Olcott Beach Carousel Park, located at 5979 Main Street, Olcott, NY, is a charming amusement park that offers a delightful experience for families, especially those with young children. Known for its vintage appeal, the park features a collection of classic rides and attractions:Rides and Attractions: The park houses several small rides tailored for young children (usually under 52 inches tall), including a beautiful carousel which is not the original from Olcott but a similar one. In addition to the carousel, there are about six to seven other rides, all in excellent condition and evoking a sense of nostalgia. These rides include a kid-sized Ferris wheel and vintage games like a duck game, claw/fortune teller games, and a skee ball area. The park has a strong focus on preserving the vintage feel of its attractions, which seems to be a hit with visitors.Affordable Experience: One of the park's most notable features is its affordability. Rides cost only 25 cents, making it a budget-friendly option for families. This pricing model is supported by the fact that the park is run entirely by volunteers, which includes maintenance, administrative work, and operating the rides.Historical Significance: Olcott Beach Carousel Park has a rich history. Before World War I, Olcott Beach on Lake Ontario was a popular destination akin to an inland Coney Island, attracting visitors from Buffalo, Rochester, and even Toronto. The park's current state is the result of community efforts to restore the old merry-go-round and add other rides from the 1930s and 40s, reviving the amusement park that had deteriorated over time.Community Involvement: The park is a symbol of community spirit, having been refurbished and maintained by local volunteers. This community-driven approach has helped keep the park's charm and historical significance alive.Location and Accessibility: Situated near Niagara Falls, the park is an excellent side trip for visitors to the area. It's within a short drive from Buffalo, making it easily accessible for a day trip. Additionally, the park is located close to Krull Park, which offers a splash pad, and is across the street from a beach, though it's advised not to plan for swimming at the beach.Olcott Beach Carousel Park operates during the summer, starting from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, but it's not open every day. Visitors are encouraged to check the park's website or contact them for the latest operating days and hours.

I recently visited Olcott Beach Carousel Park with my family, and it was an absolute delight! This renewed vintage kiddie park has managed to retain its charming essence while providing endless fun for children, all at an unbelievably affordable price of just 25 cents per ride. The park's location is truly beautiful, offering picturesque views and a serene atmosphere. Nestled by the beach, it provides a perfect backdrop for a memorable day out with the family. The moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and enthusiasm from the dedicated volunteer workers, who contribute their time and effort to ensure everyone has a fantastic experience. The nostalgic charm of the vintage games transported us back to a simpler time, creating an immersive experience that captivated both young and old.One highlight of our visit was the magic show, which had my kids on the edge of their seats. The magician was incredibly talented, engaging, and had the whole audience mesmerized. It was a real treat to witness such a captivating performance. What sets Olcott Beach Carousel Park apart is the affordability combined with the exceptional quality of the park's offerings. It's rare to find such an affordable family attraction that doesn't compromise on fun or safety. The 25-cent price per ride allowed my children to enjoy multiple rides without breaking the bank.

So glad we made it there before the season ended this year! Cool spot for little kids! Run by volunteers and the rides are only 25 cents each! Such a great deal and kids/toddlers love it! Perfect for a sunny day. Bathrooms are super clean too.

Such a great place for children. 25 cents for rides and free magic show at 2pm. We had a great time and will definitely be back. It's good to know for those with older kiddos that the height restriction starts above 52 inches for the rides.

Super cute town! My kids are 2 and 5 and they loved it! They had 7 rides (all 25 cents each) and a couple games. Then you can get some hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, and ice cream right there. Then within a 5-10 min walk you could go to the splash park and two playgrounds right near it. very worth the drive. Very very small beach right near the amusement park but a very nice views. Couple small shops right by the water too. Loved it!

a little magic place. We loved how clean and kept this place was. A real testament to the small town communities in our area. The rides are all “old-timey” and cost .25 a ride! $2 was all my 2 year old needed :) we had such a great time. Thank you to the entire Olcott community <3

Very beautiful place to go and visit if you ever get the chance. The beach was closed off due to high water levels; however, the scenery was breathtaking. Large areas to sit and enjoy the view, including multiple pavilions to have a cookout; some of which you have to reserve. Words can't even explain all the scenery; however, I hope my pictures will...

Must stop here if family with kids under 52”. Took our parents and kids. Spent about 20 dollars on whole family over two hours. Played skeet ball on tracks that were from the forties! Listened to the music player built 91 years ago-like the best computer built...still works after 91 years. Very clean bathrooms and grounds. Afterwards walked down to some nice shops. There was live music and good food. We drove to Wilson for a real destination meal then watched sunset illuminate the skyline of Toronto across Lake Ontario.

