Another of my favorite placesThey have the stuff you forgot or need for virtually any sport in the area. A mountain Shepard greets you at the door and loves to play fetch. Knowledgeable staff and fair prices. Easy to get to and easy parking. Highly recommend.

The prices seem to gradually increase each and every year. I spent $40 for me and my brother to get hauled up the biggest hill and we brought our own kayaks not rental ones. It would've been so much more had we rented. Hands down it's a reliable service offered. Also the full course is very long so plan at least a half day with completing it.

Helpful staff talked me through my sleeping bag options and then brought me to the discounted area to grab a pillow. Pretty expensive but that's just the brands they stock and to be expected, seems to be mostly high quality.

Great place to start your kayak experience ! We dropped off one car off and drove the kayaks upstream and paddled back downstream to mountainman for a nice 3hr paddle ! ! ! They have bathrooms and a well stocked equipment store that sells and rents out what ever you might need ! ! !

This was an awesome excursion for my family who have never been kayaking. Very easy for beginners and the views were beautiful. There were many options from solo to tandem kayaks and canoes. We tried the kayaks and had a great time. Good pricing and very close to town with all the shops and restaurants. Definitely would go back again to try the other routes!

It was such a pleasure this holiday weekend to be so well taken care of by Colin at Mountain Man. My husband and I stopped in to buy a kayak - we had in mind exactly what we needed. Colin listened, showed us options, was patient and so informative. And it didn’t end there, when I picked the kayak up the following day, he went over every detail of loading it, securing it for the road etc.,. It’s far from my first time at Mount Man - however it’s always been on the xc ski end in the past. And that end never disappoints either. I am just so impressed with the customer service and the cheerful staff. And their prices are so reasonable.

Every visitor to old forge should come here and book a kayak trip on Moose River. 3-4 hours of serene beauty that needs to be experienced first hand. There is a gentle current that can make the adventure as slow or as fast as you want. Absolute magic between every paddle. More people need to see this, hear this. Prep for the trip with lunch and plenty to drink, sunscreen and bug spray. Plenty of sand dunes to take it easy and enjoy. Always a remarkable memory. My wife and I will always cherish this one. Owner is an amazing guy who will make sure you are taken care of. Do yourself a favor and get on the water, just do it. A real gem in old forge.

What an awesome experience going through this company for my kayak. Between ordering, their patience of waiting for me to be able to make the trip to pick up my kayak and helping me to travel with my kayak- I really can’t say enough. Tyler and the staff were friendly and so helpful with understanding the world of kayaking for a first-timer. I would recommend anyone to use them for purchasing a kayak and all other supplies. My family and I rented three kayaks (one tandem and two single). Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Kayaks and all equipment we rented was in excellent condition. We had a great time. As soon as we were done kayaking we called them and they came to pick us up right away. Definitely recommend!!!

Went to ask about info for the kayak rentals. Waited about 15 mins for someone to show up and a guy comes peeling in with a van. He got out and before we could even say what we were there for he was EXTREMELY rude and said he has a lot on his plate and he was closing up. The way he spoke to us I'm assuming he is the owner or manager? I told him all I wanted to ask is if we had to reserve kayaks before we use them for the next day. Once again very rudely he told me it's first come first serve and he will open tomorrow if any of his employees want to show up. Needless to say, we will never return back because of his poor attitude.
