After seeing all the bottoms at Walmart for the last week Tops was a welcome change. A little more expensive than Walmart but worth it because the customer service and selection is superior. Or TOPS. Similar to Albertsons on the west coast.

I'm very impressed with the management team here, from the meat department to the produce department, and especially Karen G. Always willing to help and a positive attitude.

I used to work there and everyone I worked with was awesome and the people are there are still as awesome. Great shopping experience all the way around.

Very clean and decently well organized. Don't shop there unless you have a "bonus card", though. They are free/easy to get, but it feels like almost every item is slightly expensive, but also on sale for a good price (but only with the loyalty card).Pros: Good produce, good bakery section, good deli section. No complaints with selection. Bulk food section is massive as well.Cons: I currently have 5 loyalty cards in my wallet. It's too much. (if you register your account online, you can leave the card at home and just use your phone number). Organization could be improved. Spices were in three different aisles. Middle aisles by the deli are easy to miss, due to the way the hot bar/tables are set up.

Clean. A good selection of quality goods. Friendly staff. Can cash checks here with ID. Has a Coinstar machine. Good selection of fruits and veggies.

The store was near and clean and the staff was friendly. I was having trouble finding a meat injector and the manager was very helpful in getting it for me. We purchased some clams for a cookout and some other things. The clams were amazing every one of them opened up which usually does not happen. I will definitely be back to this location

I waited to do this review due to the emotional nature of the situation. On September 29th, 2021 I ran in to the Olean Tops. It was 11:12pm when I parked, and 11:17pm when I cashed out. Just about every isle was tapped off for floor cleaning. I explained to a gentleman doing the floors that I work, Walmart closest at 11p so I often run in this store at this time and I just needed laundry soap, it was 2 isles from the caution tape, he said "ok, get it, be careful". Another man also working on the floors yelled "hey" and some other stuff I didn't understand. He literally sought me out, stepped in my path, wouldn't let me through to question me. He said "can't you read" and I calmly explained the situation and that the other person told me it was ok to grab the laundry soap (I do my laundry late at a laundromat because of my schedule). He said "yeah so what, you can't read". After being interrogated, insulted and humiliated in front of my young daughter, he let me pass and made sure it was directly to check out. This man sounded Dominican, I could be wrong, but that's the impression I got from his accent. I understand it's acceptable and in some cases typical to talk to people in this manner in the Dominican Republic or at least that was the explanation I gave to my young daughter when she cried believing this man was a threat, but this is a store that closes at midnight, I needed only one item. For him to talk to me the way he did, in the presence of a young child was completely uncalled for. On the streets he'd of been arrested. I do not want my child nor anyone else's little girl to believe it's ok for anyone to speak to her that way. We literally ran in to a store to grab one item and was verbally abused and illegally detained. I used to like this store, friendly staff, easy process. Now I absolutely refuse to enter this store without a male friend. I don't know if these men are always there or hired to do something and are now gone, I only know it's easy to be assaulted in this store as none of the typical employees defended our ability to purchase the laundry soap nor prevented this person from illegally detaining us in an isle, although the regular employees were also female, so I wonder if they too feared this aggressive approach to get a point across. In the future perhaps closing the store early would prevent these types of situations.

Great place to shop if you're white.... I am one that hates it when black people pull the race card but the service that I receive each and every time I go there is very consistent with profiling. On this trip it started in the frozen food section. My children and I were selecting food items to purchase and an older man that at first I thought was a customer became angry because I could not move my children out of his way fast enough. This man was wearing a hoodie and did not have a proper uniform on but when he turned I could see the tops t-shirt.After this I went to the bulk food section and selected a fine assortment of healthy nuts for my children. First I would like to note that the management needs better loss prevention training because he could have not been more obvious or silly when profiling me. He used a flat cart and items to obscure his self all while slowly and intentionally walking past us three times. He went into the back to and as soon as he did I would presume it was him on the PA system calling at least two departments and three employees to the break room.I continued on my way and went to check out the cashier I have to say was a kind thoughtful lady she gave my children suckers and they were delighted. Having said that she did not need any help and whom I believe to be a member of management said that she would bag my items. This would have been fine if that was her intention but it was not.I have worked security and loss prevention my self and understand terms such as Bob and Lisa aka bottom of the basket and look inside always. She did this no less than four times and it made me feel like a criminal. Here is where it should have stopped but it did not. I was followed by a man that was not one of the normal parking lot attendants all the way to my car. He stood behind me which was not a smart thing to do considering I have three children and in what I could only describe as disrespectful tone demanded the cart from me . He looked at my plate number and looked inside the trunk of my car while asking for the cart. I am a responsible adult and always take care of my cart. As we drove away he made it look like he was taking care of carts which he was not doing. In conclusion I thought dressing in a respectable way, wearing a belt and speaking properly would be enough to allow me in the elitist Tops Markets but truth be told it was not.I am tired, depressed, frustrated, annoyed and disappointed in this systematic profiling. I pay for my items and I leave but I am followed every time I go there. Please understand that this has been on going for almost a year.I want to keep my money in the community and shop locally but with a store that seems to encourage profiling on this level makes me want to send my money directly to China and watch Tops Markets fester like an open sore.