I live only a half hour away and had been meaning to bring my preschooler here for awhile. I finally did on 4th of July. It was great! She is 3 yr 10 months and the rides weren't scary but still exciting enough for her. The best part was that we left behind her bag of goodies from a nearby store, along with her favorite beloved kitty plushie, and someone kindly turned it in. Now we have a reason to return next weekend!

Am amazing place. Beautifully restored mid-century kiddie rides for $0.25 per ride. A perfectly preserved merry-go-round from 1926 too. Kids must be under 52" to ride, except the merry-go-round which is for all ages. With two kids we were hard pressed to spend more than $5 on rides. Our kids love this place.Volunteer run by a bunch of kind-hearted people who are clearly there because they want to be. Perfect for young kids. I'll be sad when my two are too old to go anymore... But we might still go to Olcott Beach because it's a great little area to explore.

Very beautiful place. Sad that I traveled a hour and a half to get there and the rides weren't open. Apparently they close after labor day. There was however a ferris wheel that was running so we went on. The shops were cute.

This place is surprisingly more fun then the kiddie ride area at Seabreeze and almost on par with Darian Lake amassment park. Four to seven year olds may enjoy it the most. The park is not empty but there were never any long lines. Our kids also enjoyed the magic show. Definitely worth an afternoon to check out!

This place is amazing. 6 rides, all a quarter each. Free shows, affordable games like ski ball, and affordable food from the little shops surrounding. Volunteers all had great attitudes, bathrooms were incredibly clean, rides were all in fantastic condition and super clean. We had minimal wait times for the rides. Height cut off is 52" for the rides per nys law. Great for younger kids!I am sad I didn't come across this sooner, it's such a gem.We had a 45 minute drive each way and I think it was well worth it. This is going to be a new summer tradition for us!I hope this place stays up and running forever. Absolutely one of a kind!

This place is awesome. Absolutely worth the drive. The rides are so sweet, the idea is amazing, and my little one can ride to hus hearts content for under $10. If you want to throw them some more bucks, please do! It's practically (if not actually) a charity.P.S. go during the car show that takes place sometime during labor day weekend, It's cool and chaotic! Bring ear protection

Love this place & hope it never changes. There’s something for everyone who wants to enjoy the good life. It is a great Beach to walk. I’ve done so for over 35 years. You can see Toronto from here on a clear day across Lake Ontario! What an amazing view. Clean park, bike trails, historic museum, area Christian Churches that meet there & pray for the Commumity (all are welcome to join), one feels safer and at peace compared to other beaches & parks where dangerous riff-raft has taken over. Olcott Beach is like small town America has been preserved. People picnic with their families or swim with lifeguards onboard watchtowers. Older folks enjoy musical concerts in the park on the lawn while the young are treated to an amazing kiddie Amusement Park..full of adventure, games, puppet shows and 25 cent rides. Best part is a parent or grandparent actually gets a free ride w/their child (thanks to many local town volunteers & generous small business donors who work hard and raise funds)…there’s so much to enjoy…a lighthouse near where you can watch the boats, yachts, & ships come in, an ice cream parlor, unique boutique shops, walk the boardwalk, eat anytime of day at restaurants or stay late. After sunset, there’s avid night life with rock bands, motorcycles, & a lover’s Farris wheel that oversee’s it all.I can’t give enough stars to this, you’ll just have to go there to experience it for yourself. Please keep it nice, the way it has been and don’t ruin it if you do for everyone’s future benefit. Thanks!

Great little mini-amusement park. Has 10 rides for the kids, rides are only 25 cents and the people are great. Nice park right next to the place so you can picnic there and enjoy the rest of the day.

I can’t express how much this place means to the families who visit. Its the perfect size to be able to enjoy yourself . I have two under three so it’s hard going to theme parks because they want to go on rides that they’re not allowed to . Here there is nothing that they cannot ride. Restrooms are clean. Nursing area for mother’s. Magic show at 2 pm. The rides are 25 cents and you could be here all day with the kiddos for $20. That’s hard to come by these days. The have a park up the road which features a splash park !!! Everything around here pretty much opens at noon.

For what it is, it's really nice. 25¢ ridesnice little shops nearby. Clean friendly atmosphere. The whole town feels like a throwback to a movie town I've never been but also wanted to.Go enjoy the day or a couple hours I know your kids will. My 3&1 year old did.

Let the little ones under 52" ride some old-timey rides for $0.25 each. Grab a Perry's Ice Cream, go down the block to Krull park. Bring a frisbee for the park, a swimsuit and stuff for the beach. The magic and puppet shows are free and fun for children. A great way to spend a fun day with little ones.

This is a perfect little place for a little ones to get their first amusement park rides. I would say the age range is probably Age 2 to age 6. Rides are only $0.25. Everything is clean and appears well-maintained. It was an absolutely wonderful afternoon.
