but the responsiveness to issues boosted the score an extra star. Without those mishaps, 4 stars. Room for improvement.

I called to book a few weeks ago for this past weekend and the lady on the phone(I’m assuming was kinda new) couldn’t even give me a price on the phone. Told me to calculate it myself. It was noted in our account that we were asking to check in pretty early as we were taking the red eye in and that we would be calling as we got closer to make sure. Called about an hour before we were planning on arriving to just be told “yeah no we had a full night and check out is 11am, so maybe by 12:30pm”. Okay no big deal but kinda disappointed as it was noted numerous times. Check in was smooth and glad we were able to at least check in around 1:30pm. We did ask that housekeeping come after 1pm on Sunday, the lady noted it in our account. Room was clean and a good size. Had to call down to get sheets and pillows for the sofa bed(kinda wish it was in our room like a lot of hotels do). Waited over a hour for someone to bring sheets up. Didn’t have any coffee pods for the coffee maker, cream, sugar, etc. just one coffee cup. Shower pressure was so nice! Fast forward to Sunday and we get a knock around 10am for housekeeping, told the lady we requested to have her come after 1pm and she said she’d come back. Sunday night we come back and housekeeping never came by. Went down Monday morning to the front desk to let them know how housekeeping never came by the day before and asked what we needed and that it would be delivered to our room. Our room also didn’t have a housekeeping sign to put on our door so come Tuesday for check out we get a knock around 10am asking when we were leaving by housekeeping. Check out was super fast and easy. We didn’t eat breakfast there so can’t comment on that. We used the pool once during our few nights there and it was nice. The restaurant/bar either wasn’t open while we were there or isn’t being used at all so that was kinda disappointing.

Rooms are filthy. For the price and location, our family was expecting an immaculate room with a nice presentation. This is the dirtiest hotel room I have ever seen. Kitchenette had crumbs all over the floor, exterior refrigerator had thick sludge smears, freezer was filthy, bed linens had stains, bathroom was dirty, tub had black mold in grout, window sills were filthy, and I could go on. It was so gross that we couldn't stay after our exhausting 6 hour drive to the area. Would not recommend if basic cleanliness is important to you.

Nice hotel and clean lobby. Rooms we newer and clean for a 3 star hotel.I caution anyone who does stay here and to make sure there are no local High School sports teams staying here. If you decide to stay here, call a head of time !!From 12 midnight to 2am they ran up and down the hall loud, cursing and banging on peoples doors. I called the front desk because it sounded as if someone was trying to knock my door down. Brought this to the attention of the front desk and clearly the lady was in over her head saying “yes we know about the noise, it’s a hockey team and they finished eating they should calm down soon”. That’s an answer a guest staying at your hotel wants to hear?So basically I’m not the only one to call and YOU DID NOTHING about it. I’m glad she doesn’t work for me and my company.The customer service was absolutely garbage and the kicker is the hotel manger in the morning NO- WHERE -TO - BE - FOUND ! Get it together Residence in of Orangeburg.Call ahead folks- - Call ahead

Pleasant and courteous front desk staff. Great breakfast buffet included. The only issue had was with the room cleaning prior to check in. Housekeeping left a dirty towel on the bathroom floor and visible crumbs at the dining table chair. I have stayed here before and never had this issue so hopefully the Housekeeping staff will do a more thorough check before clearing a room for the next guest.The hotel is very close to area attractions which makes it great. I would return but please make sure proper health protocols are followed by Housekeeping. This would be a 4 rating otherwise.

DISAPPOINTED, DIRTY ROOMS!I have stayed at this Residence Inn Location for over five times in the last three years and this was the worst experience of them all. It took longer than expected to check into my room due to housekeeping which I completely understood, as Gold Status I requested for an enhanced room upgrade and was told that since I was staying longer than one day I was not eligible which sounded absurd. The first room I checked in after examining the room tidiness I found short men’s hair all over the pillows and bed. The presentation looked horrible. Beds looks wrinkled and dirty. The second room they put me in was just as bad. Beds looks unneat and sheets wrinkled. When I decided to finally use the shower I noticed that the previous guest’s used soap with still in the shower covered with hair. I was disgusted on the level of housekeeping and room presentation. These rooms need a deep cleansing and there is residue all over the kitchen and bathrooms. I will not be returning and no longer recommend this location.

We stayed in this hotel for some family business in the Orangeburg area.There is nothing special about this hotel to say.Breakfast was pretty great - hot buffet,  fresh fruit, and so on.The pool was working and in good shape.It was a plus.On the other hand, there is no free coffee in the lobby, and the sofa bed doesn't have blankets and sheets - you need to get by yourself at the reception.

Absolutely fabulous experience, everything was perfection! From the moment we stepped through the doors, the staff was welcoming, friendly & accommodating with our many requests. The ladies & gentlemen in the front office were spot on with recommendations! Bad isolated rooms !!! You can hear the steps and voices from upper floor!I stayed on the 3rd floor, 30 after my arrival one guy knocked my door saying that I’ve been making too much noise while walking around my room. He went to front desk to complaint about it.I just ignored him…2 days later I realized how annoying is to hear the steps coming from the upper room at 2AM !! I called front desk but they didn’t do anything.My recommendation is: even though amenities, pool, gym and the rooms looks nice. THIS IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO STAY.Also, the don’t have housekeeping!

The front desk Manager Christian was the opposite of accommodating. "Acted" nice but would keep mentioning the fact that I was staying with points. Wouldn't provide a 2 bed room even though we were staying for 5 nights. A little bit of a drive to NYC but we had such a great time in May that I decided to book here again. Needless to say that we will never be staying here again. The blonde lady behind the counter the following morning was so nice and empathetic that she almost saved the day. But Christian's complete lack of helpfulness left a really bad taste in our mouths. We will not be back here and recommend others to stay away if possible. There are a lot of great hotels in the Jersey area to spend your money on.

A definite recommendation! Newly renovated, room was spacious and thoughtfully furnished. Bathroom was clean with a large shower and great water pressure! Staff was friendly and accommodating, especially Christian who went above and beyond to make the stay a good one.

For as much as they charge you’d think they’d provide a bar of soap! Say what? Why are they still using plastic utensils and disposable cups? Breaking News: The planet is choking on single use plastic and other garbage. Comfortable room in a hotel that isn’t concerned about sustainability.Noteworthy details: No soap and none available at the front desk. Plastic utensils and disposable coffee cups for breakfast. Nice touch for $200 per night.

We spent a night here while we were getting our boiler replaced at our home. We bypassed several other closer hotels to take advantage of the newly updated facilities here. The bathroom was very spacious and the shower pressure was lovely. We stayed in Room 135.Breakfast in the AM was a nice perk that included hot choices!

Would give this a 5 except for the My Cousin Vinny vibes. The train. Why do hotels build next to train lines? Our room is literally backed up to the railroad . Due to mobility issues I have, we are in an ADA room. The bathroom smells like a nursing home .old urine and the shower floods the whole bathroom.But the beds are great. Rooms furnished great. Breakfast is great too. Location..aside from the train ..is awesome. Service staff is fantastic. Grocery store is in the same parking lot.