We ordered 20 live lobsters. We're quoted one price and charged 150 dollars more. When we picked them up they were in plastic bags when we were told they would be in a waxy box with ice since we had a bit of a drive. All the lobsters were alive which is why they got 2 stars. But the overall experience was very disappointing for the amount of money we spent

We made a quick stop to pick up some stuff for Easter dinner. We were able to quickly find what we needed and even got some discount prices because of our bonus card.

So now you have to sign up for the newest thing-e coupons. Utterly a waste of time. I tried numerous times and even went to the store. No help there. Thought a new card might solve the problem but was told it had to go through corporate before it would work. I don’t plan on shopping at tops again. I was never thrilled with the wait to have someone cash me out. I don’t use self checkouts. End of rant.

Always great prices and selections. Cashier's are descent at getting you through the checkout. Self checkout seems to be busier at times. Parking is always available and the store is in a great location for ease of shopping.

I love this Tops because it is easy to navigate, there are always good deals, and the Produce section is unbeatable. The only thing that stops me from giving it 5 stars, is that the bathrooms are always gross, or out of toilet paper, soap, or paper towels. Every single time.

I was treated like a piece of garbage by a woman working at the cafe: Dorothy. She acted like I was her enemy, like she had something personally against me... I was having a bad day already; It was a Friday and I had just finished a 60hr work week, stopped at the Top's Cafe to get a slice of pizza and was treated like I was scum by Dorothy... I requested to speak to a manager, got an eye roll and then finally was able to meet a short woman who said "Im sorry I just got here" - that's doesnt mean anything to me. That manager obviously doesnt know how to resolve customer service issues. I finally decided to get in contact with the owner - he pleasant, made me feel heard and admitted that more than a few people have complained about this employee and that he was going to take care of it.... Week later: timidly made my way over to the deli/cafe section, and guess who's miserable face I saw? Dorothy's. Obviously the business owner is all talk. Never going back there.

Why ask "did you find everything alright?" If no one plans on actually helping you find what you need when you haven't. Instead of looking up in the system the who I am assuming manager sent me back out on my hunt in the very places I looked in the first place saying " those isles are where we have our nutritional things" very confusing being it's a grocery store and second lazy. When I came back 5 minutes later I saw one of the women leaving for either a break or shift change and it made sense why help wasn't given. Probably won't be shopping this store again.

Advertised a sale on cherries, cantalope, and Coke. I went at noon the first day of sale and they were out of cherries! Really?! This is a large store. They are lucky I'm even giving 3 stars.

I always have a long wait while checking out. Either the clerks are super slow and constantly talking to other clerks or there are only a few checkout aisles open. The service counter is always busy and usually only one clerk is working. Very poorly managed.

WOW....40+ year customer and use to buy water in a 5 Gallon jug for $6 w/exchange just a week ago. Now $16 with exchange for Primo Water? Not sure if Primo is Price Gouging or Tops is, but that’s 143% increase! With people being out of work and times very hard, doesn’t seem right... Gonna have to go somewhere where the prices are more reasonable!

I always enjoy my visits to Tops. I take advantage of the super coupons on a weekly basis. I'm a senior on a fixed income and really appreciate the deals they offer.

Reasonable selection at acceptable prices. Somewhat more personal at Reid 's and a wider, but slightly more expensive selection at Wegmans. Do a large portion of our food shopping at TOPS, but not all.

The store is clean and they usually have what I'm looking for. The shows are usually well stocked. Any time I need extra help staff is always very helpful, especially in produce.

Love this store. Buy 90% of my groceries here and they reward their customers with gas point for each dollar spent. I recently got a $1 off per gallon of gas.

The Tops in Olean can be counted on to have lots of fresh local produce as well as the unusual items, and they have the new things that I saw in a magazine and want to try. Great meat choices and prices, too!

Since the last time I was in this tops it must have been renovated. They did a great job and they have a much better selection of fresh produce and meats now.

Their instacart service is unreliable. First we were put off our scheduled time for a day, then the next scheduled time was delayed. Now were waiting for an email saying our order is ready.

I stood in line for ten minutes with 3 ladies ahead of me, then the kid turned off his light when I was next, saying he was not going take any more customers and I had to go to another line.I walked out of there I'll never go back to that Tops again.
